I don't know if I've ever seen a team turn into such a pumpkin so fast. The rangers were two games away from the Stanley Cup finals 5 months ago and now they look like the most troubled team in the league.
Yeah I'd say it started when rumors were coming out all offaeason of who Drury wanted to trade. True or not, it had to have an effect on the team. Of which continued into the season. If these rumors are true, I blame the gm for this mess.
As I see it, Drury made two moves, with Goodrow and Trouba, that made total sense from a hockey/financial perspective, but in both cases he leveraged a contractual loophole that essentially lets management bypass trade protection clauses that both guys had bargained for previously and to which they felt entitled. It was technically within the rules but both guys basically got screwed. And he miscalculated big time as to how his key players would react to it. And then he sent out The Memo that exacerbated the situation. He's like a bull in a china shop. But the reaction of his key players speaks volumes about their priorities and their mentality. If their top priority were winning a Cup, they would not have gone from the best team in the regular season and the ECF to the league basement overnight.
So, players are tanking their value, and destroying their reputations because they’re just finding out you’re paid millions of dollars and treated like kings in NYC and if you don’t you’ll be moved? That’s more insulting to me than anything. Team is so soft
Dec 20 - Dallas Dec 22 - Carolina Dec 23 - New Jersey Dec 20 - Hurricanes It looks like the holidays will not be very happy for the Rangers. These nest couple of weeks are gonna hurt
From what I saw from the replay, they actually didn’t look that bad. Granted it’s Nashville, but they did have a ton of chances and looked like they played hard. That last goal was a miscue by Smith. Honestly very unlucky puck luck.
PP1 is sooooo predictable. Kreider. Hold yourself accountable. Mika go pound salt man. Your career is over. Realize how bad you are and do yourself and the Rangers a favor and take personal time away to reset yourself man.
Been saying all last year too. Mika is a liability, especially when he breaks his cheap Chinese Hockey sticks on a power play. Find a new F.#@.g company or go back to wood,, Freak. PS cut your hair now, you don't deserve it or have the honor to wear your hair long, your no super star nor a rock star.
We're so sorry, Uncle Peter, but we haven't done a bloody thing all game. We're so sorry, Uncle Peter, but the buzzer's sounded and now we all must head away...
"Post Game Analysis"? Was this a game? Rangers, in just months, have degenerated from Conference Finalists/Presidents Trophy winners to prey animals for the bottom feeders in the league. To fans the goals against have started to look all the same: A careless giveaway or turnover, a rush down the ice, no physical defense as if the opposing team is wearing "No Contact" jerseys, shooter is untouched, any Rangers back are doing nothing... and the puck gets by the Eleven Million Dollar Man.
That's part of it, yeah, but the result should be that other guys pick up the slack, and if not, then the team is just less dominant than they were last season but still a playoff team. Instead we have a total team-wide collapse that is going to drop them to the bottom of the league standings. Because there's more to it.
This is on Drury and management miscalculations, so you want to win the cup you trade the captain with a loophole and have his name smeared in papers yep that will make my team play better and will want the best players come and play here to help win you the cup got it!!!
Literally top to bottom this team is doing everything wrong. Drury: screws locker room and trades the captain on a cup or bust year. Gets Smith who is another player that is known to not play hard after getting cup. Lavi: rempe is not in. Last game Mackey actually looked like someone who cared and he's not in tonight. Guys who have been playing are getting more time till a little bit recently. Players: ultimately its on them and the entire team needs to play better and harder. Never gonna win not being hard working team
Agree. That last sentence especially is right on target. We are being outplayed and outworked by less talented and less experienced teams who simply want the win much more.
The Rangers traded their Captain in 2015 and came within 3 wins of a Stanley Cup. Drury made two moves, with Goodrow and Trouba, that made total sense from a hockey/financial perspective, but in both cases he leveraged a contractual loophole that essentially lets management bypass trade protection clauses that both guys had bargained for previously and to which they felt entitled. The problem is that the key players know that Drury is gonna have a very hard time trading any of them, because they each have some combination of trade protection + burdensome contract + recent performance slide that will make it difficult or impossible for him to do so for any return value. They are trying to force Drury out.

It really has turned into a pumpkin 🎃

Hank looks like he wants to come out of retirement just to help.
I need some positivity: I’m starting to follow the best prospects of the 2025 draft.
In the middle of Dec? Yikes...just shows how far this team has fallen
ha don't get your hopes up... we can't develop players
Never thought I'd see Pittsburgh leapfrog NY in the standings this season. Truly impressive implosion.

This team if that's still what you wanna call them have officially become irrelevant
They do practice with each other, right? Can’t tell whether for an exorcism or last rights, but they need a priest in the clubhouse.
Dec 20 - Dallas
Dec 22 - Carolina
Dec 23 - New Jersey

RAnGerS Playing MySpace Hockey.
#94nevermore
This team looks like they may not win another game this season.
One of the worst collapses ever.
PATHETIC
I think The Penguins stole The Rangers MOJO. 😂
I think Drury did
PS Where is Brodzinski?
Opening day only 100 days away! ⚾️ LGY!!
This core is rotten. Send another letter and keep only Panarin, Trochek and anyone below 25 years old.
Sad 😞

Whats the matter Steve? Why you looking so glum?... Maybe you should start talking about Jack Hughes showboating again
At least the yanks got Bellinger

Please trade the entire roster besides Cools and Chytil. Everybody else can go tbh.
Too old overnight. Star players a step slower this year. Sometimes it happens that fast.
I think you hammered the nail right on the head there. It looks like several players have lost a step or 2 and simply can't keep up now.
They just don’t care to work hard to be better.

Too bad. From the mountain top to the valley in one year. Playoffs? Maybe
i think they had alot of chances trocheck wasnt very clear about thay
Its just sad.
Sad sad sad sad sad sad sad sad

Maybe try playing Instagram hockey? 🤣
Love to see it! LGD
Can’t imagine being such a loser that you watch and comment on your favorite teams rivals page. New level of clown 🤡
Start calling people out...stop being soft like the team your covering

BS commentator Nashville feel a lot better shutting out NY and get 2 pts out of it.
This team sucks
Play rempe and Mancini
disgusting
Hey this is an incredibly sensitive, soft and weak minded team. Mika needs to go hes to sensitive to be a pro athlete
He has a full NMC through 2028-2029 so he's going nowhere unless he wants to.
☹👎🚾
Maybe the rangers should play instagram hockey
They all hate Drury right? Yet they are literally banging on his door 🚪 begging to traded next. 🏒🍸🎄
