A pity Boatmans cabins are not covered under your heritage act !!! repainting a modern boat battle ship grey would be ok however this was a classic boat that has been destroyed.
What a shame, it looked much better the last time it was up for sale. It will take a lot of sanding to get it back looking good again and it will be hard to find a traditional painter for the roses and castles.
Awww to bad they destroyed the lovely woodwork by painting it. Totally trashed the nice galley, ghastly really, added that useless cupboard over the water heater severely reducing the counter area. Now just something to hit your elbow on. Idk, maybe alcohol fueled design choices? The tug deck conversion is a nice idea.
Ufff! Preferred her as she was - then again, many would say the same about ours - each to their own... I did wonder if Jim had been involved the moment before you mentioned his name!
Just looked at the old video of this boat, can't believe they painted over the woodwork in the boatman's cabin! Still a nice boat, gone a bit "hearty" but they haven't put the price up much considering the amount of work done, I'd have it, maybe de-heart it
I don't understand this mania for having everything grey at the moment, it just makes everything look drab and dismal. A very strange layout, lovely bathroom and galley but so much wasted space and impractical sleeping arrangements. One for the weekenders.
I'm thinking there could be some cheaq boats about when grey goes out of fashion! its all qart of the masculine woman agenda but it just makes me feel dismal. I like the bright colours the women used in the old days to try to defeat the grime and make it more like home.
"Along with enough booze to sink a battleship" - I love your commentary and that was the first thing I thought when I saw that fridge as well. They certainly know how to cruise the right way!
Hum. Well that's different. I've never been a tug fan (looks awesome but lot of unused space) This tug has changed my view a bit. Very good idea with the bedroom.
ua-cam.com/video/IbzAXy_aSl4/v-deo.html I found the earlier video a henious crime was committed, the previos owners did up the front but left the boatmas cabin.
Not to sure about that engine , and the smell of oil , exhaust fumes , and the chance of having your arm ripped off by belts , or that chain , and the bed seems very constricted , clambering across for a pee in the middle of the night , despite all that , nice boat
Much easier to scoot out the bottom of the bed than to clamber over someone on a tiny 4ft wide bed. Bed has to be a decent width now. Mind your head though.
I think a tastefully fabricated chain guard would add to the beauty and safety of the engine room. This could be done in a bright red or in polished copper or brass.
This is by far, one of the most unique boats I've seen to date. As for me, I love the paintwork, it gives the boat a light-modern feel and can be easily changed-up at anytime. I love the shower pan, a very interesting shape, as well, the subway tile in the bathroom is beautiful. The kitchen cabinetry is beautifully if not tastefully done, high marks. And . . . the bedroom at the bow is oh so charming, I mean the entire boat to me, screams the word "Charming." The steel extension with vinyl cover is sheer genius. And . . . who doesn't love pigeon boxes? Now . . . what are the negatives? The boat does not have any central heating, but then with two stoves, it may not need it. You would need to leave the Bedroom doors open in the winter for heat I suppose. Does the shower get its hot water from the water heater in the kitchen cupboard? There is no Inverter installed (so no microwave or telly away from shoreline), one alternator and only a single Solar Cell, so electrics are on the minimalist side, but for a few $, can be upgraded. I'm not sure if there is room to add a washing machine, perhaps in the engine room, that would be on my list. Although I love the boats with the antique engines in the middle, which of course also feature the Boatman's Cabin, I wonder if this in reality, creates a lot of wasted space as far as practical use? I could see, however, my doing my Ham Radio hobby from the back cabin while the Little Missus is up front away from the noise of HF Radio, so it might be useful. Also, it would offer much privacy should a visitor come to stay overnight. And . . . it all might be worth it to show off the beautiful Lister engine. If I bought this boat, I would probably add a little Bright Work to the engine area, it seems it is lacking some brass or other such accoutrements. Also needs a headlight installed. The saloon is quite cozy, but with only portholes, it is lacking a bit of scenery and lighting, I suppose at the expense of privacy. I would have liked to have seen larger windows in here, but because of the interior woodwork, I think you are more-less locked-in to the port holes, unless you wanted to change out the wood too. All in all, I would be VERY PROUD to own this boat just the way she is now! To see what Eliza used to look like see: ua-cam.com/video/IbzAXy_aSl4/v-deo.html
someone obviously built this for them selves, I wonder what the story is, job change, claustrophobia ? this could make a great full time live aboard. for the right people

It looked better when it was a tug. If i was to buy, I would convert it back to a tug.

Shame about the changes. Eliza has been ruined by last owners, she was far nicer last time you had her.
Looked better before
That's got to be the most confused disjointed story ever told by a boat. It's just a well presented confused mess inside.
you have to admit though, the galley was quite nice.

I think this boat has been transformed from lovely to fugly.
I think you have been to nice although using fugly was creative
Love the tug deck conversion!

I was thinking they needed to stock up a bit for the weekend.
I notice there’s no dining area. I’d take out that sofa, add a couple of comfy chairs & stick a breakfast bar where the galley meets the saloon.
That front deck is the original deck space, built as a dry powder tug and plans came from Birmingham library.

Not for me. I need big windows...
@Experiencing Alternatives England good point. To be honest, I was wondering about that. Maybe big windows on the canal side only ... lol
@Experiencing Alternatives England wow, I never thought it would be that bad but being familiar with "civilisation " I can totally see that...
Stunning boat and at less than £50k a great buy 👍🏻
Be a lovely live aboard and a beautiful sound while cruising 🙏🏻
Overpriced last time it was on sale for almost a year, even worse now, you can buy a 20 year newer boat for less money. Boatmans cabin destroyed.
The artwork that would have been on the wood in the rear cabin distroyed.

Good point about the middle-of-the-night comfort break David - that hadn't occurred to me !! 😲
@@annepegum3351 Just a small point , but seems a bit cramped , still as Mr Sarno states , plenty of storage space

@@annettefournier9655 Yeah , just seemed a bit cramped and as you say just slither out

Fab boat at £49,950
Está precioso lo dañó el motor que está dentro
Would take that at 50k
Lovely boat. Thank you for showing. Love the port holes. Please, show more cupboards. Thank you.
Fantastic! This is just the sort boat I'd love to own. I like the boats where the bedroom is tucked away at the bow. If only I had the money...

Don't like where the engine is.
Lovely boat at a reasonable price.
Yep, I like the look and feel of this one, great price as well 👍👍
its glorious in my all time top 5 what a stunner
Very nice boat.
Love this design and layout
