As a child growing up I used to watch Dick Emery on TV with my mum and Dad, on a Saturday night. Fond memories of times gone by ,may he rest in peace ❤.
I love him on tv but I do not no w stars die the graveyard are a mess I pay my poll tax and look at some graveyard can you till me do we let the graveyard go to shit
Wow , I can't believe he's been gone so long .I used to watch him with my late father , which was nice as dad didn't laugh very much . Thank you for that Dick ,Rest in Peace sir .
Hi Paul, I go to that churchyard regularly and clean and tend to two graves close by to Dick Emery’s grave. I can confirm that it is the original stone which has just been cleaned. It’s amazing how they can come up using the correct materials. I cannot take credit for the clean but I did contact the family around a year ago to volunteer to clean it. It must have sparked them an idea 💡 Great work as usual Paul 👏🏻
He passed away on my 10th birthday, loved his humour, although all through his show my nan would sit and tut. RIP lovely Mr Emery, great work on the channel as always❤
Thank you Paul . You mention he was a keen pilot and I read somewhere he flew his Tiger Moth to a party he had been invited to landing in a field next to the house, imagine that happening nowadays , he was Some boy alright , I grew up in the 70s and loved all his characters some of which wouldn't be allowed in today's society. A real talent .
I loved this guy when I was a kid he always on Tv very funny I had 3 favourite's when I was younger ...Dick Emery/Morecambe and Wise and Benny Hill ..wish I could go back in time back to the good old days
Lovely memories of 1970s TV, watching with mum and dad. So funny. Sadly a sign of the times that so many churches lock their doors now. Nice that someone cares to renew his stone
going up in the 70s to what a great lot of laughs he gave us,his drag queen clips were so funny and what a great funny man is was hard to believe he's been gone 40 years now.
He was an amazing comic and wildly funny.I adored watching him.My close friend and neighbour had a friend to stay for a few days whilst they were away.I saw this young guy leave the cottage a few times.I found out later that it was Dick Emery’s son.Probably Nicholas as the age would have been about right.Just down the road from Walton-on-Thames.A lovely resting place and so peaceful and rural. It seems he worked incredibly hard all his life.I’ve such fond memories of watching him.
I used to like the skinhead character he played along with with Roy Kinnear as his dad. Especially the sketch where he throwed a brick at a Jeweller's window and it bounced back and knocked him out! When he came round he said "I got it wrong again, dad", as he would always get things wrong.
A time when comedy really was comedy and we were free to enjoy it , sadly all thats gone now Dick was so talented and have such a range of charachters to portrayal, glad to have lived in a time when he was at his pinnacle
Thanks Paul. I still laugh at Dick Emery clips every day on Twitter. You'd never know he had stage fright. He always came across as very confident and funny. Wasn't there a story that after his death his body went missing?
Another great tribute to a very talented comedian Paul.. I used to watch him with my mom and dad on a Saturday night..he usually was on when generation game..or Eric and Ernie or Mike yarwood were taking a break...really funny and a bit undervalued in my opinion..he just made us laugh with his characters and make up😂...a very nice church and peaceful resting place..cheers Paul..hammergazz
Thanks for this, my friend. Life is so strange as he died on 19th May 1983 and on the 9th May 1983,I left my beloved Inner South East London to move to this house in Outer South East London/Kent just 11 miles away. In 1972 in my first Central London job I was talking about Dick Enery and my Pakistani friend: thought I was talking about a "Digger Murray" lol
A comedy genius indeed , loved watching his show made us all laugh he was so funny , I remember saying his catch phrase so I could push my friends lol. I didn't know he was such a ladies man just goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover. Loving the cemetery especially the rabbit that was a lovely extra, shame the church was closed. Thank you for sharing as always
Wat a character so funny a genius in comedy such laughter he brought to our screens an into our living rooms rip dick emery true comic thanks Paul 👍👍👌👌👍👍👏👏👏👏
Brilliant comedian the 70s were so so good with Tommy Cooper, Morecombe and wise, and Dick Emery and many more, well done Paul another brilliant vlog, cheers mate.
Loved it Paul, and seeing you drive in at the start and off at the end. Dick was great, made us laugh, and that's a 'gift' ! "Paul, You are aurfull" ❤❤
Another excellent episode- thank u Paul for bringing back happy memories. Used to watch Dick Emery as a child in the 70s/80s. Very funny man and those characters and their catchphrases have stayed with me all these years later.

Thanks Paul another fantastic show.yes dick emery omg he was a very very funny man who bought so much laughter into the lives of millions of people.he was admired world wide for the array of characters he portrayed R.I.p Dick emery and thanks for all the laughs
Was watching one of his shows yesterday (algas are working well) and I had a smile on my face through the whole show. He nails the characters. The old boy he did with the gurning jaw is bang on.
A Saturday night TV institution in Britain in the 1970s. Loved his show as a child. I also saw him live on stage at the Princess Theatre, Torquay in the summer of 1974.
Hi Paul I agree with you he was a comedy genius and very funny loved watching his show as a kid shame we don't have these kind of people around anymore anyway take care stay safe m8 👍
Thanks Paul for the video. Dick Emery was one of the best of the best, his characters he portrayed were done to perfection, goodness knows how many takes they took. It’s a shame he suffered so badly from stage fright, I read in his biography that he was often physically sick at the thought of going on stage. Died really young, and never to be replaced. RIP Dick
Thanks for this Paul, Dick Emery such a talented funny man loved watching him on TV when I was young. Loved his character the vicar so very funny, a big loss of comic genius may he rest in peace 🌹💓 ,
He was funny I remember watching him with my mum. He certainly had a full busy life . Died young such a shame. Thanks for sharing love from Holmfirth West Yorkshire 💙💚
A great character actor that those of us of a certain age will remember very fondly! One of the kings of Saturday night TV viewing, when you switched on BBC1 for Basil Brush and stayed with the channel for Doctor Who, The Generation Game, etc, and finished with Starsky & Hutch or Kojak, then Match Of The Day and Parkinson. If you're lucky, an episode of Bilko too, then closedown!
I went to the same school as Dick Emery's son Nicholas. We were both at Arundel House School I Surbiton until we were 12 or 13 years old. I went to his house at Thames Dutton several times. Once for his birthday party. He had a smashing tree house in his back garden.
Used to see him around Walton on Thames on his various motorbikes. He also came to the Police families Christmas parties at Walton Police Station in the late 70’s every year. Great entertainer.
Hi , I remember growing up in England watching him and when we moved to Australia in 1969 we watched him he was so funny . My sister who was younger than would say awe you are awful my dad would tell us to go on tv . I dressed up as his vicar character for a party . Our vicar would just shake his head he was English too . But we all loved him in our family . Thankyou God bless Karen and family in Australia 🙏👍🥰🦘🐨🇭🇲
My Dad took me on a trip to Castell Coch (in South Wales), & we couldn't go in as Dick Emery was filming there! That was early 80s. Thanks for another interesting & respectful video.
I'll resist the urge to say it, but I will say I'm very much looking forward to your visit and tribute to this wonderful comedy great. lol See you at 7, Paul! 😎
Wow ! you wernt kidding when you said womaniser. Great comedian, talented man, one of my favourite sketches was the driving test centre, brilliantly written. Thanks paul.
❤❤Thank you so much for showing the grave of dick emery. He was a very funny man. He is sadly missed by everyone who knew him. May he rest in peace. Thank you once again Paul ❤ ❤
Ahhh Paul, such wonderful visit to a legendary great of British entertainment. He absolutely was an influence on some later comics who became icons of British comedy. It was great to hear that he brought you so much joy from watching his hilarious show in the 70's, he certainly had a wonderful gift for making people laugh. Thanks for another lovely video, it might sound weird, but your graveyard visits really do bring some joy to the day. lol :)
Thank you Paul, a fascinating story. I loved watching Dick Emery, he was a very funny and talented man and all his different characters were hilarious. I remember watching the Dick Emery show every week with my grandmother - happy memories. These were the days when there were funny people on television 😂. I liked his character of the vicar best and then his one of the skin head 😂. Didn’t realise he had such a complicated marital life, I lost count of all his different women ! Lovely peaceful church yard RIP Dick Emery and thanks for all the laughs .
Thanks for the fantastic video Paul. I really love to watch every video if I have time for that. Have a great week and take care. Greetings from Germany Melinda
Dick emery was a very funny man loved Sunday nights watching his shows growing up takes me back hilarious thanks for this one Paul rip dick emery and thankyou 😊❤️
Dick Emery's character of the vicar was emulated I'm sure by Harry Enfield's character of a vicar with the teeth. Such a pioneer of caricatures was Dick. Cheers Paul, 67...blimey no age really these days
Thanks Paul. I grew up watching Dick Emery too. My dad was a huge fan, and it was family entertainment then. Clearly a troubled soul like so many great comedians. May he rest in peace.
Back in the 70's and 80's, TV was such a totally different form. I have often thought about how TV entertainment was created, especially for the weekends. True family entertainment shows from the Generation Game, Mike Yarwood, The Two Ronnie's, It Ain't Half Hot Mum. Shows that stick with me ever since. Shows unfortunately we'll never see again. The Dick Emery Show is one of them. Very sad.
Proper bloke, of the past. In his time very funny. Reminds me of Saturday nights at home in the 70’s. I should imagine he was a nice man, rip Dick, wonder how he would do today? Thanks Paul.
As a child growing up I used to watch Dick Emery on TV with my mum and Dad, on a Saturday night. Fond memories of times gone by ,may he rest in peace ❤.
I was a member of the Air fix moddlers club as a kid, my favourite characters was the old man lamp wick
You always knew when the sketch was going to end with “you are awful but I like you” and yet you always laughed. Mark of a comedy genius.
Dick emery use to have a big launch he had in torbay Harbour when he was appearing at the theatre.
And the trip / stumble by Mandy.
An absolute Legend and for us 50+ folk, a joyful reminder of a wonderful man
Thanks Paul
I love him on tv but I do not no w stars die the graveyard are a mess I pay my poll tax and look at some graveyard can you till me do we let the graveyard go to shit

and if it wasn't Bilko, it would be John Steed and Emma Peel, with that great opening sequence.
Saturday night’s television was great at that time.

I forget these stars of the past, with their humour, that use to make my Mum and Dad chuckle and we’re part of tv watching at the time.
Thanks Paul. I grew up watching Dick Emery too. My dad was a huge fan, and it was family entertainment then. Clearly a troubled soul like so many great comedians. May he rest in peace.
I remember watching the Dick Emery Show when I was a kid. Roy Kinnear was a regular on the show. Roy and Dick would play father and son "bovver boys".
