I was about to spend more than tiwce this on another smart toilet, ordering this one intead. Thanks so much... and thanks for all the pro tips! Super useful.
You guys are also the reason why I'm going into construction as a career. I hope that this lets you guys know your doing your best and inspiring people out there like me!
Crazy I started out in the electrical trade a year ago and within two months I found a builder who took me in and I’m now doing everything I’ve been watching with you guys over two years building from the ground up I’m 27 and found a career I know I’m going to love and do the rest of my life thank you guys for all you do !!
As someone who's been in the field 20 years, let me give you a few tips: never forget to stretch in the mornings before starting work and in the evenings before you get sedentary; always lift with your knees and never twist at the waist with a load-turn your whole body; and no matter what the other guys on the site might say, WEAR YOUR PPE. Head, eyes, ears, respirator, knee pads, safety toe shoes. That stuff is no joke. You never think it'll happen to you until it does and then it's too late. Contracting work can be really rewarding but it can be hell on your body if you let it.
Good luck entering a career in which you get to compete with millions of illegal 3rd world immigrants.
@@DarkSeraph351knee pads for sure
That is awesome!
"I'm gonna go freeze me some rocks" Ray never fails to make me laugh
Growing up I watched a lot of home building and renovation shows on tv, this channel has to be at least 5x better than any of those.
Man, y'all are going to have some of the cleanest posteriors in North Carolina! .
No shit
It also has that feminine wash feature he talked about. I think that would be even more useful for someone like Erik
🤣
Like Erik's mother-in-law, we all LOVE Jamie. You too Erik, and the CREW.
Was having a stressful ass day. But YOU guys really ground me and it brings me so much joy to just watch y’all get shit done and hear Jamie’s random facts which we all love tbh. Thank you all gentlemen. You guys are just the absolute best.
That’s for watching! I’m glad it brightened your day
im in school for construction here in iceland and have just found your channel like a week ago and am just absolutely loving these videos, very informative and hilarious. It really solidified in my mind that I picked the right profession.
It’s a good life doing construction
Erik, I’m fully in the #LetJaimeTalk camp. However, it seems you have found Jaime’s kryptonite. You can keep a cooler of sandwiches on hand and bring one out as an incentive when you want him to be more concise.
Let Jaime Eat! :)
Johno Eating through the window was easily the best/funniest part of this video... Keep up the great content!
13:44 "It's idiot proof, that's for you buddy". Poor Jay 🤣
An architect here with a pro tip! When using a floor leveling compound or a self-leveling topping, I'd suggest providing a double sill plate, that way you have plenty of room to level, up to the thickness of your first sill plate, and then you still have room to nail your gyp or other finish! This even helps in new constructions where the floor sheathing is relatively level, because we often spec a 1/2" to 3/4" thick gypsum floor topping to help with the acoustics of the floor assembly! Love the videos, keep up the good work guys!
What i did for self-leveling is that i drilled in some tiny screws around 1 meter apart, set the laser on the ground, marked it on my screwdriver and i adjusted all the screws in/out to create a level surface. Then spray painted the screw heads bright yellow so i can see it and then it was really easy to pour in and adjust push it around until it was level with the scewheads.
That's sorta what Jaime was suggesting, but Erik didn't want to perforate the vapor barrier.
That’s so damn smart, thank you
It is good to see two brothers work so well together
Man, y'all are going to have some of the cleanest posteriors in North Carolina! 😂
That's what is expected for $1000 😮😮😮
@@bundylam I had to check too ... but the Toto toilet everyone was yapping about from the builder's show is like $5000 so if you really want heated bidet and all those fancy features this is a BARGAIN :)
Hey I love that insider carpenter knowledge about putting stupid boards on a wall. That kind of knowledge only comes from experience and if I can learn a few things to save me some headaches on my own renovations, it's very much appreciated.
I am always amazed how well Jamie does with the prosthetic fingers. He was one lucky boy. Home office is starting to really take shape now.
That toilet is a REAL THRONE!
this is the first ive heard of Whiskey Rocks 🤯
I am not in construction but I love your videos for the humour, your amazing team and the wonder of seeing a house built from start to finish. TFS. Love you guys.
As a retired Australian carpenter, I enjoy watching something I know so well, done in different ways due to climate and other local factors. Awesome as always. 👍
Pro tip
Put long handles on your rollers.
Love the channel. I have been watching for almost 3 years now. Pro tip of the day. The make handles that screw into the roller so u don’t have to bend over like that. Pro tip #2. U can turn your saw blade backwards on the reciprocating saw so that you can cut close to the ground when cutting out the door 😂😂😂
As a 70yr old Nan in S.E. Qld Australia I've watched you guys building homes with grace and humour for ages now. I keep hoping my delinquent grson will watch the videos I send him and pray the light will turn on in him to get an apprenticeship instead of just talking about it. God works in mysterious ways His wonders to perform, so absolutely NOTHING is out of the realm of possibilities for Him. You boys never know just how God can use your building business and or your videos to transform lives. THANKYOU for the dedication to getting it right and keeping it Light. Blessings y'all from Ipswich. I pray you'll help turn a lost delinquent into a prodigal son. 🇦🇺🤗🙏💞👌👍✌️👏✝️🇺🇸
When I did ship lap in my wife's craft room, I opened the window. Passed the 12' boards through the window.
"Who knew there was so much to say about putting stupid boards on a wall."
That is why we watch you! 😂❤
I like the lap siding, it looks very nice ! What an improvement !! I LOVE YOU ALL @ P.B.B.!!!!!
I love this project! As much as I enjoy watching brand new houses being built this is more my style!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Love watching all your videos - thank you for sharing.
Looking fab it will be great in the end
Love watching the progress! We too had to level our floors 🤪 took several layers!!!
18:29 that pan over to johno is pure comedic gold lol
I really enjoy how you and your brother get along!! 👍👍👍😎🇨🇱
Great job guys
Thanks team, another great episode. I really look forward to your videos.
When butting into imperfect masonry it really helps to grind out a channel for the wood to slide into…essentially mortise out the stone. Make 2 to 3 vertical kerf cuts typically abt an inch deep & chip out the masonry then just slideeee in the veneer(whether it’s sheathing, hardy corner board, etc)
Guys save your backs and use an extension pole for the rollers
Love the show and the information you provide like cold rocks
Thanks for the link to the Sashco sampler pack, got mine today and was impressed with all the variety of samples they sent!
Couple things, the windows open and they make handles for rollers.
Cools the drink without diluting it. I remember my parents had pink elephant for that 😂
All of the luxury!! No one holds your hand!!
I just love these videos
great job guys thanks for the video
I love your videos guys. You all work so well together and do such nice work. Cheers guys!
I always enjoy watching your videos very good information im learning a lot thank you guys...
We just built a sunroom, off the back of the house, using the exact same shiplap. It came 16 feet long, so no butt joints for our room. We also put it on the ceiling. We ordered ours prestained. The room looks so good, we love it.
I do like the boards better than dry wall. Like how you caulk along the rock. Enjoyed watching and thanks.
Surround yourself with positive people who uplift and inspire you. Together, we can create a brighter and happier world
For leveling my floors, I glue these plastic shims on the floor with construction glue in a matrix. And stack them up to level. Than use them as a reference point when pouring the leveler. Cheers from Belgium
Love you guys
Jamie, I did not know about the “frozen rocks” thanks for the info!
Get extension poles for those rollers and save your backs when applying that liquid vapor barrier
I have been to Tokyo, Japan... or the magical land of toilets. Before getting my luggage I used a heated toilet seat, and oh man... it is amazing!
This was very interesting
You have a great tracklist man
Looking good. The Ardex plant is about 10 minutes from my house, really like their products.
I am definitely the Jaime in this situation.
Always long walls first then shorter with shorter pieces.
Also what is being done needs to be answered, followed by why we will choose to install in this manner.
Working backwards from what is the intended look is the best chance for success.
I enjoy scribing....a tip before attaching scribed substructure, use it to trace on to the trim.
I am often accused of overcomplicating a situation, but also a better result.
Ya'll have a good ying and yang from the brothers- the other 3 guys!
Also a simple plug, they sell a captured spring return guide rail with pins ...for a tracksaw on butt or angled cuts.
I've been remiss in sharing this😅😅😅
Would love to start carprentry. If the perkins are ever looking to start an apprenticeship for a 28 year old guy from Florida I would move up in a heartbeat to join and learn from these guys.
A mate of mine loved a beer, in fact he really loved a beer, his nickname was ‘Horizontal’, just like your boards. Good episode cheers 🇦🇺👍
You make it look so easy and I know it's not!! It looks awesome!!
Everyone should experience a Toto toilet once in their life, the one in this video is ok as well.
When we were levelling floors in our house we put pur foam pads a metre apart and cut the tops of them flush (laser measured them so cut were accurate), so the floor levelling material just had to be poured and spread.
Never realized where that came from, always thought it was a reference to cubes. Pretty crazy to think about the world before we figured out condensation, but it wasn't very long ago
Pro tip: Get you some long handles for your rollers. That’ll save your back from getting so achy breaky.
they know what roller poles are. Probably just didn't have them at Erik's house.
My guys. Be kind to each other. Stay safe. Love to all
Just saw this toilet on another utube out of Louisiana. Checked it out!! Wow!
That Horow sure is great; I can picture Jaime like Rodin's "The Thinker" on it.
Stop giving Jaime such a hard time. He is full with a lot of knowledge, let him share it. I love you guys.
Some tasty looking forever chemicals in that slab sealer. Would be interesting to hear ya'll talk on toxicity in homes over generations and talk with some of the older locals.
I wonder what house you guys are gonna do next…?? Can't wait and see!
I use Bostik Roll-Cote for vapor barrier, very good stuff, thick layer, never had a single issue with it
The toilet leaves me speechless.
You have made it in life Erik 👍😂
😊love your toilet talk.....😊😅
When I was a newlywed I didn't like how dusty the basement floor was so I just used a few coats of Mop and Glow. It worked and no more dust.
I have a top of the line Toto Washlet. It's a game changer. I don't use TP any more. I hate going on vacation using a regular toilet. This toilet seems to have all the functions my Toto has for a lot cheaper. I'm looking for a second one so let us know how this works out. Toto makes handheld travel bidets. We have those as well.
2:21 legendary appearance from ray right there
Hot tip for you.
When you doing the base plate for a frame and it goes through a doorway, cut the underneath the base plate 1/4 to 1/2 way through at the sides of the doorway. When you come to cut that out later it's easy peasy cause you don't have to cut on the concrete or subfloor
Actually Thumbs Up for the amazing toilet info/pitch
South Park smart toilet episode :D
A smart ass washer.........I know I've seen it all now! Y'all take care.
Nice toilet, I would imagine that the "If you sprinkle when you tinkle, be a sweetie and wipe the seatie" has officially become passe.
I installed a Toto Japanese toilet seat back in 2019 and that sure saved on TP during the crazy shortages of 2020! But honestly, I love these systems and I often place a GFCI behind toilets in new homes as a gift to new homeowners (I’m an electrician), and I wish I had one behind every toilet in my home. These toilets look pretty cool and are reasonably priced, so I’m going to check them out….
Got my Sashco sample kit.
Thank you kindly for hooking me up.
The big box store in my neighborhood does not carry the Lexel products though...bummer
Jamie is on point my friends north Carolina here Buddy's
Hi folks it’s 4.30 am in the morning I’m drinking a cup of tea and bananas sandwich ,,and I’m watching you guys ,Life dosent get better the office looks grouse I’d live in there cheers from Australia ❤️🙏😃👍🦘🇦🇺🇺🇸☘️☘️
Scotch neat.
Bourbon can have ice/rocks.
Another cheap alternative to walk on the self leaver is shoe attachments for lawn air rating. Like cheap ice shoes.
ah "smart toliets" area amazing ones of the best things from japan
I have some of those rocks too.
2:22 Using rocks also comes with the benefit of not watering down your whiskey
Still should flick a few drops of water in there, though.
for floor level guide, glue down a grid of wood shim blocks.
You guys know if you got some smaller rollers you could get that to take a little longer.... ;)
Can wait to hear about the toilet failing and soaking the addition wish some special stuff.
Open the window pass them through that way 😂😂
9:40 Backer rod! It's like a really small pool noodle. Save the caulk!!
Have you never used a roller with a long handle, less backbreaking!!! good video as usual.
Powder into water always, also IMHO they have the best tile grout on the market pretty decent adhesive and liquid waterproofing membranes.
Love your shows. If I ever built a house anywhere near y'all - done deal! Thanks so much for taking the time to share these. Regarding the vapor barrier, what about the concrete under the 2x4 wall plates? Wont this attract moisture and allow this to creep up into the walls?
