Ok, so many of you ask how long it takes and program to use. I work on this around 6 months, on & off sporadically in my spare time, and i use adobe animate cc. This one is the longest and hardest to make for me, since its frame by frame not like my other colored one.

A lot of people are wondering what makes almost everyone root for the small guy. There were several subtle psychological tricks that may have caused the vast majority of people to root for the little guy. First of all, he's standing on the left, giving us some sense that we have to get past the big guy. Also the small guy's face is shown earlier and more often, making him more familiar to us. And besides that the huge guy, even though he's in a lot of pain and the fight is equally hard for him, hides it better, whilst the small guy's struggle is clearly shown even forcing him to take painkillers mid-fight, making him more relatable to us.
Ngl I was rooting for the big guy

As a black belt, a lot of research went into this. I love the animation, and its believable. Everyone is gonna get tired, and rather quickly with those kind of hits. Chokes and techniques on point too.
Still, I say - plot-armor.
A big guy like that, hitting so many strikes, some with full force to the head, and you are just strongly exhausted after that?

Hey didn't excpect you to be here!
This is better than most movie fight scenes. It's way more fun to get to see the actual action as a person on the side would see it, instead of rapidly cutting back and forth to different angles every 0.5 seconds and struggling to keep up with the scene. And the fight techniques are so creative and feel very real. Awesome.
Since no one else is gonna say it I really appreciate the sound design of this. It’s one thing to make such fluid animations but a completely other thing to sync up really realistic steps and shoves and grunts

This is the kind of fight that everyone enjoys! There's a clear underdog, yet the big guy doesn't act like a complete moron because of it. Both of them fight dirty, using their various attributes like size, strength, speed, endurance and boosters to their advantage, with neither giving an inch for any reason other than that they were simply bested at that moment.

That is apart from the fancy kicks, flips and backrolls, and the magic drink and rush.
Which is what the original comment meant, this looks more realistic than any other animation fight.
On how they tire quickly, on how the big guy holds the other guy down and tries to keep I'm there while trying to hit his head, when the big guy is being held down in a disadvantageous position he tries to elbow him, and how slow the movement reflects how tired they are getting, aswell as them pausing at the times to catch a breath, the guy trying to chokehold him, the big guy battering him against the ground to prevent it.
He didn't mean this how a real fight is exactly through and through, literallyll, but is by far the most or one of the most realistic in any animation, and the little details in the animation shows the animator as a notion of what a real fight is like, it's obviously greatly embellished in the the things aforementioned for entertainment.
Real fights can end up very prolonged where neither have the upper hand and just attrition themselves out and eitheir give up or somebody separates them, which is the most common.
One curbstomps the other, which is common but not as much as the first.
Or insta knockout, which is very rare, if you get a lucky shot to the chin.

Did you see his Zilla vs Kong video?
Same man and (to a point) the smaller guy "cheated"
@Im Your Huckleberry not just a big brute imo. For me the jab bait into knee 10 seconds in was a kind of character defining moment. He knew little guy would take it because he's used to being written off as "big, dumb, slow" at first glance. In fairness strength and size is a lot of his kit, and he plays to that because it's the hand he has, but he's also taken at least some time to fill in where he might be lacking. He can't throw out dropkicks and leaps like the other guy, but if he'd been just a dumb brute this fight might have ended even quicker
@Im Your Huckleberry are you ok? Your sounding really aggressive
This is significantly better than 99% of anything I’ve seen in major productions lately. Live and animated. Bravo
everything about this fight, is just really good attention to detail.
- the weight of their attacks is there, you can feel the impact with the motion, and you can see that in their exhaustion their attacks become more sluggish and slower as the fight continues. the underdog only gets a boost to have more energy to fight, but even he's being worn out. the heavy breaths being taken, you know this fight is tiring, as most real fights are.
- these hits hurt like hell. a punch, a kick, no matter how strong you are, you're not going to tank a hit like in superhero films and keep fighting like you just got tapped, these kicks and punches really do make you curl up in pain for a bit, and the animation shows that beautifully.
- neither the underdog nor the brute are idiots. agility and speed against a braun and strength isn't played in bias of anyone for plot convenience sake, here they're both using technique that is appropriate for them, and it does something.
besides the directing of how this scene plays out, the animation did a good job at capturing the motion and impacts.
this animation might look simple, black and white with rough sketching, but honestly the delicate details really add to this in ways i think most media lack. people want the flashy, bright colours, stupidly fast paced combat, but a fight shown as it is, a tiresome scuffle, is pretty refreshing.

@@rxycl0 yeah I like that because it didn't actually work, not everything is done correctly or works perfectly in fights. It was the choke that knocked him out, but instead his head slamming into pavement.
I've heard that when you're really in the heat of the fight, you can take some crazy blows and keep going because of adrenaline. It's really only after do you hate your life because you start to feel everything you bruised and broke.
Of course, these two characters are fictional super soldiers, and some of the blows to the head here would most likely topple even the most resilient fighter.

Doesn't take a trained eye to tell this is a masterpiece. I enjoyed every moment. I especially liked how you could feel the difference in power between hits with varying amounts of momentum. For example hits when one of them is in a hold aren't that powerful cause you can't get a lot of momentum but when they land a clean hit with a lot momentum the animation does a good job at emphasizing the impact of those heavier hits like the other is clearly winded or coughing up blood after a hit like that etc.

AR - 08CS - Robert H Lagerquist Sr PS (1473) naw. Chimps usually travel in packs. It’s rare that you see a chimpanzee just walking around on its own. Plus the fact that groups of chimps challenge and kill other chimps to expand territory, I would think that the group of chimps would challenge a singular gorilla instead of running away and subsequently get stomped on

Ya know for as simplistic as this is, the animation quality is off the charts, this is very brilliantly done. Very nice job.
I love the little details that was put into this animation, at 1:58 the small guy puts his left leg flat and his right leg in a position to minimize the damage of the throw which is a technique used in martial arts
I cought this too, I’m so surprised someone noticed this :0

Guys the title literally has "dirty fight" in it,stop saying the shorter guy is a cheater this was a fight of survival not sport.
Well the big guy literally fought fair, even restrained himself on multiple occasions. And I'm not talking about drugs.
They lack of a brain, don't bother explaining
@@platiuscyndar9017 It's not about "fair" in a fight of survival. It's about who comes out *alive*
Platius Cyndar the big guy was already fighting dirty when he picked a fight against a guy 3 times below his weight class. It’d be like you fighting a kid
We don't know either of these two things, by the way.
Especially not if the big guy was the one to pick this fight.
I’m a trained martial artist, done everything from karate to Muay Thai, and this is the absolute best portrayal of combat I’ve seen in awhile. The way the smaller guy uses momentum is exactly what I had to do against bigger guys, of course without the exaggerated effects. Stellar work.
I see. I agree that for martial artist, this fight is normal as long as the big guy isn't a martial artist, bodybuilder and just being a normal human. But the fight itself is not equal, the small is a skilled fighter and using drugs, while the big one is just a normal man (and sometime acts like a moron) so the result is not fair.
@@invisibledude7783it's a common thread in martial arts that smaller people often have better technique, as many bigger guys just brute force their way through. We've all seen tiny guys out-"muscle" guys with 50 pounds in them, easy.
Also, life isn't fair
@@invisibledude7783 I think the big guy is still at least somewhat trained. But I think everyone will start to act a bit dumb after taking 20+ punches and you can see the other guy start to tire out before taking his drugs

David vs. Goliath, except David snorts crack halfway through the fight.
Snorts crack twice
It's an equalizer. He would have had no stamina for the offense he had to put out to break down the larger fellow. I especially like how he didn't make the big guy dumb, and he actually fought very technical as well. I would have been happy with either result.
David would be a metaphor for a smaller man landing a big lucky shot on Goliath the giant.
Not fully skilled ninja man with superior kata vs Bob sapp type.

My favorite part here is the sound choices.
Not every hit has a THWAP to it or some exaggerated impact.

the sound design could definitely have been improved though. Some of the sounds were abrupt and cutout kind of.
I wish I knew what you were saying
To me, the animation was smooth, but I feel that they added a bit too much motion blur tho.
Damnnnn bro , uk what i love watching hand to hand fights which require high level of iq to understand each jab , kick sequence. Loved it man
I love how this animation holds weight and physics accountable. almost every move made could be made in real life with proper training and stamina. this is an amazing animation I can't say it enough
I feel like in some ocasions the weigh is a bit exagerated, the big guy shouldn't have that much of a problem getting himself up with the other guy attached to him even after being exhasuted because of the fight
Lol it’s impossible to win a fight against a giant…only if you use a gun…
@@Azyo62 very much wrong, personal defense techniques recomend to use your attacker's mass against him, as stereotypical as it sounds it's actually true, a large person will most likely be slower than a more nimble one, so if you keep your reflexes on point you can abuse that advantage and counteratack, especially if the large guy has no real training. I am no expert so if you're interested i would advice finding someone with real knowledge and experience somewhere.
@@Ferrari255GTO
Yeah but being taller and bigger is definitely a huge advantage in a fight
@@Azyo62 yesn't. It's different not better. Connor McGregor isn't huge, but he hits like a truck and is extremely agile. You gotta know how to use what you have in order to get the advantage. There are a lot of factors that go in a fight.
I like that the big guy wasn't totally helpless he still left the small guy beaten up
Xavier Figueroa it's refreshing to see a big guy not be a stereotypical "dumb brute"
sunchipsluvah yeah ! Even tho i knew that the small guy will win ... clishe
Lee Gaede except he didn't knock him out with a choke he used his momentum against him to bash his head into the ground
yeah that move is really dangerous against stronger opponent if he would've continued it he was gonna go ko
But even then, the size difference, and taking into account the larger man looks extremely buff would make that move nearly impossible. Especially for the smaller guy. That, and the sheer fact he was able to hold on after being repeatedly hit in the head by him is a bit out there, no?

Easily one of THE GREATEST fight animations ever created. Literally.
Uhh no that's cap chief. While this is a great and fucking amazing fight scene it's not literally the greatest of all time. Now if you where to say it's the greatest made by one individual then maaaaybe its the goat. But even then I'm not sure. But yeah def not one of the greatest animation overall.
It could be if it were a finished product, but this is just a practice. I don’t know who this artist is, but he’d be a great asset to a high-end animation studio
@@Princeomishore That is what I'm saying. Some guy made this with high attention to detail in a masterful way and it's not a studio piece. It's a hobby piece. A great masterful hobby piece. One of the greatest of them. Compare which ever other one you want, but put it next to this and their just both great pieces. Two of the greatest. Understandably though it'd make sense that you or anyone else who'd hear such a claim would need me to explain what angle I'm making it from. It was pretty fallacious, wasn't it
@@IK-yb5rn This is a masterful practice work. It doesn't need to be polished to the full extent of production value. In my opinion, (and my claim is an opinion, albeit a bold and loud one) that's what makes it so great. What was done out of practice became a perfect yet imperfect, brilliant unpolished gem. It doesn't need anything else just because you can improve it. That being said though, what do you see in your mind that could be improved? Because ay, that's cool too
Don't be a nob and force other people to essentially appear as though they're downplaying this piece. Is it an excellent fight study? Yes. It is well done, especially for someone's first animation? Fuck yeah. But it's basically a key animation board at this point, and more importantly it is practice. Beyond that, fights are FAR more than just the punching and kicking, they serve a narrative function and aim to achieve something through the conflict it shows. Some dude made this in adobe animate over about six months, and it's great sure, but it is essentially an art study. If you think this holds even a candle to some of the incredible, polished, and narrative animation work done all over the world by animators that do this professionally then you should watch more animation. You may be able to appreciate how the ways in which this video is actually really great then.
You shouldn't patronise people by calling their work legendary and incredible whilst they're in the process of learning either. Praise is important, but too much seems insincere and probably says you don't really know what you're looking at, or don't care as long as 'lines go flashy move move'. This dude is doing wonderfully, and I'm sure he's gonna animate something really amazing later on in his career.
