Kirsty Macccoll… still brings tears to my eyes. What an incredible shame and loss 😢. Still sorely missed.
It don't sit right with me
Yes she died saving her son, such a talent and a distinctive voice too.
Loved kirsty. New England. Hell of a song
@@nikmason6873 Absolutely great song indeed.
@@EM-yk1dw Thanks. I wrote it.
Richard Beckinsale loved to party. I was working at Chelmsford Prison and was there when they filmed the Porridge movie. How Witzend productions got permission to film in a real prison is beyond me. However, the prison was being refurbished having suffered fire damage so I guess that helped. Richard would visit various nightspots whilst there and would turn up on set the worse for wear the next day. As a result, he did not remember a lot of his lines. Ronnie Barker on the other hand was the exact opposite and would be word perfect every time. Even so, Richard was a very likeable character, I was so shocked when he passed away so young.
All names I grew up with and so sad that the majority of them were so young. I was particularly shaken when Richard Beckinsale died unexpectedly. I was only a kid still at school but he was such a household name and so handsome.
Thanks for keeping these people's names alive, Paul.
People are so quickly forgotten these days.
Great video again Paul. Mortlake is a beautiful Crematorium. My nan and grandad were cremated there.
One comedian cremated there was Charles Hawtrey. He didn't get many at the funeral, but he was my favourite carry on actor.
Take care
Nice presentation, very respectful as always.
Lovely video Paul you are so lovely sorry you had a wasted journey you always make me smile you are funny and sweet ❤️
No reason to be disappointed or annoyed.
You have showed us a beautiful place with interesting information. Even if we know now that the plaques are not there, we know that these people were cremated here.
Still a nice way to remember them. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
@@UnusualThings1 did you know that sid James died on stage in a theatre whilst in a play, his Co star thought he was messing around(as sid usually did) but when he wouldn't wake, an ambulance was called and he was pronounced dead.
Dick Emery is here also , he was one of my faves …. Loved Kenny as well ….what a beautiful place …Thankyou Paul 🥰 xx
I was watching Tommy Cooper when he passed on screen, and people thought it was an act. It was only in the adverts, we heard he'd passed. I remember watching Kenny Everett as well. He used to make me laugh. Anyway cool video Paul. Thank you
Me too, the way he slowly sank into that red silk 'gown', with that blonde headed girl handing him items, I honestly thought it was part of his act, and the audience did too, according to their laughter. Very sad, and shocking. ACCORDING TO WIKKIPEDIA, HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE HAVE DIED DURING PERFORMANCES, ALL OVER THE WORLD, MOSTLY FROM HEART ATTACKS, INCLUDING SYD JAMES, ERIC MORCAMBE AND LEONARD ROSSITER, TO NAME A FEW.
@@MrDaiseymay I can honestly say, at least they passed, doing what they enjoyed doing.
I remember it so well. Sunday a night at the London palladium. I so remember the curtains closing landing on his shins. Then his body being pulled back. We were all laughing but slowly realised something was wrong. Oh so sad when it was announced in the commercial break 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽RIP lovely man xx
Thankyou Paul for showing us around Mortlake crematorium it is a very peaceful setting , also the archways of the building are very ecclesiastical. I didn’t know that Richard Beckinsale, Tommy Cooper were cremated there My Dad always watched Tommy Cooper just walking on stage he made you laugh.
Yes I watched it.it was like he deflated in slow motion.
done in the best possible taste...R.I.P to all that feature in this vlog..comedy at its finest! x
Hi Paul, great video.
Richard Beckinsale was great in Rising Damp as Alan and as Godber in Porridge.
Leonard Rossiter was devastated when Richard passed away.
A truly gifted actor sadly taken way too young. RIP to all on this video.
🙏 all the best from Liverpool 👌.
So was Ronnie Barker.
I think the whole country was devastated too, truly awful R I P
So was both of his wife's and daughters
Tommy Cooper's funeral was held nearby at Mortlake Crematorium, after which his son scattered his ashes in the back garden, over his father's favourite daffodils. Like the dragons that adorned the rockery, these were reminders of Tommy's Welsh roots
Hope this helps Paul and thank you for all that you do I think your youtube videos are incredible and I look forwards to seeing more of them
You might like to visit Tommy Coopers statue. In it in the car park opposite the Castle in his home town Caerphilly South Wales. I was there a few years ago when it was unveiled by Sir Anthony Hopkins.
It's a shame about the plaques, but for some reason, seeing the setting and the ambience is nice in itself. I wouldn't be surprised if they were somewhere inside, just to make sure no one prised them off! Thanks for the tour. Looks like a beautiful place to be laid to rest.
Brilliant video Paul, such a loss to entertainment they were all class.
Glad you did Richard Beckinsale i was just asking about him. I was only 18 when he died. I had such a crush on him. Thank you paul for featuring him.
My sister fancied him as well. 😆 she was about the same age as you.
kenny everett wanted to feel the spring sunshine on his face one last time so his sister helped him to the window and accidentally stood on his foot he shouted F@&£ing hell and it turned out to be his final words lol i loved kenny
Kenny was brilliant at comedy sketches.
Me and my dad was doubled up laughing when he done sid snot and the General etc. 😆 🤣
@@davidm3maniac201 My favourite one was the 'Broadcasting Under Manager' sketch with Terry Wogan 🤣 ( It's available on UA-cam )
It was all done in the best possible taste 💔⚡️
😆😆😆😆 brilliance.
We had telethons in the 80s here in New Zealand and I remember Kenny Everett being in at least one of them here, plus he was in a Just Juice ad
It doesn’t matter if you don’t find the plaques. Joining you in the walk around is enough 😘
Never realised robert shaw and Kenny Everett were cremated at mortlake,
I used to live across the rd from the crematorium,
I knew Tommy Cooper and richard Beckinsale was there , as they used to live in chiswick...
I would take my kids there, beautiful area, on chiswick Bridge.
Tommy Cooper and Kenny Everett, big fan of both those gentlemen. Thank you.
Kenny Everett grew up watching him so sad they died so young. What a beautifully kept cemetery wish they were all like that. Thank u for taking your time out to look for these people,it’s a huge semetry,we admire the work and your hours u put into making these great vids. Thank u
Thank you Paul for the quick response about Richard Beckinsale. Even just to see the wooden plaque was enough to know he won't be forgotten.
Although I've lived in Thailand for the past 24 years I was born and raised between Surbiton and Kingston.
So Mortlake was very near to my home area.
Many thanks for the memories you've bought me.
I was about 12 or 13 when Richard Beckinsale died. I had a girly crush on him. I cut out all the write ups of him from the papers and stuck them in my mum's photo album. I still have them today
''Bloodbath at the House of Death'' was a fantastic horror comedy! My father had the ex-rental in the mid 80s. Tommy Cooper is one of my all time favorite comedians. I heard about his death on stage, never wanted to see it, but accidentally I saw it just a few years ago. Greetings from The Netherlands
Stop being so unsure. We love you. Thank you for taking me with you. Please take care of yourself and be safe.
He needs to build his confidence. He is a lovely guy with lots of empathy and is great at what he does.
I’m ok, just get annoyed when I can’t find it 🤣😂🤣
I have plenty of confidence, just get the hump when I don’t achieve my goals 😂🤣🤣
@@UnusualThings1 you get annoyed. Never. Never seen you even have a frown
@@UnusualThings1 well. Your well and truly liked you have a lovely manner and you just have compassion and you treat everyone with respect. Not many you tubers come across like you. So be proud
Awww I loved Kenny Everett. Such a funny guy.
Great video , Robert Shaw was an amazing actor.
My grandparents have their ashes buried there too and have a plaque, it’s inside.
I ABSOLUTELY ADORED KENNY EVERRIT ONE OF THE FUNNIEST PEOPLE ON TV THE TV EXECUTIVES USED TO CRAP THEMSELVES SPECIALLY WHEN HE WAS LIVE CAUSE THEY NEVER KNEW WHAT HE WAS GOING TO DO NEXT I MEAN PLEASE CUPID STUNT AND NO ONE CLICKED IM LAUGHING NOW JUST WRITING THIS HE LOCKED HIMSELF IN THE STUDIO SO HE COULD PLAY THE WHOLE OF QUEENS BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY. LOVED HIM MISS HIM ❤️🍀😂
Yes agree, such a legend
I remember watching Tommy the night he died he was my dad's favourite when Tommy went down I remember dad's face changed and he said that's not an act he's gone I was young at the time asked him what he ment he looked with tears in his eyes I don't know if it was from the laughter or sadness and he said he's dead always stayed with me that night RIP Tommy
I enjoyed, it really is a pretty place. I sure know Robert Shaw and Tommy Cooper (seen that footage), very sad most these quite young. Thanks 😊 🇺🇸
Imagine the career Richard would of had if he had survived. Taken way too young. He was only starting out in his career x
If he had realised his chest and arm pain were signs of a heart attack and had gone to hospital, he might still be with us.
His daughter has done well for herself though. Beautiful looking girl
Another great story about Tommy Cooper: he was on holiday in Egypt and saw a market stall selling fezzes. He tried one on and the owner said "Just like that!". Tommy asked how the stallholder knew his catchphrase. The man replied that whenever English people saw his stall, they would put on a fez and say "Just like that!" Now *that* is fame!
To be honest Paul. Just you walking around such a lovely/quiet location with a big sense of peace there is enough. The history you convey of those late/great actors/comedians adds to it all. Thanks.
Hi Paul, a lot of these actors also have plaques at St Paul's church in Covent Garden (aka the actors church). So, those plaques in that picture may be there as that church as it definitely has wooden walls. Love your videos, I'm a keen cemetery enthusiast myself and have been to many cemeteries in and around London. Keep up with the amazing work you are doing. Cheers
Can confirm, Robert Shaw and Richard Beckinsale have plaques at St Paul's.
What a beautiful crematorium thank you still enjoy watching with you xxx
Robert Shaw , so many good roles ‘ The Taking Of Pelham 123 ‘ (1974) fast moving , humorous , New York Cynicism, …..RS as the main villain , Mr Green , Mr Blue etc …classic.
i can see mr cooper in the thumbnail absolute star mate,i also didnt realise so many of those legends were in the same place a nice shock to me that i assumed tommy cooper was on his own somewhere
Beautiful place so peaceful I'm glad you mentioned Richard he was a funny character as Kenny was thank you for another respectful video most appreciated omg Tommy cooper loved him so so funny he was top class well done paul 👍👍👌👌👏👏👏
Robert Shaw was born in Weshoughton Near Bolton not far from where I live. The local Wetherspoons pub is called the Robert Shaw in his memory.
Beautiful setting. Thank you Paul for your hard work and dedication.
Loved Richard in Rising Damp absolutely hilarious 😂 R P I All you amazing legends ❤️
I used to really enjoy watching the Kenny Everett Television Show with his brilliant range of characters.
Sid Snot, Gizzard Puke, Reg Prescott DIY Man amongst many others.
Everett was also great friends with Freddie Mercury who actually agreed to be on an episode of his TV show right in the middle of a tour of the United States.
Freddie apparently flew back especially for to appear in Kenny's show for not even 5 minutes, before catching a flight back to the US to reconvene the tour with the rest of Queen.
Kenny Everett of course, if you watched the movie Bohemian Rhapsody was the one who gave the song airtime on the Radio after everyone else said that the 6 minutes was too long so I think that Freddie in particular was immensely grateful to him.
Lovely cemetery Paul.II remember fondly Tommy Cooper and Richard Beckinsale. Taken far to young.I loved Porridge and Rising Damp - the good old days.Great to watch your videos .
Richard Beckinsale!!! I use to have a big crush on him!! Taken way too soon!!
Love the little laugh when you said "Rent A Dick" 😆
Another beautiful place. Thanks Paul 😊
Hi nicola 💕💐
Hi David 😊, love the emojis 💜 hope you're well and having a nice day.

@@nicola6387 your welcome 🤗
“It was all done in the best possible taste!” (Pun intended). 😂 That has brought up some great childhood memories so please don’t be disappointed not finding them. You really do make this so interesting. 😀😀😀
Kenny Everett = legend 🙌
Loved it when Kenny done that with his legs. 😆 🤣
@@davidm3maniac201 to this day I find it hilarious 🤣
Beautiful grounds and nice singing vioice ;) .We forget how lucky we are in this country to have had some of the best actors ever. Great video as always and seems you bring the sun with you so if you ever visit North Wales we could do with some sun lol.
Hello Paul. It is interesting to see people’s final resting place, burials or otherwise. Have you ever thought of visiting the cemeteries in Birmingham, UK? I believe that the only cemetery in B’ham now open for burials is Sutton New Hall, where my Husband now rests and where I will be with him one day.
I remember Richard Beckinsale well. Also Robert Shaw. Both very good actors.
no witton is still very open for burials
Yes
Hello Paul just wondered if you had ever thought of going to Camberwell new cemetery as there is some graves which you might be interested in when is Freddie the boxer who was shot also they are the Richardsons who were which fault the Krays a lot of family are there you also might be interested in Cadillac Johnny was shot in New Cross in is Cadillac also in the cemetery is Anne Shelton hope you can make this and is very interesting
Thank you again Paul, for another great video....always so respectful x
Tommy Cooper "light bulb, heavy bulb" - still cracks me up even after all these years. Good job well done :)
I remember Armchair thriller. It scared me as a child as well
Hi Paul great show I enjoy all your shows 😀
Eccellent as Always
Iam hooked .
Keep up the good work, much appriciated.
Robert Shaw was one of the best Henry V111s in A Man For All Seasons. And I loved him in the fabulous ‘Jaws’.
‘Farewell and adieu to you fair Spanish ladies,
Farewell and adieu to you, ladies of Spain,
For we’ve received orders to sail back to Scotland,
So never no more shall we see you again’
‘Ha ha.....see you’ve got yer rubbers, Chief’. 🤣🤣🤣
Maybe they were cremated there but their ashes either taken away and scattered elsewhere or the family kept them.
Absolutely stunning. Love the scenery and the architecture. I’ve never heard of any of these people. Thank you for sharing their stories and keeping them alive in that way.
It is always a joy to watch you Paul. Your efforts do not go unnoticed. You are such a kind and caring, considerate man and the world needs more like you. I’m grateful for this video, it looked like a beautiful and peaceful place anyway and you met some nice people along the way. I loved Tommy Cooper. And the rest you mentioned!
Thanks again for another wonderful video, you take away my lonely days off work and I love whatever you post. Best wishes xx
Thank you for that, I’m glad you enjoy the videos. 🙏
Thank you Paul . For your hard work . I really enjoy your videos .👍
this is so morbid but i cant stop watching cos its equally fascinating
Fantastic video paul.really enjoyed it.especially,Kenny Everett and Robert shaw.loved Robert Shaw's drunken boat cabin scene in jaws.one of the greatest scenes in movie history.
Thats because he was really pissed. Robert Shaw was well known for it especially during the filming of Jaws.
Great actor and brilliant in the battle of the bulge
Would love to see the resting place of one of my all time favourite actors, Ronnie barker,
Love your channel great to see someone doing something so different, And what a beautiful grave yard this is
Tommy cooper was so funny and one of my favourites, and I use to watch his show, with my mum n dad...such memories.
That’s a lovely place there,so we’ll kept,and calm .
It’s such a shame people have to die that bring us so much pleasure , fun,and laughter.
God rest all their souls.
I watch Tommy Cooper every few months on UA-cam. He can always get a laugh just by the look on his face. Wonderful comedian.
Every time I see Tommy Cooper it reminds me of my late father in law. He loved him, I can see him now on the settee laughing so much he was crying.
Thank you for reminding us of these folks who have passed. You’re helping keep their memories alive. God bless .
Hi ya Paul, just keep the videos coming, we love to see where you've been and your searching, love Sharon 💜
Thanks paul ,loved all of these guys ❤💞
Tommy Cooper's act was based around being a terrible magician, but in fact he was a 1st Class magician, a member of the Inner Magic Circle. That organisation were very serious and didn't suffer fools gladly. Cooper had to be a master magician in order to be able to ham his act convincingly.
That’s so lovely to hear.
Tommy cooper and his magic, and Les Dawson playing the piano wrong. Both were incredibly difficult to do
🙁Remember see TC drop to his knees live on tv and thought it was part of his act only to see the o'clock afterwards saying he had died🙁.Have been to see Kenny Lynch loved some his music back in the 80's like "half the days gone".
Thanks Paul for looking, very interesting!
Paul you always do youre best and thankyou for all you do. x
What a lovely resting place. Some incredible talent you are talking about a s some great memories.Thank you for yet again another great film.
I watched the show where Tommy Cooper passed away. Like everyone else we thought it was part of the act. It was horrible to witness when you realised someone just died in font of the whole of the UK.
I remember it well for all the wrong reasons such a tragedy rip Tommy cooper
I remember that too.
Watched it also at the time ….. awfully sad …
I saw that too really thought he was clowning about. So a shock when the ten o’clock news came on.
I was watching the show...what a shock it was
Thanks for yet another great video Paul. What a beautiful crematorium and huge. I visited my local churchyard recently in Frinton on sea, just wandering around, reading the headstones and wondering about the people resting there. All of the headstones are old, with some being well over 100 years old. It's a very small churchyard and supposedly one of the oldest in England? Thanks again Paul.
It's a beautifully kept crematorium.
It is very well kept. Knowing you are putting a family member or even yourself somewhere that is cared for is vitally important. Choose with care. Well done to the gardeners.
Robert shaw also starred in battle bulge as tank commander fantastic film he was my favourite in that film. Great videos really like the way you portray yourself plenty information I find it really interesting keep good work up
Yes those eyes when the flaming barrel hit his tank, great actor
Thought Robert Shaw died in Ireland and his, ashes were scattered in ireland
I just said the same before I saw your comment. Lol
He was also known for getting pissed on set especially on the movie Jaws.
The battle of the bulge though is just a brilliant film and my favourite war film.
Another great vlog Paul , keep the good content up my friend x
They had an episode of Through The Keyhole on That's TV on Saturday which featured Kenny Everett (They didn't guess whose house it was)
I was thinking when I watched it most of the people on there had passed away. Kenny Everett, Sir Clive Sinclair (who was the other guest),Sir David Frost (the host) Willy Rushton and Alan Coren (who were on the panel).
Time just seems to vanish so quickly 😪😪
Leonard rossiter was scattered on a rose garden at that crematorium
These were iconic actors/comedians of the golden era of TV probably bigger than the majority you'll see on the box now days due to being quality over quantity. Nice to see a walk round Mortlake even though without the views of the plaques.
Afternoon Paul
Hope your well?
I have just viewed your latest video .
It was outstanding as always
Thank you
Sharon xx
Thank you for this video. I live in the States but my Nana and Grandpa's final resting places are at Mortlake Crematorium and you walked right past their plot a few times, it was lovely to see it again 🙏
Loving your videos, great stars, all gone sadly.Love the tribute you give them.Keep up the good work.
Hi Paul - I’m sure I’ve previously read that, following his funeral, Tommy Cooper’s ashes were scattered in the garden of his London home where he loved to spend his spare time, so there may not be a plaque.
Thankyou Paul for another great video. I look forward to seeing your videos. I still watch Rising Damp and Porridge because of Richard Beckinsale. He also had a great rapport in Porridge with the great Ronnie Barker. Thankyou for another great video Paul
Don’t worry Paul…you took us round a beautiful place again, with the sun shining…shame you couldn’t find these people, but just talking about Richard Beckinsdale brought back such good memories of him performing…very sad he died so young and shame no one picked up when he said he had chest and arm pains earlier….but Kenny Everett and Tommy Cooper were clever, and timing was everything with Tommy. So you brought them back to us memory wise, which was good. Sorry you had to walk round there so much…thought the Crem might have maps of where certain people were resting. Thankyou, and bless you..loved hearing all the bio’s of these people..,fascinating.
Love Helen x🙋♀️💐🥰👏🏻👏🏻😻🌻
Hi Paul, this is Elizabeth from Maesteg, Bridgend, South Wales. Just started watching your UA-cam channel and it is brilliant the way you go into the famous People's life & working career. Keep up the the good work.
I love all your interesting stories on these famous and great people, thanks for the tour round a very peaceful resting place
Glad you enjoyed it
Kenny was too clever for his time. He was so witty and make me laugh oh you have got some proper legends on here today. You bring them all back to life again………. Just like that 😂😂😂❤️❤️
I'm becing addicted to these videos. I love hearing the stories behind these much loved stars, thank you for sharing.
I meant becoming addicted sorry
Richard died way too young, he was a great man
Flipping heck 😍 Paul your tribute to these beautiful memories of some amazing people ❤ of British Media ❤
Love your channel m8 keep up the gd wk.
OMG I was going to comment yesterday you should do Mortlake as there's a lot personalities associated with it. You read my mind and got there quick 😮 Nice one ! I'm going to watch it now and get back to you.......
Love your work mate.Cheers !
Thankyou for a great channel very interesting informative well put together and explained detail about people sadly passed away.
Great video today, well done 👍
My Dad would be bent double watching Tommy Cooper and I could never see it as a kid but now he was a comic genius
Rest in peace Tommy
Really nice tranquil place this, even though no joy with locating the plaques, keep up the good work my friend
Jaws is one of my all time favourite films.I have lost count of how many times I’ve watched it
Hi paul thanks for sharing love the vid.
Thank you for another enlightening tour in the sunshine. What is becoming very clear through your videos is how important it is to choose a beautiful location that is cared for, as your final resting place. It is possible that the souls you seek were cremated at this cemetery but were interred or scattered elsewhere. I am not a fan of scattering as there is no end place for others to seek you out at a later date.
Hi Paul been on holiday just going to watch your video 👍👍👍👍👍 just got back today nice place mate love the video nice one great job 👍👍👍👍👍 keep up the good work tommy cooper what a legend 👍👍👍👍👍
