Japan mai bhi jab 1970 mai bullet train chalu hui thi to voh bhi gareeb desh hi tha aur ameer hi afford kr skte the, pr aaj jese jese development hui aur economy badhi toh sb afford KR hi paa rahe hai na
Actually sahi baat h Uss time japan bahut kharab State me tha, ww2 ke incidents vagera But still they made bullet train and see now its one of the best train systems of the World. Dheere dheere hamara per capita income badega and we will start spending more and will need these morden facilities For eg:- iam 20years old I still remember jab when i was very small we used to travel to my home town in sleeper class overnight. After sometime we usually took 3ac overnight Now, just before covid and after, iam talking flights to my hometown It saves me time, much more convenient and comfortable.. Side note:- i still miss my train journeys😭
I don't think we should talk about Japan and it's economy when we are talking about Bullet Trains. Japan is a small country, like way small, and it's made up of Hills and Mountain range, in fact, Osaka to Tokyo, Japan's first Bullet Train, 80% of the tracks passed through mountains, and bullet train was the only way because other trains will have it hard to escalate and deescalate. India is a whole different country, we don't need Bullet Train on our plane fields, if we fix our existing tracks, we can reach 220km/hr easily, and we loaned out 90% of the funds from Banks, so again it doesn't make sense to make something which is not desperately needed, it's like a middle class man taking loan to buy iPhone 15 Pro Max, he can use a normal 25k phone but to show status, they are buying costly stuff. Japan and France didn't take loans from foreign countries to make the project, India did, and does (same with Atal Setu), high tolls are in part because the banks demand for return in investment with interest (1% is a lot too).
Wrong, Japan wasn't poor but just got disturbed due to wwii aftermaths. Their population was educated and well off also they developed technology indigenously unlike us where everything borrowed from Japan including loan. We want development not show off. Had we laid new railway line that can support speed up to 250kmph and run our indigenously made trains would be lot cheaper to develop, scale and maintain.

@@srijangdas4572Kindly provide detailed technical documentation substantiating your claim regarding the ease of upgrading tracks within our railway infrastructure. Beyond the imperative of speed, the success of high-speed operations hinges on a multifaceted analysis encompassing route optimization, advanced signaling systems, robust fencing for safety and security, meticulous maintenance protocols to address track wear and tear, and the integration of state-of-the-art train sets designed for optimal performance. Additionally, an in-depth examination of the current infrastructure's compatibility with cutting-edge technologies and scalability is crucial for a compelling case for track upgrades. Also, consider the capex required to make this all possible.
It's not an eye opening Video, he gave examples about normal Metro, Bus and Train when we are talking about Bullet Train expenditure. Thing is, there are many problems with the projects, first of all Bullet Train was needed in Japan due to its hills and mountain ranges, there Bullet train was a necessity, not show off. In India, we can easily upgrade our tracks so that trains like Vande Bharat, and upgraded Vande Bharat will run at 220kmph, when 60% of our tracks can't even support 100kmph+, bullet train project is just a show off. Thing like this too, we are taking 90% of the huge 1 lakh crore rupees as loan from Japanese Dev Bank, we are using their technology, and most of our revenue will go to them, we spend 0 in R&D and get prideful by importing technology which we cannot afford. We spend 1 lakh Crore in education budget, that's the life of 20Cr+ children and young adults vs a bullet train project which is only for show. It's like a middle class man buying an iPhone 15 Pro Max by taking a loan, just to show off. Central Govt can actually do real work and spend crores in upgradation and addition of tracks, which will help a lot, but thing is, you cannot get votes by doing silent work. PowerTrain is biased after I saw their channel being aired officially by BJP owned houses, so he can never go anti Government, I dare him talk about anything against the central govt anyday anytime.
@@srijangdas4572 220+ on existing tracks ? What are you smoking? At max by doubling the track and separating the freight and passenger trains most you can get is 140Kmph average speed. As far as loan and importing tech is concerned, China in the beginning also imported it from Europe (italy mainly) now manufactures their own and export it to Countries like Indonesia, Laos. Same thing happened with Delhi metro we imported it from Japan now 6-7 Indian Companies manufactures Metro and export to not just developing countries but to a developed country like Australia. Same thing is going to happen with Bullet train. It will reduce travel time, working people traveling to city for work from tier 2 cities return home by night reducing pressure from tier 1 cities it will compete with Airlines and provide choices. As far debt is concerned - JICA has given loan at 0.1% this free money, real interest rate is zero. The first tranch of loan repayment will begin in 2035 (7-8 years after the operation). Most of revenue is not going to Japan - 85% of entire project cost is just about acquiring Land (from Indians), erecting pillars and laying girders using Cement and steel (supplied by indian companies), engineering services companies like L&T, Tata Constructions (trained by JICA) building stations. you'll see how many MNC's will make their bases around cities through which bullet train passes.
First of all if one thing is done that does not mean that other things are not done. Both things can be done simultaneously without a problem. Your point about instead of doing bullet train, you should do upgradation of tracks is completely and utterly misguided and misinformed. Both of them are being done at a rapid pace. Electrification of railways, betterment of railway stations etc etc are all being done and as per your terminology is "silent work". Your other point about PoweTrain being biased, you should see his videos first and then comment, he always is practical and states facts. Now if you only critize 24 X 7 the present govt, then only you are fair and unbiased. Now that is what you call bias. @@srijangdas4572
@@srijangdas4572 bullet trains is also needed since their are many terrains in India where increasing no of tracks is not possible or if we upgrade current tracks than also we cannot increase the speed due to terrains. We were talking about the poor from the last 75 years and even after 100 years we are still going to talk about the poor . It is just because people don't want to work hard and people want the government to offer everything for free and if the government wants to spend money on infrastructure people start talking about what's the benefit for the poor but in that talk people do forget most of the taxes are paid by the middle class and rich people.
To remove poverty, we need to strengthen industrialists. So that poor can be employed. But people are anti industrialist. And end up creating situation like in West Bengal.
No bro, Mass rapid transits may not possibly able to cover the running costs either! There are many other factors that justify operating a public utility. As pointed out in the video, what motivates is the overall benefit that it brings to public, in terms of people movement, access to oppurtunities, facilitating businesses etc. Megacities require such systems, as there are bulk people who use it as lifeline , and boost the productivity of people. The Bill of such systems will borne by the taxes. There are also certain necessities due to which we require public transport, like giving affordable access to interior villages, which can help small businesses over there, can help with occupation of people, and can contribute to general wellbeing, and in a way reduce crimes.
See the bigger picture and the problems seems steps or missions to unlock the potential of our Economy. This video has a very positive message for all of us. Kudos Brother....Keep up the good work.

You are absolutely right. Moreover, just like Maruti Suzuki car brought a revolution in the auto industry, ( at that time too people said why have a Japanese car when Fiat and Ambassador are already available) there are trickle down benefits of projects such as bullet train. For example, India gets know how, its people get skilled and technologies absorbed due to bullet train percolates through the economy and can potentially affect many sectors positively.

I have realised many times how important is public transport, today I had to got to a place around 25 km away from my house, if I went by cab it would have costed me around 500, but combination of bus and metro costed me only 65 rs
Public transport make life of people going to work faster and effective...this increase output and which increases overall economic output..... Also using public transport saves pollution and reduces traffic and depend of India on petroleum.... Thus building good public transportation infrastructure actually helps economic development of country.... Like countries of Japan korea and china... So ticket cost is not obvio motto ...it's to do economic development and make life better of ordinary people..
Public transport need not to be necessarily profitable but needs to be self sustainable at least. so that it is maintained by self and pay salaries to employees by self revenue.
It starts from the day it is announced. Locals get enhanced rate for land. Job opportunities till it is constructed. Branding, awareness and accessibility adds to mobility both ways. Exposure and experience motivates and educates. Ease of business, health and education. Infrastructure is almost a basic need for development.
There ate 3 class of people living in India, 1. Upper class 2. Middle class 3. Poor Govt poor class ko free me Health, education and food provide krti hai. Same way middle and upper class ko support krne ke liye bhi different policies hai. Jo Log bullet train project pr ro rhe hai, unko car and flight bhi use nhi krna chahiye aur jo money saving hogi usko gareebo me baat dena chahiye 😂😂😂
Everything that needs to run sustainably should be profitable. For the simple reason that unless Government doesn't have a skin in the game as a stakeholder it's commitment to a certain service will always vary with every regime change, that could snowball into more and more stupidity and waste of resourses and time.
I know in our country there always have been a narrative that “ gareebo ka kya hoga” but they all need to understand that the economically backward group can thrive only if we support the middle class and rich as well, as they contribute the most in tax. They give employment, its like a domino effect. If we dont bring any benefits for then then what will ne the incentive for them to pay taxes and earn more.

neither everyone is meant to be a millioniare nor everyone is meant to live below $5 everyday but that doesnot mean we only need to appease a single of them, They are both in our society and are both required to run this society efficiently. Focusing only on "poors" will make the Wealthier ones to move to UK, UAE, Australia to actually get what they deserve of their tax payed. This appeasement politics will take us nowhere but even backward if compared to our rivalry China. Poor people thinks it's their right to use(exploit in most of the cases) public infrastucture as they want. We all know how badly our Railways is managed and noone in any government has guts to adjust the ticket prices in order to decrease the losses. All the money is once again looted from them wo can actually pay, if you'll see the price difference between general/SL and 3AC/2AC it will blow your mind and then the so called "poors" think they're the one who are getting exploited by this economy
The public transport systems need to find other ways of revenue generation. This can include revenue streams like advertising and food catering services (better than existing). This will allow for increasing the revenue without any major increase in costs.
This thought process that govt should subsidise the public transport is superficially correct. But it opens a Pandora box in which every mismanagement and failure of staff in collecting revenues is shielded under the blanket of subsidy. A minor loss for mobility is ok but subsidising 90% of operation cost is dangerous. Delhi metro vs Kolkata metro is the best example. Delhi metro is profitable therefore well managed, maintained and developing. Whereas Kolkata metro is in loss therefore it is in shambles. Public transport should strive to get atleast break even with operational costs when running at 80% capacity. Otherwise it will do more harm than good to economy and government.
for government transportation system profit should not be their first priority Their first priority should take people from point A to point B most Comfortablely by saveing time
Government should invest in Public transport but Government shouldn't subsidize the first class tuckets please see the avg. per ticket subsidies in Indian railways the highest is in the first class AC though it is cross subsidized by 3rd class AC we should pass those things on the 3rd economy class AC and In Case of Bullet train we should look in a few things Cost (minus the land Acquisition Cost)+ net rate of Interest(adjusting to inflation) + maintenance cost is equal to the ticket Sales in period of loan * Adjusting the inflation + direct and indirect increase in TAx collection due to this project, if it is equal or skewed towards the 2nd equation then we should go through with it .
I have one question. Always people talk about the poor and the underprivileged. But the fact is they are overprivileged in our country, at least in Bengal. But why does no one think about rich as well? Why would they stay in this country if the country does not provide them with anything? If I have a lot of money, I will want to have a better means of transport than a local train. But I don't have any option. And why does people not think about the fact that it is the businessmen and the corporates running the economy, so if a faster transport system is present, the economy will grow because it will attract other business people to invest in our country.

But how do you reliably count it? and if you can't reliably count it to the last t how do you become a conscious decision maker? Either we need extremely improved data collection to be able to track those benefits or we have to use money as the only relevant indicator of sustainability.

Uss time japan bahut kharab State me tha, ww2 ke incidents vagera
But still they made bullet train and see now its one of the best train systems of the World.
Dheere dheere hamara per capita income badega and we will start spending more and will need these morden facilities
For eg:- iam 20years old
I still remember jab when i was very small we used to travel to my home town in sleeper class overnight.
After sometime we usually took 3ac overnight
Now, just before covid and after, iam talking flights to my hometown
It saves me time, much more convenient and comfortable..

Very eyes opening video
I don’t know people don’t understand they want developments like china but also want to protest against any diff done by govn
Because Development destroys environment
It will reduce travel time, working people traveling to city for work from tier 2 cities return home by night reducing pressure from tier 1 cities
it will compete with Airlines and provide choices.
As for the cost whenever any new projects gets started initial cost will always be high but after that cost of making the projects will decrease.

Yes, otherwise people misuse anything
cost recover karne ayenge tab gareeb chutiya "me garib hu" victim card nikalenge
Well said! Many people fail to understand the bigger picture

Singapore is the great example of this
There ate 3 class of people living in India,
1. Upper class
2. Middle class
3. Poor
Govt poor class ko free me Health, education and food provide krti hai.
Same way middle and upper class ko support krne ke liye bhi different policies hai.

Gud information
Public transit should not make any loss. Maintenance will be affected also it will affect when it needs upgrades and extensions.
Nice explanation
It's not loose, but lose. Loose is the opposite of tight and lose is the opposite of win/gain.
Everything that needs to run sustainably should be profitable. For the simple reason that unless Government doesn't have a skin in the game as a stakeholder it's commitment to a certain service will always vary with every regime change, that could snowball into more and more stupidity and waste of resourses and time.
That's why we ppl have our votes to keep government accountable

Very nice analysis.
A country without poor may survive. But a country without rich may bankrupt.
for government transportation system profit should not be their first priority
Their first priority should take people from point A to point B most Comfortablely by saveing time
Love the explanation
Indian should embrace the new habit and they should leave old habit.
Ek aur baat public transport se carbon emissions kam hota hai . Jisse v country ko benefit hota h.
