Fantastic install, very informative tutorial (with correct information, in my humble opinion). As a stylist, please, if you attempt this method, be aware of the beads...they can't be too high or too tight, and the bigger the parting space the better. An incorrect install can lead to hair loss.

@@lisakaye3919 The beading method is actually much less tension than a sew in. I've tried it before. The biggest issue is when you are a 4c and your own hair starts to kink up right below the silicone bead. My hair likes to loc and to keep it from locing, I like to keep lots of oil in my hair. But of course the oil makes the beads slip. So I can only achieve this style for a short period of time. It is supposed to last a long time but I can't seem to make it last as long as I'd like considering how long it takes to put them in.

I actually was thinking that's a lot of hair. But as you silked it out, it wasn't too bad at all. I'd probably settle for one track as opposed to the double tracks only because of the density of the hair. All in all great work!!!

I want to say congrats to your cousin and I have seen a few stylist do the microlinks but the way you did it looks the best. Why I say that is because it's more secure to the scalp, hair, and etc great job you did.

Try a keratin protein treatment

Our hair has to be trained to stay straighter longer. If you wear a flat iron consistently, the longer you wear your straight style, the more the texture conforms. Also, I saw in the comments someone recommend a Keratin treatment which also helps.

This has been beautifully done and also it reminds me of the early 2000 late nineties technique called French lace. And that's when you would only use nylon thread in between the hair to sew on. Crazy how we have Evolved in the Weaving Community.

I think you are officially my favorite stylist that is on YT. This made me want to get microlinks. I cut my hair off and it’s growing back. It’s long enough to do it on. How long do they last and how much is a typical service for microlinks?
I tell my clients 6-8wkz some stylist will allow there clients to go as far as 6 months with maintenance.

Question. Why do the links? What’s the point if it’s a sew-in? Asking because I’m curious.
This method allows you to get to your scalp. The client can oil of shampoo her at him when she can’t get to her stylist. Some people do this method just for added volume and don’t want a full braided base install.

@@HairByMeeka the versatility is undeniable BUT the high manipulation is a conflict of interest for most women looking for protective styling which is usually the intent when getting a weave installed, on the other hand women with straight hair or like to straighten their hair often( conflict of interest) would prefer this method with goals of thickness and length over health and protection.. itll be received by some but not most if you're appealing to aesthetic over hair health ...then theres the service fee lol
1987-1991 it was real big .for those who had the funds $2500-$3000, majority cauasian and spanish wore this technic back then.

It depends on if they are getting a full or partial and the size of there head. Typical anywhere from 3-5hrs. My starting price is $500
