Good day to you, friends, as always!
As reasonably new player myself who started playing genshin not to long ago
i always wondered when certain characters got released, how did the map looked throughout the versions and what was like to be there from the beginning of the journey.
And I know I'm not alone in this, whether you are a new player who is interested in seeing when your favorite peace of map or character got released or a veteran player who just wants to go on a nostalgia trip. In this video, I’ve put together dates for all the versions, all the map releases, and what characters got released along the way, so without rambling for to long, let’s go back to the very beginning.

I joined in 1.2 on January first of 2021 and I’ve play pretty much consistently throughout all the patches. This is so nostalgic.
I've been playing since 3.3. Great video that took a lot of effort. I'm just glad Natlan isn't going to be all desert like we imagined back playing in Sumeru.

I'm part of a 3rd group, that studies game design and loves to revisit production and product releases. I personally love designing maps myself and love how Genshin's map was evolved over time.
I started playing this june and this game is soooo amazing, endless discovering places and the story is amazing!

You did a good job, A piece of advice for the future, try to hear the pronunciation of the names first, because people get annoyed when they hear their characters' names pronounced badly, For the rest you did a great job 😉 keep going, you got +1 subscriber +1 like from me. ❤
I understand what you mean, but these videos take as long as they already do to make and i do them for free, this will make 2$ at best. And this is 70+characters, im not gonna sit and learn all of them, had this been just a few names ofc i would just look it up it's not that hard for a few names, these chinese ported names just don't work in my native language and they are beyond anoying to pronounce, i knew from the very beggining it will be not perfect and that's why i said from the very start of the video there will be some names butchering, but some people just don't care. but i appreciate you understading this and subscribing, thank you ❤️

@@Ace_Gaming4 Not to be an asshole but if you play the game you don't need to do any research. I mean how many times did you hear Liyue being called Liwai? Just listen to the characters while you play the game. Besides, you don't sound like a native english speaker, so, correct me if I'm wrong, but you shouldn't have the same issues as them when it comes to pronunciation due to letter-sound inconsistency in english. If your language has sound consistency, then just pronounce most names the way they're written and you're good to go. There are only a few exceptions in Sumeru like Dehya (Dihia or Dee-hya in english), and a few special letters in Chinese like X=S, Q=Ch/Sh and Zh=Y.
I started to play in 1.0, when the game was brand new, got a littlr overwhelmed by it and then picked it up during the last days of 1.1/the beginning of 1.2
I remember thinking back then that the map was huge. And now Liyue is even bigger with Chenyu Vale.
I started in 1.6, kazuha banner. Played upto inazuma, then stop.

I played a lot of hours, I remember doing the liyue 3 gRdener robot mission, sheesh f was hard and dragon spine.

Dang why are people hating just cuz of name pronounciation?? Chill bruh you know who he's talking about and he already said beforehand that he's gonna butcher the names, in any case.. this video was solid but I would add in extra stuff like the skins, Lantern Rite, Archon Quests/Interlude Quests and the new Dendro element with its new reactions in 3.0
I didn't want to make this video any longer than it already is, I already had to cut a lot of stuff i said just to shorten it. People from my experience watch videos that are 20minutes and longer a lot less than those that are not. I also think everything you mentioned here would make for another great video, something like a part 2 to this video :)
interesting, I did make many breakes but played on all Summer special maps.
I started on 4.3 and ive been playing everyday since. Im excited for the exploration in Natlan but not so much on the new characters. Ill be pulling for the classic ones such as Raiden and Hu Tao.

So, This is the beginning map of Natlan. I heard that this region is bigger than Sumeru actually. Anyways, I started genshin in 1.6 but take a long break, because I was confused with the gameplay and I missed so many interesting events since then until 3.3 came out new, then I restarted to play the game for real.

it has underwater life that should have been done in EVERY region

the story is a bit boring and lacking combat , wish we at least would have done something personally about the flood , like rescuing people while it happens
mondstadts is by far the best , one of the greatest bosses , not hard but not too easy
good fights in story
story forces u to explore a bit
not too large of a region so u dont spend ur entire life on exploring it just to never 100% it
no super hard enemies

I said in the very begining of the video, i find half of the names super hard to say and yes i will say them wrong, i wish they would give a bit more western names for western versions instead of chinese ones, but it is what it is. Oh and i can't agree mondstadt being the best, but everybody has it's own opinion and i respect that

Sumeru is my favorite as well, but I feel like an overwhelming amount of people will say that Fontaine is. To be completely honest i loved both and i hope Genshin makes more of that :)
I get the nostalgia with mondstadt but it’s just very basic and boring imo
The landscapes are always the same, the story doesn’t have much to it, and there isn’t anything interesting to explore other than grass
