Sportswashing is a big concern in modern football and Premier League champions Manchester City is one of the clubs owned by a regime that uses sports to improve their reputation. This is done by acquring a football club that have supporters negative to the current owner that welcomes owners like this as long as they are willing to put money into their club.
After Manchester City was bought by the sheik from Abu Dhabi they have won several Premier League trophies, Fa Cups and Caraboe Cup trophys. The only trophy they have failed to win is the Champions League, but they have been in one final that they lost to another club that also made their way to the top via previous owner Roman Abramovich, Chelsea FC.
In may Man City won their fourth Premier League title in five years in hard competition with Champions League finalists Liverpool FC.
This video will tell you how Manchester City cheated their way to the top of the Premier League, and how The Premier League is still investigating them for breaches to their rules and breaches to Financial Fair Play rules. Manchester City got away with the champions League ban they got by UEFA in CAS, but the Premier League have not yet finished their investigation into them.
But for years Manchester City have spent money that are coming directly from the Abu Dhabi and blown up sponsor deals, and they have already been fined by UEFA for those breaches years ago, But that is a small price to pay for Man City as those years made the one of the biggest threats in European football and the dominant force in Premier League football.
This summer Man City also bought superstar Erling Haaland who previously had been protesting against World Cup in Qatar for his national team Norway. Erling Haaland is a great signing for the owners of Man City and their hope of improving their image by having supporters of football supporting them.

The real question is, it doesn’t AT ALL seem suspicious to you that in a league that tightly controls investment so rich owners can’t “buy titles” that a rich owner bought a low-mid-table club and in 3 seasons took them from an average table position of 15th in the prior decade to winning a title, and in less than 10 years turned them into one of the winningest franchises of the modern era? Nothing at all suspicious in that to you? In the 10 years prior to 2008 their average final position in the first tier table was 15th not including their two seasons in second tier and one season in 3rd tier. In 2008-2018 their average position was …. 2. They finished 10th the season they were acquired with 8th previously being their best finish since 91/92. In 09/10 they hired Mancini with whom they are accused of having off-books and indirect salary payments in the 10s of millions…and proceeded to finish 5, 3, then 1st. You really think (assuming the allegations of Mancini side deals are true) that Mancini would be the only member of the ecosystem they had off-books deals with? And that this wouldn’t point to financial doping? And that this didn’t establish the foundation for the relentless and world class serial winners the club has become since then? That would be the DEFINITION of financial doping, cheating, and building a dynasty of success on fraud. Not saying other clubs haven’t done it before, I’m just saying it’s unlikely City figured out some magic formula between 2008-2012 where they played by all the rules and built a dynasty for the ages. If they had there would be books and movies about it like Moneyball.

If you're going to accuse City you need to know the rule you're claiming has been broken and you need to be able to substantiate it with proof.

the problem is that when the owners are done with City, when they have gotten whatever deal, they made with the British government, they will move on and all the money will dry up and City will go into administration, most likely the club will go under and cease to exist. This is why FFFP is there it is to stop rich people from pumping money into the club and then bailing leaving the club to go under. If I was a city fan, I would be more worried about what happens after the money dries up, but also IF they are found guilty then all those years of winning will be tainted, and you will forever be branded as cheats.

FFP was introduced to stop clubs from spending more than they can make through sponsorship, merchandise, and TV rights deals so they don't go into administration and fail. it was not introduced to stop City, but rather protect clubs of which they all signed up to it.

To me, it’s not coincidental that they made these rules shortly after city were bought and it was becoming obvious as to how much money they had and how much power they could get because of it. I guess we agreed to disagree, but I personally believe FFP was designed to keep big and small clubs small. Chelsea is an interesting case because they were bought, and it clearly helped them (again, compare their trophy cabinet before and after 2003) but they don’t have as much money that Man City does so it’s not as startling.

You do know City already has been found guilty in cheating twice? In 2014 they accepted a fine for their FFP breaches, and later in 2020 when UEFA expelleded them from the Champions League, but CAS overturned some of the charges because it was time barred.
They also stated: "In fact, the judgment recites, the AC found that ADUG had funded the payments, and that: “The management of [MCFC] was well aware that the payments … made by [a third party on behalf of ADUG] were made as equity funding, not as payments for the sponsor on account of genuine sponsorship liabilities.”
So we all know City cheated. The upcoming hearing will only reveal the extent of the cheating.
But you are right about one thing. The owners of City are more into going after others than actually showing they are innocent. As we also see in all the three cases they are obstructing the investigations and are not willing to cooperate to prove their innocence.

This is nonesense. If you really went and sit down to read the charges and our respons to them, you would see how wrong you are. There's plenty of videos here on YT with financial experts looking at them and they all say the same thing. If man City gets punished you ALL get punished. Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle, Everton, United and then list goes on and on.
