Plymouth Argyle - £50m redevelopment plans for Home Park

Argyle chairman and property developer James Brent has outlined ambitious plans for a new grandstand with additional seating and the upgrading of ground facilities.
Proposals for the area around the ground include an ice rink to replace the current facility at Plymouth Pavilions; a 10-screen cinema with the only IMAX screen in the South West; a hotel and new park landscaping and changing rooms for youth sports field users. Speaking as chairman of property developers Akkeron Group, James Brent said he wanted to invest in facilities Plymouth could be proud of. He said the proposals were aimed at maximising benefits for residents and visitors.
Argyle chairman James Brent said on ITV Westcountry, - The Akkeron Group will build the new stand without cost to the club -- other aspects of the regeneration plan will generate the funding. "Our club is currently fighting to keep our football league status and that naturally prompts the question, why we are going ahead with the Higher Home Park regeneration plan and upgrading of the stadium facilities at this time? Throughout the 126 year history of Plymouth Argyle our Club has enjoyed the highs when promoted and the challenges when facing relegation. We have to plan and have ambition for our future. The new grandstand and hospitality facilities will greatly enhance the match day experience of our fans and visitors.
