      Yall, the last time I had a sew in (November 2013), I ended up with a LARGE egg sized bald spot in the crown of my head. I've been afraid since.
      If I can find a good stylist, I will go through with it. thanks for the advice.

  • @maxMSMT
    @maxMSMT 8 років тому +109

    this totally makes sense and eliminates the knots and bumps from braiding which helps to trap sweat n makes the hair smelly. bet it's easier to shampoo and dry this method as well.. love it tierra.. what's the technical name or more popular name for it? I'd like to try and see if any local hairstylist can do it

    • @TheTierraJ
      @TheTierraJ  7 років тому +14

      Yes, exactly!! It is called the "braidless sew-in" some may refer to it as the "micro link sew-in" as well.
      Thanks so much for watching!

    • @beautifuldistractionatl128
      @beautifuldistractionatl128 7 років тому +3

      without micro links or with it some would consider this a Malaysian technique

    • @ninamcrae7295
      @ninamcrae7295 7 років тому +7

      +beautifuldistractionatl the Brazilian and Malaysian techniques are similar but use tiny tubes instead of rings and even smaller sections of hair.in the malaysian method ,once the row is completed the stylist goes back and takes a section of each of the already linked hairs and links those sections together to relieve and distribute the tension placed on the single linked strands forming a v like formation.

    Great job! I just wanted to note that this type of sew-in is likely best for those who don't have to heat style their hair too often. Not for those who do not know how to work with their own natural hair. It's more permanent than clip-ins, so if you can wear those, you can wear this.

    First let me say, from one hairstylist to another, I love your videos and your work!!! I've always wanted to do something like this on my clients, but I always wondered about breakage and how it would hold up. Have your clients ever experienced breakage with this technique and do you suggest this be used only on thicker hair or all hair types? Thanks in advance!!

    Braidless weave does not damage the hair the wearer does that by not maintaining correctly and forgetting to look after the real hair underneath this method is a good one for maintaining hair growth

    This looks great. It’s flat and looks natural. I don’t understand how this method less tension? Adding the beads and tightening them seems exactly like a corn row to me. I also don’t see how this is protective if your hair is left exposed and you have to use heat to blend for straight styles. Over all I think this is a great method for those who like the updo ponytail, leave out, and women with softer hair textures who wont require a lot of heat maintenance.

If you do another video with this technique could you slow down and show where the needle and thread are going in relation to the bead and empty space. It looked flawless. Question... Is this called fusion? And I missed how you remove the beads properly. Thanks!
