🎼 This was a lot of fun. Original thanks to Pedro for sending me this link to listen to!
VIDEO QUESTION: Who am I checking out next????
D-LOW!
I'd love to see you react so some beatbox loopstation stuff as well. Robin especially is amazing.
"Hiss, Alexinho, Colaps, River' - If only (Official Video)"
Footboxg GBB 2021
A beatboxer from the UK D-low, "sing a little harmony" it's musical and catchy. Another one from him "textures", this one is super technical and it will blow you away honestly.
Glad you liked it :) And much love to everyone in the comments 💙
🌊💙
Wild river
River!!!
Love you river
❤
finally a rhytmic person reaction to beatbox, usually it's like vocal coaches or randoms
this lmao
Tritan117 on youtube is another one. The more this guy watches beatbox content however I think they will be better than Tritan's.
Yes exactly!
@@notoriouspc that guy was hilarious with his rap god stuff and his twitchy self xDD
Love this! Please do more :) As beatbox covers so many aspects of music from vocal anatomy to rhythm to melodies etc, we really appreciate when those who have expertise in these areas share their thoughts! Looking forward to your future videos 😄
I am excited to do so. I might have to write some drumline covers as duets with this material 👀
@@DrumRollTonyReactsthat's an awesome idea
He made it there boss, the GBB (Grand Beatbox Battle) is the most well-known international beatbox championship in the world. This wildcard video was ranked first place, and he eventually went on to finish the competition as the world Vice-champion.
Highly recommend you check out the battles themselves, these wildcard videos are not fully representative of the true battle vibe of the beatboxing community.
@@wooshbait36 no he didnt colaps won
@@wooshbait36 you're lost bro 😂
i don't recommend the battle videos at all as people new to beatbox won't be able to appreciate it most probably. I really don't understand why people keep recommending beatbox battle videos when you have some many cool music beatbox videos that are more suited to non beatbox audience ..
@@wooshbait36 share whatever shit ur smoking bro
@@SOHNTECH @khiirioo1232 read his name yall
Didn't expect a beatbox reaction from you but I'm definitely here for it. Beatbox loopstation would be right up your alley!
I absolutely second this
almost all of beatboxing is the ability to mimic real instruments and replicate/create real music. he’s able to hum and make melodie’s behind a beat because most of the percussive techniques he’s using are made by just using the lips or tongue, so it leaves his voice free. you can also add your voice “through” a sound and sort of amplify it in a way.
for example one of the percussion sounds he uses in the video is called a “spit snare” it’s the scratchy clap sounding snare, but all it takes to make the sound is to apply tension to your lips and quickly force air through them. if you add a “throat bass” behind the snare you can make it sound thicker and more powerful, or if you simply hum behind it you can make it resonate more.
while most of beatboxing tends to take the dubstep/edm/trap route, there are a lot of technical sounds that are inspired from genres including reggaeton, pop, jazz, hip hop, and other cultural specific music.
hope this helps give just a tiny bit of context about beatboxing, can wait to see you explore more of the genre!
I love how much musicianship is involved in this art. Thank you for the info. Definitely going to do more vids
@@DrumRollTonyReacts cant wait
Damn this is the most detailed explanation in short terms about beatboxing I've ever read/heard
@@MaximalAmmo1 i’m glad that 6 years of beatboxing has allowed me to create an explanation like this 😭
Check *Ya Na Ha* GBB23 Crew Wildcard
This beatbox band performed on Dimash concerts in Yerevan and Antalya.
This is pure music
Ya Na Ha definitively once of the most pleasant surprises just sooo clean yet musical, really can't pick between them and Sarukani for the group category as favorites but all in there are equally capable so feels like one of the most interesting categories this year.
Grand Beatbox Battle 2021 was the biggest international beatbox event that has ever happened. It was a live event held in Poland. River made this video to qualify which he did. At the event he became GBBB Vice Champion in the solo category. The low bass is called "inward liproll". It's basically vibrating the side of your lip while inhaling.
Every submission from 2021 was amazing. Truly the golden year of wild cards.
I see some people suggesting stuff in the loopstation category, so I’ll give you a heads up that this uses a lot of effects and is more like live music production than beatboxing. If you do check this out I’d suggest starting with slightly older stuff like MB14 vs Saro which uses a lot more beatboxing and then they remix/dj it. Or you can stick with regular beatbox if you prefer a purely vocal performance.
Welcome to the beatbox community, it's a new world and you certainly have many wonders to discover.
Not just the classic batbox battles of (only)
but also there are different types of sections for all tastes.
In solo you will find people doing everything with their mouths, basically it is the human vocal and technical capacity at its best, it also has the loop section, where they use beatbox in a loop machine and according to the competition using other machines to apply filters and create unique musical pieces at the moment.
There are also sections such as tag team, where it is 2v2, crew where there are groups of several beatboxers, which can remind you a little of acapella groups, only adding the beatbox.
And there are multiple types of online competition such as the bbu22 where it is allowed to master the audio in a more professional way so that everything sounds more like it would come out of a studio with a more professional finish.
I would like you to continue reacting and analyzing beatbox videos to continue making this wonderful community known, without a doubt if you like music I think you are in the ideal place.
As a recommendation, I recommend you watch Den, Show Go, Codfish and start watching loopstation, since musically I think it is what can allow you to analyze the most, since it is not very different from listening to studio music, with the difference of which here is done at the moment with the help of the beatbox and a machine.
Greetings and good video :)
YES! we need more beatbox reactions! I recommend checking out some of the most popular videos from GBB tournaments.
7:07 the gbb (Grand Beatbox Battle) is one of the most important competitions in the beatbox world, there are several categories but this wilcard is for the SOLO category, which 25 people from all over the world were classified, this wilcard achieved the number place one and River was runner-up in that gbb (2021), this year after a year of pause, the competition will be held again, but this time it will be held in Japan; It will be during the month of October, and River for being among the top 3 positions is already classified directly to this gbb. It is a very good competition, perhaps a battle is difficult to analyze, but you could easily see their qualifying rounds live, or almost like this in their wildcard video
LETS FUCKING GOOOO PLEASE KEEP DOING BEATBOXING!
Acabas de entrar en un mundo hermoso, espero y disfrutes este arte.
River is an insane beatboxer and this performance not only does sound good it's also highly technical and hard to do even for master beatboxers.
We are used to vocal coast reactions who focus mainly on more on the singing side of beatboxing. It’s really refreshing to have a drummer reactor who can explain the more technical drum side of beatboxing. Pls keep doing these! I recommend reacting to the beatboxers Zero, he’s does very intricate drum patterns and combos!
Loved this reaction, I'm waiting for more beatbox cause you're great on this!!
if you are honestly just discovering this world of beatbox, you are in for one hell of a ride my guy
yeah I have never really sat down to give it active listening. This will be fun
First video I’ve seen from you and super impressed! Thank you for reacting to beatboxing!
Thanks for watching
Welcome to the community . Hope you continue tp explore more. ❤❤
I always love seeing a new reaction to beatbox. Welcome to this magical and wonderfully talented world.
Love this reaction - this is one of THE best beatbox performances in my opinion. Glad you enjoyed!
I’ve been beatboxing for ~14 years now and I’m not anywhere near River’s level. This is a great video to start your beatboxing journey with!
You asked how he did. He got first place in the wildcard competition to earn a spot at the Grand Beatbox Battle 2020 (GBBB). He finished 2nd (lost to his teammate in the grand final).
Truthfully, his technique and musicality in this video are masterful. The bass is called a lip roll, which is an inward breath from the corner of your mouth. His snare is a version of a “spit snare” and a “kiss snare” which are easy enough to understand.
Welcome to the beatbox family! You should check out MB14 La Cup for another masterclass
This is a submission I've listened to at least 50 times but haven't heard it in years... Was a trip to see your reaction now. I loved the going back and appreciating all the little bits of it.
You picked a really good video to start with man there are so many insanely talented beatboxers and new one emerging every year it's growing so fast in the last few years
Man, this was so cool watch. hope to see more!
In the months that I have been following you, I was looking forward to a reaction/analysis to something related to beatbox, thank you very much for the video!!
More musical material from the branch that can help you is the artist DEN in the BBU competition, his routines there are incredible!! greetings from Argentina
i love your reaction! i I love it when you give me information about a music producing
It's genuinely so cool seeing someone highly educated in music who finds beatbox and appreciates just how incredibly complex and difficult it really is, even before understanding how it works.
I can tell your understanding of the theory behind music runs deep. @DrumRollTonyReacts You wear your knowledge well and seem like a really nice guy too. Really glad I found your channel. Keep up the awesome work.
Thanks for the nice comment
oh u r in for an awesome ride with all these beatbox dudes. enjoy
Yeah!! Hoping to see more beatbox reactions!
welcome to the world of beatboxing! thanks for sharing this artform!
Watch "Stich - feels like nothing" he has a signature sound and it is inhuman, genuinely will blow your mind
We need more of this 🙏🙏🙏
Welcome to the beatbox fam! I’ll be here for any beatbox content!
welcome to beatbox community! ESH💛
you have a really good outlook on beatbox and you’ll find a lot of excitement and new knowledge from this way of performing music, it really is a beautifully intricate art form. Welcome!! 💛
I'm in for the beatbox reactions. I think you will enjoy every second of this adventure. 😊
yesyesyes pls more beatbox! there is a massive community behind this
I love it when you go back!
Absolutely have to watch dlows winner compilation for the sbx kickback battle. Such an incredible showcase of the goat!
here are some recomendations for other beatboxers you could watch. SHOW-GO, Codfish, D-Low, Colaps, Wing, His, Den. I think, they are all really incredible
I personally like when you repeat some segments of song. Great video as always
Im here for your beatbox journey lol That was River he did, indeed, win a spot to compete at the Grand Beatbox Battle (GBB) which is the biggest competition.
dude, nice reaction!
keep rewinding, just not miss a thing!
Feels like you would really enjoy listening to some of the songs from Eurovsion that just happend! Especially Finland's entry Cha Cha Cha
even if you are a beatboxer yourself for many years, this wildcard from river is blowing your mind.
Yup u just dicovered an amazing music genre that has so much love to deliver
Lots of content to refer to watch but I'm sure you'll get plenty in the comments !
Welcome to the world of beatboxing! You got a new sub from me. Looking forward to future beatbox videos :)
Wow, i love beatbox, pls do more of those
Crazy how talented these beatboxers are.
When you hear his singing voice go lower he’s using his false folds similar to certain kinds of throat singing or metal growls. Other bass sounds are created by vibrating certain parts of the mouth or air in the mouth. Beatboxers explore every part of vocal anatomy as a way to make more complete musical performances, though lots of individual beatboxers have techniques they specialize in that few others can do. There’s a lot of cool stuff to explore.
Finally a fine reactor, subscribed
Need more .. welcome to the fam 💙❤️
Beatboxing!🥳 I've been meaning to request "Silver" by Show-Go, but life got in the way. Please continue doing wildcard submissions and other songs, instead of battles, at least for a while. Your knowledge of music makes it a better starting point. I'm looking forward to your next one.
In 2021 he ranked 2nd in Grand Beatbox Battle solo category. There are a lot of competitors in the wildcard selection, after the eliminations they'll remain in 16.
I'm very happy to see how many people are giving big support to the beatbox community lately, loved your video and i want to see more soon
That was really impressive!
I’d suggest River vs Hiss if you want to see him on stage in a battle.
my new all time favorite beatbox reactor. I would HILGHLY recommend Sound Sketch by D-Low, its a longer video, but when you realize hes freestyling it just adds to the evidence that D-Low is the greatest to ever do it.
It would be amazing if you check out D-low's "sing a little harmony" and/or "if my bones are breaking", he's pretty much the goat of beatboxing
Whattt I didn’t know that Steve Carell did beatbox reactions 😂 sick reaction man ! Thanks for the knowledge !
LMAO I'll take it
MB14 vs Saro loopstation battle is a must watch
Probably one of the best wildcards ever
Welcome to the world of beatbox. You're about to be hooked. I would check out the entry by Max GBB '21. Also loopstation tracks and or battles will blow your mind too. Basically they beatbox into a machine that loops it and they can add effects and everything and produce a full track live and on the spot.
I always love how people like fall into the beatbox rabbit hole and then ask "what can I check out next" and as a fan and part of the beatbox community you're just like "well, how about anything?"
Like there are iterally a billion videos coming to my mind after that question, but if I had to choose, I would definitely recommend Show-go, because I think this "human" is just something different, because he manages to create real songs you can just listen to every day with a precision and musicality that is just unmatched (my personal opinion, I am a huge fan of his work.)
This is the first video I have seen on your channel but from what I can tell, you're a real music enthusiast so you should definitely check out more of the rabbit hole, you will love it I promise!
Great reaction. Me personally dont mind the going back its funny to see how you understand but you dont at the same time 😂. Cant wait for more. Would like you to check some technical bearboxers like Colaps its mond blowing and also ICE that i believe its one of my favorits atm even tho not much content of him its out yet
Hey man, cool to see your reaction pop up on my feed, some video suggestions. Gotta see Den's bbu rounds. And the new wildcard for gbb 2023 group or loopstation. So mutch to explore
This was wildcard for "Solo" category GBB 2021. There are 16 competitors. And yes, RIVER (almost) made it. He reached the finals with his brudda)
Just to add some more info for Tony:
In fact, there are more than 16, I believe there are 24 of them. The only thing is that they have an elimination round at the beginning where they perform for some minutes and then the jury chooses the best 16. After that, those 16 start battling each other.
@@maurock98 sorry, my bad.
@@6stna8em no problem bro!!! :D I just wanted to add more info about what you said n.n
You need to see mooooore!! It's an amazing community with multiple style and variety
He made it all the way to the final. Look up the grand beatbox battle
Amazing
Welcome to the beatbox family😁
Lets go. Beatbox reaction ❤❤
Yoe need to do more beatbox reactions.
oh boy, you're going to love beatbox wildcards. I suggest trung bao - venom next.
Really new territories and horizons, all to be discovered. Something fresh and very interesting.
I recently listened to "The bass gang" just vocals and a cappella sounds and I really liked it.
The search for musical change I think is essential for a future that is currently too repetitive, very superficial and too shallow.
Sorry for my bad English
Grazie

I'm a enjoyer of beatbox, and I really liked your reaction. Hope you keep doing beatbox in some videos. I would suggest: YA NA HA - GBB23: World League Crew Wildcard | Free your life. I guarantee you'll like it, they are insane beatboxers, singers and producers.
I think you'll find the more you look into the rabbit hole of beatbox the more crazy it will become.
When you asked beatboxers whats going on in that part is he is doing a polyphonic inhaling voice. So he is talking while breathing inwards to create 2 tones at the same time. This while boing the beat at the same time. People think how are their lungs so big, but really we just use different techniches to breathe that give us air, or a beat that is mouth only so we can breathe while making beats. It is a HUGE community and extremely confusing at first, just keep watching and you learn more as you go. Please react to more and more. Swiss beatbox or beatbox international are HUGE channels to check out.
Sweet. Yeah! As a percussionist this is very fascinating to listen to.
The whistle is called vortex whistle 🙌🏼
No worries! I like when reactors go back and give commentary about what's going on in their minds. If I wanted to just watch the video all the way through, I'd go watch the original video
Yes to this video! Love professionals reactions to beatbox. Please react to D-Low Keep Sane or his SBX Kickback compilation it's honestly insanity! 🙏Any D-Low really 😅
Welcome to this new world
Welcome to the world of beatbox
GBB refers specifically to Grand Beatbox Battle which is historically one of (if not the) the most popular battle events known on the Internet thanks to people like Madox who helped grow it and the contestants who made it what it is today. This battle event follows a model that many well-known battle events follow:
1. Beatboxers submit entry "wildcard" videos like this one in different categories (solo, team, solo loop, etc.) to be scored.
2. Top scores get invites to the tournament itself and showcased.
3. At the tournament (some offline, some online, some both), beatboxers are assigned in brackets to battle each other.
4. In battles, they flip a coin to decide who goes first.
5. Then beatboxers take a couple timed turns against each other doing a set and/or improv in their category.
6. Then one is judged by a panel to win, or it goes into overtime.
7. The brackets are pit against each other until only a champion and vice champion are left.
If you enjoyed this by River', you should definitely check out his collab with other top-of-the-game beatboxers on "If only". If you want something impressive in a completely different genre, check out "Free your life" by Ya Na Ha. If you want one of the best beatboxers with musicality, check out anything by SHOW-GO. If you want something with musicality and something unexpected thrown in, checked out "Feels Like Nothing" by Stitch. If you want one of the best beatboxers in the world, check out "No Limits" by Colaps. The list goes on and on...
Please make many content about beatbox reaction, i like it❤
You have to go listen to the song by him and a few other beatboxers:
*Hiss, Alexinho, Colaps, River' - If only*
The sound that got you in chest is call the inward liproll ( aka sub bass ), its a sound we do by positioning our lip in such a way that when we inhale it vibrates our lips in very low frequency creating that bass sound
That is wild. What a different type of articulation
river is amazing! i recommend king inertia vs helium battle. that left me speechless
Welcome to a whole new world.
New viewer, keep reacting to beatbox please ❤love this
omgg youre reacting to beatboxing now?!
You should check out some battles, D-Low is a good place to start
Now you should watch _Only if_ with a group a French beatboxers, including Rivers. Hiss, Collaps and Alexinho.
You picked a good one to start with. River was Vice Champion in GBB 2021. If you really want to be amazed, check out anything by D-Low. It doesn't even matter what it is because everything he does is amazing.
I can't recommend many battles because mostly they are not about musicality but technicality. One of the few "pop" exceptions is Codfish, champion of GBB 2018. He doesn't use many sounds, but has unique style.
he is a drummer also he could probably appreciate it
beatbox gang start RECOMMENDING
its basically the worldleague of beatbox and he finished 2nd 26 in the finals
More beatbox please
GBB is simple it's a competition where beatboxers compete. They first need to do a "Wildcard" video where they perform and some judges chose the best wildcards those people now have direct entry on the big stage where they perform in a live environment in front of thousands of people and some judges but the most important part is they are "battling" other beatboxers that made it on the big stage and the judges choose a winner and that goes on until only one is left, GBB champion. There is also a tag team battle like 2v2 and a group battle it's like 3+ people per group and pretty much the same rules apply there( i would recommend BERYWAM vs BEATBOX HOUSE is one of the most iconic beatbox video i think you will like it.).
edit: There is also loop station battles that would be more up your alley because they end up being really musical like MB14 vs SARO
