Hi Dr. Linkov. I mentioned the needleless prp to my dermatologist because I’d heard you mention it before. I couldn’t explain it clearly and she had no idea what I was talking about. She said it made no sense if there wasn’t a needle injection. I’m so glad you mentioned it here; now I know I’m not going crazy, 😋. I hope this becomes more known in the medical community. Damn! I missed this Q&A. I would have asked which plastic surgery causes people to gain that Daffy Duck type speech impediment. I've noticed that Goldie Hawn has it, and the woman who plays Charlotte on the Sex and the City reboot. Nicole Kidman has it slightly as well. I would love to know what they're all doing that makes it so hard for them to speak clearly.
I just ran across you channel. And I heard you say that you did head and neck surgery. After my military service, and an allergic reaction to a chemical during my service, I tend to get tumors. About 20 years ago, they found 2.5 inches of pleomorphic adenoma (possibly 2 tukors, the doctor was unable to find a connection between them) the first location was behind my right ear, the larger 1.5 inch tumor was described as an upside down pyramid involving my facial nerve and continued up under my right eyeball. The head and neck specialist did a great job, I'm not trying to put him down, but not only were the tumors removed, but my upper right salivary gland and 4 or 5 lymph nodes were also removed. During the extraction of the deeper tumor, there was a 'spill', which resulted in the need to 'scrub' out the inside extraction area. That the back history.
The swelling from the surgery affected the closing and the location of my right ear. Once the swelling went down, a rather sizable dent was revealed from the removal of all that tissue. There is also slight nerve damage to my facial nerve, considering a large section of that nerve had to be removed from the larger tumor,, I feel luck at very slight nerve damage. But the nerves that had once been attached to my saliva gland, decided to find itself a new job, and found a path to my sweat gland. Yes, so now I need a napkin for my right side of my face when I eat. (Very embarrassing, and makes make up impossible to wear. So my problem is a combination of all of these issues that when faced one at a time, isn't that troubling, but combined... smh.
I've gotten a septoplasty done a few years ago.. the septum stayed straight for a few weeks after surgery but then changed back into its original position.. Very sad, because the the healing process was very painful for me.. You said surgeons can easily mess this procedure up, so I wonder if the way they operated on me contributed to the septum not staying straight or if it has more to do with my specific anatomy and the way I've healed. I've read that no matter what, there's always a change a septum will deviate back after the surgery. Not sure about the accuracy of that statement though..
