I think Birthday Banners would be a great addition with some limitations. It could go something like this: - Separate from Event Banner pity, but the pity carries over to the next Birthday Banner - Can only obtain 1 copy of the character - Lasts for 24h This would guarantee every characters gets at least 1 rerun every year. Shenhe hasn’t gotten one in more than a year and doesn’t even qualify for the chronicled wish :(
It would also let f2p players plan their primogems better as they know when the character will rerun, but will only be able to get 1 copy to compensate
Maybe with lower pity (if we could still loose the 50/50) as it's only 24h long and with access to their sig similar to maybe the chronicle wish where you can switch between the birthday boy/girl and their weapon.
This idea is so good. To make it a bit more fair since it's only available for 24 hours (even tho the date is known), I'd add that there is no 50/50 on bday banners, you are guaranteed to get the bday character if you get a 5*.
Maybe it could last for a week, and multiple could run at one time when characters have overlapping birthdays. That way, you still have a chance if you can't log on exactly on the character's birthday
Tbh all of the banners need at least some kind of rework. The weapon banner is scammy for f2p players and getting a specific 4 star becomes virtually impossible on character banners.

I'm fairly certain they aren't allowed to. For legal reasons. If a character was released and marketed as limited, they can't be added to the standard banner

For example, a bunch of limited 5* (S-Rank) Hi3 characters have been added to the dorm/permanent banner along with eventually being put in War Treasury where you could exchange them for free, making them no longer be "limited" like how they used to be. If Hoyo can do this in one game without legal trouble, I really don't see any reason as to why they can't do it in Genshin. As far as I'm aware there's nothing legally binding.

Genshin can't change its "rules" to do this, because then they would get into serious trouble with CN government, even if the character is albedo or klee (no offense to them)
As someone who really wants Shenhe and lost 50/50 to mona back in 2023, we really need another chronicled wish banner. And also dendro reactions being meta while not improving cryo or geo at all being a contributing factor in Shenhe never getting a rerun
Same here, I was a version 1 player that just got back during fontaine, I basically have a perfect team for Wriothesley outside of Shenhe, tbh my account is kinda stagnating because of her not having a rerun
I was lucky enough to get Shenhe immediately after Ayaka, but I understand the pain of losing and having to wait, as that's what happened to me on Shenhe's debut banner. It's crazy to me how few reruns she's had given she's one of the most popular designs in the game.

Yeah, back then it worked because the landscape was much different compared to now. In the current environment of the game many of those older systems just aren’t up to the standard that the game needs. Like the endgame content or the standard banner lineup
The funny thing is, they are addressing them… in the games that come out after them. ZZZ has the best summon system just because they show you the number you’ve summoned, and HSR… it’s just got the best systems period.
@@Acheron-IX nope that would be hi3(fav child), has in my opinion also the best summoning system. no fucking 50/50, if you pull for a char or weapon you get them to 100%. every part 1 support char is as long they are not herrschers (archon lvl beings) farmeble. in the span of of a few days per char. part 2 has 2 supports that can be farmend and the new s-rank (five star) of part 2 are all able to play as support or main dps depending on their team possition and the new astral ring system.
Yeah, as a newer player you can't help but feel left out because there are certain characters that you have yet to even see on a banner that everyone has.
Same with weapons. I never pulled in the weapon banners because of the fear that I might get something for a character that I don't have. At least in character banners, you'll get something useful.
The only limited you really need (if you do Spiral) is Kazuha and Yelan/Furina. And depending on what element you prefer, a dps character from that element Cryo - Wriothesly Pyro - Arlecchino Hydro - Not a good dps element in my opinion Electro - Clorinde (but kinda needs Nahida/a good shielder but electro doesn't have one unless you count Beidou's burst) Geo - Mono geo is mostly 5 stars and Itto is a burst only dps Dendro - Al-Haitham is the only dendro dps limited 5 star Anemo - Wanderer (though his options are insanely limited cause some shield units don't work well with him) Physical - Eula

Standard banner really isn't be the only terrible banner in Genshin - all of them are. Weapon banner is still not separated despite them reworking it in HSR and ZZZ. Regular banner reruns are inconsistent with some units taking a year to rerun. And the Chronicled outright never returned after getting featured only once.

Weapon Banners in HSR and ZZZ use the same ticket as the Limited Banners; not sure what you mean by separated. ALL of Hoyoverse's games have banners that are really bad compared to many other gacha games I've played.
@@karsonkammerzell6955 I was referring to the fact that there are two signature weapons being featured on the weapon banner simultaneously, which significantly screws you over if you only plan on getting a specific one. Instead of getting a reasonable 75/25 rate, you're forced to risk a 37.5/62.5 - and that doesn't even factor in the scummy fate point system that makes it very possible to lose twice and spend up to 240 fates for a single desired copy - I doubt that I need to explain how shameless that is, there really isn't a single other gacha game that has such rates for completely skippable weapons of all things.
I think if at least not free limited pulls every update like hsr, they could give us 5-10 acquaint fates every update so we'd have some way of getting characters/weapons in a less annoying manner on what I consider to be the most untrustworthy banner after the weapon banner

I'm more curious wtf even happened to Chronicled Wish and what their plans are for that. That wish type just disappeared after 4.5 and the way how it only appeared once makes it look like it may have been seen as a failure by Hoyoverse and that they won't do it again as we haven't gotten an update on that as well in something like developer diary or a way for developers to communicate to players. I wonder what even happened to those that had pity left in that banner. With how old this game is, the banner system feels like it's slowly becoming worse even though nothing is changing. But then the idea that nothing is changing is the problem. I'd say the most obvious issue aside from rerun times would be how we're still stuck with the fate point system where you stand to loose twice in a banner before getting a featured weapon whereas HSR had split the weapon banners and the chances are 75/25 instead of 50/50 since the start.
random wild guess that they're hoping ppl forget about it so they don't think about saving for it, so ppl will have to open their wallets and use their credit cards we have no idea what kind of sequence or theme they'll use for it (regions in release order, regions with the greatest no. of charas that meet the requirement, etc), but anything that isn't mondstadt has good pull value for various reasons (it's 4am I'll get back to this I swear)
My guess about chronicled wish is that it'll be a once per region thing for old units and weapons with units that can't get reruns like tighnari and dehya so I believe it will only return at like 4.5, though as far as I'm aware there isn't any confirmation about this
The fact that we’re coming up on 4 years of this game being out and have no Geo rep on the banner when Albedo is literally the best character to be thrown on there is genuinely mind boggling. I’d love for characters who aren’t the archons to be slapped on the standard banner at some point since it’d make sense for them given how either they’ve had so many reruns or so little that I think it’s time for them to just be on there.

A friend of mine missed out on his favorite character Shenhe because of this issue. He passed away before he ever got a chance to enjoy her in the game that he loved. Genshin forgets that we're humans and we all have our time. We don't have years upon years to wait for these things and want the option to enjoy it while we still can.
One issue with putting too many characters in the standard banner is that getting one specific character would be a matter of pure luck even more so than it is now, so there would need to be some way to target a character. My recommedation would be to create something a bit like HSR's Herta's Store but for characters, with potentially both 4* and 5* units available to buy, which would remove the bloat from both pools in the banners. The necessary currency should be limited in quantity and not purchasable for real-world money. Also, you could add weapons there as well. This way completing a few basic teams would be much easier and more F2P-friendly, if you could just choose to buy someone like Sucrose or Sigewinne for in-game currency (I still don't have Sucrose, man). The only problem is that there's essentially no way they ever make limited characters available like this, especially not the really good ones like Kazuha, Xianyun or some of the top DPS characters, so they would likely need to fill the store slowly with brand new characters, one every two or three patches. And I would add that doing something like this wouldn't necessarily reduce sales, or at least not by a large amount - this way you wouldn't have as many characters to invest into, but nothing's stopping you from investing vertically into your favorite characters or getting new characters that play differently, syergise with different elements of the game or form other team archetypes.
It would suck a lot if they added older limited 5* to the standard banner for many reasons. Main one being that it would be nearly impossible to get your desired older character. What they should do is 3 banners per half or more things like chronicled wish
man i cant remember which content creator said cornicle wish would be for each region so i started wishing on it thinking that if i dont get lucky i at least will be closer for the next set of 5 stars. they had better bring that shit back and keep track of pity on it

as an arknights player, imagine pulling for a specific waifu then losing the 50/50 and getting Surtr (Was the most broken boss killer until more broken units showed up lmao) I'm just not a fan of this style of "all other SSRs are limited while a group of [standard] SSRs", and the fact that reruns are random in order or heck some get better treatment (archons and favorites) makes it that anyone who wasn't there at Albedo release will never want to get him nor accidentally get him from losing the 50/50
True, Arknights has a lot of operators. The way they solve their banner problem is great imo. Every 4 year, all 6* (limited excluded) was removed from the main banner and made a specific banner for them. Hoyo could've made most year 1 characters to be in a "chronicle wish" banner... But then again Arknights operators are mostly not limited
It still feels good to even get potentials for operators like Surtr, Mlynar, Goldenglow, Ines, and Typhon from the limited banner Kinda wish i can do standard Genshin pulls and then get Kokomi or even Kazuha lol.

If you added more characters to the standard banner, the odds of you obtaining your desired 5* would go from a 1/7 (not including weapons) to something ridiculous and wouldn't resolve the issue.
Easy fix is just to do what some games do and rotate a rate up banner so you are more likely to get a select standard banner character. And it still leaves the option for people to lose their 50/50s or what not to get characters they actually still want or would be useful.
Honestly most people do not pull on standard banner wanting to get a specific unit/weapon as i see it is just a little bonus, and I argue that it would work in genshins favor, if they were 15 five starts in standard banner no one would not pull on lets say yelan's banner because they will get her later, chances will be just too low and yet if by chance you get her by loosing a 50/50 no one would complain
I got only 1 yr in genshin but i talked to my friend who played since release and i suggested that genshin should do something like this: Endgame content (Abyss, theater or even both) should give tickets who can be exchanged for Old Standard Banner characters and his weapons so you have extra motivation to do the content not only for the primos. (yeah like Herta's simulated universe but i'm adding characters not only weapons cause genshin is way older than HSR). Bench all the 7 Old Standard characters to only get obtained by the system above, put ALL the non Mondstadt and Liyue characters (except Xianyun since she is more recent) into the Standard Banner with their weapons. Every next region will bench the older ones and put the less older in the standard: for example in Natlan inazuma should be added (except Chiori since she is more recent). 4 stars should have increased chance to appear only if you don't have them. (This will help people to get variety to do the theater) Make Paimon's shop rotate two 4 stars characters per region every month (and i mean every one not only the old ones) so (counting fontaine) the shop will have 10 characters to buy with dust. This will help getting some constellations. 4 star weapons should be added too so you don't feel scammed when you get a flute instead a Xifos in the weapon banner. For the love of god put Kaeya, Lisa and Amber in the banners sometimes. Or at least make a 4-star path in the standard that will increase the chance to get that character but only when you got at least a copy of them. I have Amber C3 and i need just only one more to play Bunny Amber. Most of us are saving for newer chars instead buying the older ones. Imagine losing the 50/50 and you're getting a Klee, Albedo, Venti or even Zhongli will not feel so shit if you are and old player, and it will feel useful if you are a new player.
"Bench all" - NO NO NO NO NO AND AGAIN NO! not only can they NOT add limited units to the standard due to legal reasons clogging up the banner qoukd be terrible. Not to mention units like al, baizhu, and all fontaine units would be absolutely broken the moment they go into those banners. Plus they'd become harder to obtain which is not OK. They just need to rerun the chronicle banner and add more frequent reruns as well as stop retuning xiangling, benny and noelle every 2 patches...
I think that after their 5th rerun, said unit should be added to the standard banner pool That way mihoyo can clear up the rerun schedule, keeping it at a certain number or make it so we can use regular fates on the Chronicle banner
They can’t do that legally lol, when you go into the banner details on the limited banner it specifically states that the character will not be added to the standard banner after their banner ends. This was different with Tighnari and Dehya because hoyoverse announced that they would be added to standard prior to their banner’s release
@@badussywar8938 i know, thats why the banner situation is such a problem, also the ppl that paid for limited banners would also go nuclear if said units were to be added to the regular pool, causing a whole fraud case coz wording. This was more like a ''they should have had this approach from day 1'' kinda thing. If not, I was thinking more about in the future, like from 5.0 onwards they change the wording and specify that after a set number of reruns all new units will be added to the standard banner pool unit.
Here's why (VARS i'm a little surprised that you missed that in your research): It's in the event details, 5star characters on banners are being and always have been promoted as "event- exclusive characters" that "will not be available in the standard wish 'wanderlust invocation' ". Ever. So basically THEY LEGALLY CANNOT update the standard banner with old 5stars, even if they wanted to. The chronicled wish is how they decided to solve it, it was announced to return eventually and i assume it gets more frequent in the future (i honestly thought it would return in 4.8 already but whatever). Other than that, i doubt they'll change much about the wishing system.
Someone correct me if i'm wrong, as i'm not into Chinese laws, but one of the reasons as to why they cannot add more characters to the standard poll is because if a character is announced to be limited, it means that *IS LIMITED.* Which means no chance on appearing in the standard ever and players can only get said character by reruns. A good way to fix this is to make future characters always be announced for the standard banner after a certain amount of patches. Maybe 2 or 3. And meanwhile the old ones have their own limited banner similiar to the chronicle wish banner but actually good But of course, we are talking about Hoyoverse. No amount of competition will make them do such thing. And in the case they do, it might be either underwhelming, not what we asked for, or both. (Edit: not even a week and this comment aged like milk!)
They could disclaimer that the new unit will be added to standard after X runs but to be honest ...its a shit approach it's like the people who decide that Klee is "undesirable" so she should be sent to Standard Because unlike Limited Standard Banner doesn't have a guarantee and it would be stupid for things like Meta to factor into a characters desirability
This is actually fake, and is totally possible to add ANY character to the standard banner. What is not allowed is remove the availability of a permanent char (say any 5* from standard/exchange shop/whatever other perma way) and turn them into limited. The only reason gachas don't do it is that it dilutes the standard pool and it's bad for both their revenue and for the players in general. Hence why most resort to either creating a whole new banner for these characters (usually permanent and/or fair version of chronicled wish) or make them obtainable through other means. So yes, this is literally just bGenshin not caring, which was already made obvious by Chronicled wish banner being the most FOMO predatory move disguised as generosity.

I started playing since 1.5 with Jean as my main target...now it's almost 5.0, I'm on C4 Keqing C5 Qiqi and STIL NO Jean. Meanwhile HSR and ZZZ assure me I'd get whoever I wanted on standard after like half a year. If Hoyo decide to add more characters on standard they better add a one time selector on there as well since it'll decrease the odd for people to get the character they want even more.
Add older units to standard and increase the 5* rate on standard banner to be about ~4 times that of the limited banner and add a standard banner epitomized path with a 4-step pity. Basically: Make it so that the value in the limited banner is getting the newest unit, while the value of the standard banner is getting QUANTITY of 5*s. This would serve to make standard wishes we get feel better, but ALSO mean that there's actually a potential value in spending your primos on standard banner if you just want variety.
Unfortunately, this wouldn’t do anything about the amount of 4* characters in the pool. It’s nearly impossible to get 4* characters you want unless they’re on a limited banner. I’m dying for Kuki, and I’ll likely not get her until she’s on a limited banner. Annnddd I would most likely have to whale to get a significant number of her constellations because her rate would be up with two other 4* characters. Example: I wanted a couple ningguang copies last banner, but I ended up with 5 copies of Kaveh. On the current banner, I’d love to pull for Yelan and get a couple XL cons. But I won’t do it because I don’t want to risk getting zero XL cons, and 10 copies of Razor instead. I just don’t need Yelan bad enough to risk it. The 4* issue sucks so bad. It’s crazy.
@@LiterallyJustAnActualPotato 4*s you accumulate over time realistically. Play for a year and you'll have half of them at 6*. Play for 2 years and most will be maxed or at least on the way to being. Rushing for 4*s is just an issue of impatience, really, although I definitely ALSO think they should rethink the starglitter shop and add more 4*s to there.
Personally I love Arknights system where everyone is on every banner (excluding the handful of limited characters and event characters) after a characters comes out on their debut banner than they are thrown into the perma pool but they also do rate up banners and the shop rotates so you can purchase banner characters with shop currency
Yeah Arknights gacha system at least guarantees you’ll get nearly everyone eventually. Why I’m not sweaty over missing out on characters on featured banners. If they’re standard, they’ll be put in the pool with everyone else and I’ll be able to get them eventually. It helps that during very special events, the shop offers a reasonably priced bundle that has a ticket that lets you recruit a standard 6-star of your choosing (It’s how I got Thorns.) Sure it still costs money, but compared to what I drop for Genshin (which doesn’t even come with a guarantee most of the time) it’s a STEAL. Sometimes you’ll get lucky on limited banners too. I missed out on getting Spectre Unchained on her banner, but eventually got her when I lost my 50/50 in another limited banner. Same with W. Of course for limited it’s best to invest in their banner while their rates are up. But that’s what makes Arknights so easy for me as a long time player. I can sit on my Originium for months and wait to drop them on Limited banners (unless the standards are THAT good.) In comparison- Genshin banners is very much “get them while you still can cause you’ll never know when they’ll come back.” The game’s system entices you to spend on banners when you can because they’re so inconsistent with who gets to have their rates up. RIP to anyone who wants Shenhe. And RIP to anyone who wanted easier ways to get Albedo/Eula. And that’s not getting into the mess that is the 4-stars. RIP to all the people who spent everything to get a C6 Kaveh last banner. And fuck me for waiting to get my Chevruse more cons 😂
I think that they need to make some kind of schedule for when they run characters. Because you'll get situations like Furina having run, what, three times already, and Wriothesley hasn't gotten a single rerun despite the fact that he released earlier on in Fontaine. Yes characters that are more popular are going to run more because Hoyo makes more money that way, but give the other five stars a chance. There will always be someone out there who wants them, maybe a new player who wasn't playing at the time of release, or a long-time player who saved through the banner for someone else. If they could dedicate certain times of the year to certain nations I think that could be cool. Like you understandably get a bunch of Liyue characters running around Lantern Rite, so maybe Mondstadt characters run in December-January, Liyue in February-March, and so on.
The issue at 7:30 can easily be solved creating a selective rate up for characters. It's not worth it to rerun Dehya since she is in standard, but if they made a selective rate-up banner with Dehya, Yelan and Yae Miko, people who want to target dehya can easily grab her, while the "rerun slot" is not wasted since there's other 2 profitable characters you can select.
In Honkai Impact 3, the equivalent of the standard, the Dorm banner, gets updated every once in a while with characters who have long dropped out of the meta. But what's different is that on top of a guaranteed S-rank (5-star), they also have an additional guarantee that gives you a new S-rank you *don't have yet*. Their gear, however, is obtained from a recycling system where you throw in extra unused gear (or even craft some after a long period of gathering materials) then get materials to exchnge an amount of for the gear items. This exchange system also gets updated at the same time as the dorm banner. Some gear even becomes craftable.
As someone new to the game Ngl the banner system sucks if we could pick between 4-6 character banners instead of 2 for more reruns of ones I never had the chance to get would be nice. Now I’m stuck waiting until raiden is available 😢
Yeah, they definitely need to do something about the pity system for Standard units, having 0 control over which Standard 5* you get can really hinder players, or just wall players from pulling their favorites behind RNG. I've been playing since 2.0 for example and I've really wanted Keqing, but I've never pulled her AT ALL and never had a chance to pity her in any way, I keep pulling Jean and Diluc cons (and yeah, maybe that's better meta wise but in terms of subjective favoritism, I do really want Keq). I'd like to actually be able to pick rather than let the game pick for me, and I've never had that opportunity with Keq.
even if more characters were put in the standard banner it wouldn't change anything because standard banner pulls are so rare you get like 5 per month and maybe 5 every update. so you can expect one five start pull, what, once per entire x.0 cycle - if you do not actively 'lose' your primos on standard banner that is.
Arknights is basically the opposite when it comes to the standard banner. Most of the roster can be acquired from general pool of characters. You could get a 6 star character that is either on rate-up or get spooked by an off banner character. Getting 4,5, or 6 stars gives a currency called "Yellow Certificate," which if you have 180 will allow you to buy a copy of the character that is in the shop. The Roster is so big that Hypergryph split it into 2 gacha pools with new characters get added to the standard banner. The limited characters are few and far between due to Arknights having 3-4 limited banners a year unless there's a collab event like with Rainbow 6 Siege or Monster Hunter. The limited banners features the 1 limited character, and 1 character that'll be added general pool after the banner. Previous limited characters will also be on rate-up, so there's a chance you may obtain them. However As of the time time I'm writing this. Shu will be more difficult to obtain unless you're lucky the next time the Sui sibling banner comes around next year, and Zuo Le gets added the standard pool when the banner ends. I kind of doubt Genshin will add older limited characters to the standard pool let alone listen to its player base.
I don't know if this was said by someone else. But hear me out Birthday banner with both character and Dedicated/BiS weapons being accessible on their Birthdays.
The only reason Dehya was added to the standard banner was because she was so bad and they didn't have the time to "fix" her so they just put her there to forget about her and never rerun her again

i thought dehya's kit was okayish during her first leak? then hoyo decided to nerf her ass one beta after another until they had enough and thrased it into standard that even leakers were surprised by the "sudden change"
@@samkelly5045 I can see that, I do remember some stuff about her being nerfed pre release dispute playtesters saying that she was already bad, personally what I think happened was that they wanted to make her a fontain support as her kit on paper sounds like it should be good but she just wasn't and even her exclusive artifact set didn't help (one big reason why I think she wasn't originally standard) so they just decided some time before release to nerf her a bit more and put her on standard to hopefully add more really bad characters
I believe it was mentioned they legally can’t add banner characters to standard unless they stated before release or specifically they can’t add limited to the named standard banner unless they added second banner for them hence the idea of regional banners to keep the game alive.
Before even watching the video, I want to point out that the 3-star pulls also have been the same since launch and no one has ever said a peep about it. Ok, let's watch it.
It's just a waste of space literally noone would ever look at a banner and be like oh wow i would like a 2nd debate club before you say "thrilling tales or or harbinger of dawn" they're not really that good you'll only use them when you have absolutely nothing also by logic of luck with more items in genshin wish banner the lower the chances of us getting early 5 stars and 4 stars so is that really what you want?

And no, it wouldn't change the odds of getting a 4-star. You know that increasing the amount of 4-stars hasn't changed the odds of getting a 5-star.
4* weapon pulls as well. Think about it- have you ever pulled an Inazuma, Sumerian, or Fontainian 4 star weapon? We actually have plenty of weapons from those regions and some are actually really good but no one talks about them due to being locked away as weapon banner exclusives. The standard pool of 4 star weapons hasn't changed since Version 1.0 iirc and you can only obtain Mondstadter or Liyuean weapons from a standard pull
Sorry about the compare, but still Honkai Impact 3 shows that they can add old 5*s to standard! Or make them available thru some other means (farming frags, memorial arena...). Since I believe due to the wording, they can't add limited 5*s to the Wonderlust Invokation but they could just make a new "standard" banner w/ a diff name & it wouldn't violate that statement. (not saying we need a 3rd banner, they can just replace the current one). Like I do appreciate not putting newer 5*s on there, but idk I think after 3 banners (debut & 2 reruns) that should be a good time to add them to the standard pool. It diminishes the problem of needing too many reruns all the time.
I think they should have put the max pity at 60 on the chronicled wish banner. Would it have made the characters more interesting ? No. But it would have made the banner more attractive because people would have seen "a good deal" in this banner (I'm not saying it is, by definition a Gacha is never a good deal, let's say it's a better deal), much cheaper than a rerun would be, and more people would have pulled to get characters they like but wouldn't be willing to pursue at a full price.
I doubt that Hoyo is going to add new characters to the standard banner for 2 reasons: 1. Money 2. I think that a lot of players are going to get mad because X character is going to become permanently available, and I guess that a good number of players enjoy having the exclusivity of having X character. Personally, I don't mind. It's 99% a single player game, but idk about the rest of the player base
No, it's not truthly a single player game because everyone treating Spiral Abyss like actual PVP place. Everyone always harsh judging characters in terms of power, individually rather than synergies in one team together. While no one else would think about there's no Leaderboards like the best Clear Time like HI3's Exalted Abyss and also none would think of no additional rewards for Speedrunners by using most of META Characters only. While buffing characters still impossible, but everyone demands to demoting weak characters evenmore weaker like 1-3★ characters from most gacha games.
As much as AFK Journey hasn't gone as well as people may have hoped, I did like the setup system they had for their tickets (pulls). Standard banner where you select two 4-stars and 5-stars (in genshin terms) for each faction, then all of your pulls will result in characters from that pool. There's also the featured character banner where you always get the character on the banner when you reach pity, then another banner where you just select 5 characters from which to pull from when you hit a 5-star draw. Some morphing of this system for genshin for its character and weapon banners would go a long way.
They should make a trading system. (Not with other players): Like we submit unused or unwanted 5 stars to the store and we then get points. These points can be used to purchase a 5* from the shop. Depending on the 5*, the # of points needed will differ. That way players that lose 50/50 can somewhat be happy that they can eventually accumulate enough points to get a 5* they want from the shop.
I agree with the point of changing standard banner to rotating chronicle banners in which you can choose an epitomized path. So a banner of 5-6 5* characters where your first 5* is a random one of them and ur 2nd one is guaranteed to be the chosen one. That way we can save up the (currently) almost useless standard wishes for when a cycle with several characters we want comes around. This way we also let older characters be available more often while not making them too easily C6able
I think my favorite gatcha that did standard banner right are from cygames. Princess connect put their new "5*" into permanent banner for you to get spooked by them. The only limited characters are seasonal or festive.
The only five star character that i want a Constellation for is Chiori... they subdued her kit having to play c0 exclusively with units that create geo constructs...
might be a way to simple to think but, keep the caracters limited to their debut banner, then add them to the perma one, at the exeption of Archons, And it still allow Hoyo to have an even better shine on the Archon as they are the only real limited caracter despite coming back every X versions
It would be nice if the games banners were like Reverse 1999: adding the limited characters as ones you can lose too after 3 patches from their initial release and then giving them a banner for those who do want to get them and not have the chance of losing to them. ALSO IF WE COULD PICK TWO CHARACTERS WE WANTED AND THEN LOSE TO EITHER OF THEM Like Reverse 1999 is better with "gacha" for a reason in my opinion 🤭✨✨✨✨
I WISH there was an epitomized path on standard banner. It’s been so long and I’ve lost almost all my 50/50’s and I still don’t have Jean, Tighnari or Mona.
Easy solution for reruns: have 3 limited banners per phase. or even 4 banners (sometimes if needed). the chronicled wish banner is a failure to address the problem of reruns because it has so many restrictions. This is my idea solution. Example: *5.0 first phase* 4 Limited character banners: - Mualani - Raiden - Shenhe - Wriothesley 2 Weapon banners: - Mualani & Raiden sig weapons - Shenhe & Wrio sig weapons *5.0 second phase* 3 Limited character banners: - Kinich - Kazuha - Cyno 2 Weapon banners: - Kinich & Kazuha sig weapons - Kinich & Cyno sig weapons _(Feature the newest 5* character’s signature weapon twice when there are only 3 Limited character banners)._ PROBLEM SOLVED. Tbh, even if they just made the basic banner have a chance of giving just a constellation of a character you already have, meaning that a failed 50/50 or a random basic banner pull has a chance to give you a dupe of a character you already have would make the basic banner infinitely better
they should give one copy of limited 5 star for free. i guess the problem would become is it like 5 options and you pick one or 1 character hyv thinks is necessary for players & would it be existing or new characters. Examples: -Ratio in hsr -hi3 gave herresher of origin (a powerful raiden mei) for basically free (do 4 quests to obtain her). it was time gated but still a good way to help new players and ppl who missed her banners.
I also feel like that shouldnt be the end. We are talking that if they were to add so many units to their standard banner, everything would be fixed, but idk how your pulls are going on the standard, but unless i buy the monthly pulls, get a new unit or some new region releases and I actually bother to explore it, Im not getting standard pulls. Not giving pulls would make players have to pull on the standard, which I dont think even the biggest fans of certain characters would wanna do, have a chance to get the unit you like. Even without the new units, I feel giving more pulls for the standard, some pity system and/or just having a lower pity would make the standard actually more viable because I dont think I can remember the last time Ive seen more than 2 5 stars on the history tab at the same time(because it auto deletes the history and stuff)
Still watching. But from a historic point of view, Hoyo only updated the standard banner of one of their games. (Well, not too sure on Gun Girls since its no longer on global) And that was Honkai Impact 3rd. Sadly, not even HSR on its Anniversary did an update on the standard banner.
Idk if you play it but solo leveling arise adds all limited characters and weapons to standard banner after their banner ends(despite the fact that they still do reruns) and you can chose 4 of either characters or weapons to get an increase in rate up for and since standard banner tickets are very easy to get in the game it allows you to get more copies of a character I feel like genshin would be better if they added a system like that

Here's a question, what's the team and combat format of that game? Do you need at least one character for every role and every element? Basically, are required to pull for a wider roster, or is it just nice to have a bigger roster?

Here's what I want them to do: 1) create and maintain a list of event limited five-star characters that have been out at least one year, sorted by demand. So the likes of Kazuha and all-Archons-not-named-Venti are at the top, the likes of Itto are at the bottom. 2) immediately chop off the bottom half of the list and add them and their signature weapons to the standard banner. (And Tighnari and Dehya's.) 3) going forward, whenever a new character enters the list by hitting their one year release anniversary, the bottom character and their weapon gets shifted to the standard banner. 4) add epitomized path to the standard banner, with let's say a three fate point threshold. Why so high? Because of point 5: 5) lost 50/50s on event banners count toward standard banner epitomized path.

I mean… wouldn’t that discourage players from swiping? If someone theoretically pulls for Arlecchino, and gets a Hu Tao instead, they’d think “Well, not exactly what I wanted, but that’s good enough anyway..”. I think having such.. bad units on the standard is a way to make sure nobody is fine with losing a 50/50
I only play genshin out of the now 3 of their major games and i really only play epic7 and sort of reverse 1999 for other gacha but after seeing all the good things from honkai and other gachas that are doing better than genshin and its a bummer how little hoyo seems to care about improving genshin it felth like a passion turned into pure efficient profit

Why didn't you discuss the fact that they legally CAN'T add them to the standard banner? Each limited character description states "this character will not be added to wanderlust invocation" aka standard banner If they add them, it would be false advertising and would put them in legal trouble, especially in China
What stopping from saying after this point all units will come to the standard banner of x so many years. And I don't think anyone would care if they added them anyway. Players are not going to get mad and sue. When zhongli was buffed no one sued enough he was changed. The sued when neuvllete was nerfed. When it to peoples benefit they are not going to care.

I believe Genshin needs to introduce particularly themed banners to improve overall availability for their characters. Example: Pyro banner, Electro banner, Archon banner, Support banner, etc. One themed banner alongside the latest one each time will not only prevent travelers from being overwhelmed with choices(as they claim they would be) but also provide an exciting experience at the notion of getting one of a handful of previous characters they’ve never gotten before to play as.

Generally *ALL* banners need work *Weapon Banner* - Allow Fate Points to carry over between patches, that one fix *ALONE* would be a *HUGE* win to both whales and casual players alike and make it worth the gamble of pulling on *Character Banner* - Triple Banners *would* be helpful since with Genshin expanding roster of characters and each patch generally giving one new character, that's 3 reruns per patch, a second banner hosting two extra characters each patch would help reduce back up of characters waiting for reruns *Standard Banner* - Rotate characters from older versions into the Standard Banner. Taking some units with weaker constellations and some with stronger ones (half and half) would added to the Standard Banner and the Standard Banner would operate like Paimon's where it resets once per patch and new characters will be rotated in. That or add something like HSR where after a certain number of patches, you're allowed to chose your 5-Star unit, it might be abusable but it's fair and how many people will spend their primos or money on Acquaint Fates? Add Tighnari and Dehya's signature to the Standard Banner (Along with Primordial Jade Cutter) cause may as well, better then never letting them run again Characters like the Archons and Neuvillette would be barred due to their narrative importance and keep their guaranteed once a year reruns, that's fair. *Chronicled Wish Banner* - This becomes the permanent third banner where instead of Standard Five Stars being added, you have 6 limited characters and their weapons available with the same fate point system where if you lose your 50/50 you potentially still get an ideal unit. Each patch can be region with the limited characters hailing from that specific nation. Rather then last just 3 weeks (smh), it last the whole patch. Though if doing this, at least add enough units to the Standard Banner to rotate each month (so there's max 15-20 units on the Standard banner). Fate points are allowed to carry over between patches
I'd say miHoYo needs a wishlist feature alongside an expansion of the Standard Banner roster. My idea would be that this wishlist would allow you to set up a maximum of 5 characters from the Standard Banner, four of which you must already own, but the fifth slot can be any Standard Banner character, owned or not. This would allow miHoYo to control which characters get "phased out" without overbloating the Standard Banner, and they'd no longer need to rerun "unprofitable" characters anymore. And at the same time, players would have a legit reason to pull on the Standard Banner to get more cons, and collectors would have a chance to catch up, albeit VERY slowly. This, in turn, would counteract "dead patches", as people who don't care for the Limited Banners could still splurge for cons and classics.
honestly the Chronicled banner could be 40 max pity and no 50/50 and i'd still hesitate to pull for something like Hunter's Path for my Tighnari for standard wishes though? hell yeah i'd save for whenever it rolls around
The last time i pulled on the standard banner was the first day of 2.1. Right now i have over 500 pulls sitting in my inventory. Waiting for a significant change for the standard banner, that may never come.
I've started playing Genshin this week and the scarcity of available characters is just crazy to me. I've been playing gatcha games for more than a decade, and I understand that the game doesn't have that many characters, but realistically all I can get even if I wanted to spend thousands of euros is a handful of them. I'm not asking for all new characters to be added to standard immediately (as they are in other games I play) but I have seen that result in great player retention. For example me and many other BBS players will save up standard summon tickets for up to a year before anniversary, since anniversary characters will always be premium on release, even with a ridiculously small chance of getting them you still have managed to make me play the game and farm events that I otherwise wouldn't have. It's just insane to me that so few options are available for a new player.
I've always thought and crafted different modifications they could do for the standard banner to include more characters or to make cyclical banners. They could either: -Include two characters per region to the standard banner like you mentioned (probably the lowest ones in sale) -Cyclical standard banner that change throughout the year (each cycle features a different group of characters from a specific region) -INCLUDE THE EPITHOMIZED PATH and have it like in Star Rail that you can select s specific character after X amount of rolls Now as for characters they could include per region, I definitely think this bunch make sense: -Mondstadt: Klee and Albedo -Liyue: Xiao (his freaking Signature Weapon is already a part of the Standard Banner), and either Shenhe or Baizhu -Inazuma: Yoimiya and Arataki Itto -Sumeru: well, in here we already have Tighnari and Dehya -Fontaine: Wriothesley and Siegwinne
An interesting idea I think they could try is do region-based chronicled wishes through the year alongside regularly scheduled unit releases for a limited time split across 1-2 months based on the roster, such that the 50/50 pool never gets too large. Ex: January-February: Old Liyue Units April-May: Old Mondstadt Units June-July: Old Inazuma Units/ Old Natlan Units August-September: Old Fontaine Units November: Old Sumeru Units December: Old Archons Across each region It's not a foolproof concept, but something like this would give people something to look forward to, as well as a guarantee that Hoyo can turn a profit at the end of every year since every player would want a first copy of an archon or a constellation, and having to win 50/50 across all 7 (eventually) would be pretty fun.
Kudos to this man who's been making videos for years asking for many changes and fixes to better the game, but nothing has ever been implemented yet still he persist.
I think Birthday Banners would be a great addition with some limitations. It could go something like this:
- Separate from Event Banner pity, but the pity carries over to the next Birthday Banner
- Can only obtain 1 copy of the character
- Lasts for 24h
This would guarantee every characters gets at least 1 rerun every year. Shenhe hasn’t gotten one in more than a year and doesn’t even qualify for the chronicled wish :(
It would also let f2p players plan their primogems better as they know when the character will rerun, but will only be able to get 1 copy to compensate
Maybe with lower pity (if we could still loose the 50/50) as it's only 24h long and with access to their sig similar to maybe the chronicle wish where you can switch between the birthday boy/girl and their weapon.
This idea is so good. To make it a bit more fair since it's only available for 24 hours (even tho the date is known), I'd add that there is no 50/50 on bday banners, you are guaranteed to get the bday character if you get a 5*.
This reminds of ensemble stars and their birthday scouts except without the pity system involved
Maybe it could last for a week, and multiple could run at one time when characters have overlapping birthdays. That way, you still have a chance if you can't log on exactly on the character's birthday
Tbh all of the banners need at least some kind of rework. The weapon banner is scammy for f2p players and getting a specific 4 star becomes virtually impossible on character banners.

I'm fairly certain they aren't allowed to. For legal reasons. If a character was released and marketed as limited, they can't be added to the standard banner

For example, a bunch of limited 5* (S-Rank) Hi3 characters have been added to the dorm/permanent banner along with eventually being put in War Treasury where you could exchange them for free, making them no longer be "limited" like how they used to be.
If Hoyo can do this in one game without legal trouble, I really don't see any reason as to why they can't do it in Genshin. As far as I'm aware there's nothing legally binding.

Genshin can't change its "rules" to do this, because then they would get into serious trouble with CN government, even if the character is albedo or klee (no offense to them)
As someone who really wants Shenhe and lost 50/50 to mona back in 2023, we really need another chronicled wish banner. And also dendro reactions being meta while not improving cryo or geo at all being a contributing factor in Shenhe never getting a rerun
Same here, I was a version 1 player that just got back during fontaine, I basically have a perfect team for Wriothesley outside of Shenhe, tbh my account is kinda stagnating because of her not having a rerun
I was lucky enough to get Shenhe immediately after Ayaka, but I understand the pain of losing and having to wait, as that's what happened to me on Shenhe's debut banner. It's crazy to me how few reruns she's had given she's one of the most popular designs in the game.
i am seriously skipping *every* Natlan character (except Xbalanque) because i still want Shenhe, Kokomi, Yae Miko , Xianyun & Chiori.

The amount of day 1 systems in genshin that are just starting to show their age is a lot, the proplem hoyo is not even adresing them or consider them an issue
Yeah, back then it worked because the landscape was much different compared to now. In the current environment of the game many of those older systems just aren’t up to the standard that the game needs. Like the endgame content or the standard banner lineup
And when such systems get changed (like with the daily commission) it's a case of FINALLY
The funny thing is, they are addressing them… in the games that come out after them. ZZZ has the best summon system just because they show you the number you’ve summoned, and HSR… it’s just got the best systems period.

@@Acheron-IX nope that would be hi3(fav child), has in my opinion also the best summoning system. no fucking 50/50, if you pull for a char or weapon you get them to 100%. every part 1 support char is as long they are not herrschers (archon lvl beings) farmeble. in the span of of a few days per char. part 2 has 2 supports that can be farmend and the new s-rank (five star) of part 2 are all able to play as support or main dps depending on their team possition and the new astral ring system.
Yeah, as a newer player you can't help but feel left out because there are certain characters that you have yet to even see on a banner that everyone has.
Same with weapons. I never pulled in the weapon banners because of the fear that I might get something for a character that I don't have. At least in character banners, you'll get something useful.
The only limited you really need (if you do Spiral) is Kazuha and Yelan/Furina. And depending on what element you prefer, a dps character from that element

Anemo - Wanderer (though his options are insanely limited cause some shield units don't work well with him)

Vaporize, while good, only has two-ish good pyro off field appliers (Xiangling and Thoma) but Xiangling wants to be in a pyro team, and so does Thoma

Standard banner really isn't be the only terrible banner in Genshin - all of them are.
Weapon banner is still not separated despite them reworking it in HSR and ZZZ.
Regular banner reruns are inconsistent with some units taking a year to rerun.
And the Chronicled outright never returned after getting featured only once.

Weapon Banners in HSR and ZZZ use the same ticket as the Limited Banners; not sure what you mean by separated.

Instead of getting a reasonable 75/25 rate, you're forced to risk a 37.5/62.5 - and that doesn't even factor in the scummy fate point system that makes it very possible to lose twice and spend up to 240 fates for a single desired copy - I doubt that I need to explain how shameless that is, there really isn't a single other gacha game that has such rates for completely skippable weapons of all things.

I'm more curious wtf even happened to Chronicled Wish and what their plans are for that. That wish type just disappeared after 4.5 and the way how it only appeared once makes it look like it may have been seen as a failure by Hoyoverse and that they won't do it again as we haven't gotten an update on that as well in something like developer diary or a way for developers to communicate to players. I wonder what even happened to those that had pity left in that banner.
With how old this game is, the banner system feels like it's slowly becoming worse even though nothing is changing. But then the idea that nothing is changing is the problem. I'd say the most obvious issue aside from rerun times would be how we're still stuck with the fate point system where you stand to loose twice in a banner before getting a featured weapon whereas HSR had split the weapon banners and the chances are 75/25 instead of 50/50 since the start.
Hopefully the dang thing comes back I've got like 40 pity in there with the assumption that I'd finish getting a weapon I wanted when it returned.

My guess about chronicled wish is that it'll be a once per region thing for old units and weapons with units that can't get reruns like tighnari and dehya so I believe it will only return at like 4.5, though as far as I'm aware there isn't any confirmation about this

I’d love for characters who aren’t the archons to be slapped on the standard banner at some point since it’d make sense for them given how either they’ve had so many reruns or so little that I think it’s time for them to just be on there.

A friend of mine missed out on his favorite character Shenhe because of this issue. He passed away before he ever got a chance to enjoy her in the game that he loved. Genshin forgets that we're humans and we all have our time. We don't have years upon years to wait for these things and want the option to enjoy it while we still can.

One issue with putting too many characters in the standard banner is that getting one specific character would be a matter of pure luck even more so than it is now, so there would need to be some way to target a character.
My recommedation would be to create something a bit like HSR's Herta's Store but for characters, with potentially both 4* and 5* units available to buy, which would remove the bloat from both pools in the banners. The necessary currency should be limited in quantity and not purchasable for real-world money. Also, you could add weapons there as well.
This way completing a few basic teams would be much easier and more F2P-friendly, if you could just choose to buy someone like Sucrose or Sigewinne for in-game currency (I still don't have Sucrose, man). The only problem is that there's essentially no way they ever make limited characters available like this, especially not the really good ones like Kazuha, Xianyun or some of the top DPS characters, so they would likely need to fill the store slowly with brand new characters, one every two or three patches.
And I would add that doing something like this wouldn't necessarily reduce sales, or at least not by a large amount - this way you wouldn't have as many characters to invest into, but nothing's stopping you from investing vertically into your favorite characters or getting new characters that play differently, syergise with different elements of the game or form other team archetypes.
It would suck a lot if they added older limited 5* to the standard banner for many reasons. Main one being that it would be nearly impossible to get your desired older character. What they should do is 3 banners per half or more things like chronicled wish

I'm just not a fan of this style of "all other SSRs are limited while a group of [standard] SSRs", and the fact that reruns are random in order or heck some get better treatment (archons and favorites) makes it that anyone who wasn't there at Albedo release will never want to get him nor accidentally get him from losing the 50/50
True, Arknights has a lot of operators. The way they solve their banner problem is great imo. Every 4 year, all 6* (limited excluded) was removed from the main banner and made a specific banner for them.
Hoyo could've made most year 1 characters to be in a "chronicle wish" banner... But then again Arknights operators are mostly not limited

If you added more characters to the standard banner, the odds of you obtaining your desired 5* would go from a 1/7 (not including weapons) to something ridiculous and wouldn't resolve the issue.
Easy fix is just to do what some games do and rotate a rate up banner so you are more likely to get a select standard banner character. And it still leaves the option for people to lose their 50/50s or what not to get characters they actually still want or would be useful.
Honestly most people do not pull on standard banner wanting to get a specific unit/weapon as i see it is just a little bonus, and I argue that it would work in genshins favor, if they were 15 five starts in standard banner no one would not pull on lets say yelan's banner because they will get her later, chances will be just too low and yet if by chance you get her by loosing a 50/50 no one would complain

I got only 1 yr in genshin but i talked to my friend who played since release and i suggested that genshin should do something like this:
Endgame content (Abyss, theater or even both) should give tickets who can be exchanged for Old Standard Banner characters and his weapons so you have extra motivation to do the content not only for the primos. (yeah like Herta's simulated universe but i'm adding characters not only weapons cause genshin is way older than HSR).
Bench all the 7 Old Standard characters to only get obtained by the system above, put ALL the non Mondstadt and Liyue characters (except Xianyun since she is more recent) into the Standard Banner with their weapons. Every next region will bench the older ones and put the less older in the standard: for example in Natlan inazuma should be added (except Chiori since she is more recent).
4 stars should have increased chance to appear only if you don't have them. (This will help people to get variety to do the theater)
Make Paimon's shop rotate two 4 stars characters per region every month (and i mean every one not only the old ones) so (counting fontaine) the shop will have 10 characters to buy with dust. This will help getting some constellations. 4 star weapons should be added too so you don't feel scammed when you get a flute instead a Xifos in the weapon banner.
For the love of god put Kaeya, Lisa and Amber in the banners sometimes. Or at least make a 4-star path in the standard that will increase the chance to get that character but only when you got at least a copy of them. I have Amber C3 and i need just only one more to play Bunny Amber.
Most of us are saving for newer chars instead buying the older ones. Imagine losing the 50/50 and you're getting a Klee, Albedo, Venti or even Zhongli will not feel so shit if you are and old player, and it will feel useful if you are a new player.
"Bench all" - NO NO NO NO NO AND AGAIN NO! not only can they NOT add limited units to the standard due to legal reasons clogging up the banner qoukd be terrible. Not to mention units like al, baizhu, and all fontaine units would be absolutely broken the moment they go into those banners. Plus they'd become harder to obtain which is not OK.
They just need to rerun the chronicle banner and add more frequent reruns as well as stop retuning xiangling, benny and noelle every 2 patches...

They can’t do that legally lol, when you go into the banner details on the limited banner it specifically states that the character will not be added to the standard banner after their banner ends. This was different with Tighnari and Dehya because hoyoverse announced that they would be added to standard prior to their banner’s release

Here's why (VARS i'm a little surprised that you missed that in your research):
It's in the event details, 5star characters on banners are being and always have been promoted as "event- exclusive characters" that "will not be available in the standard wish 'wanderlust invocation' ". Ever.
So basically THEY LEGALLY CANNOT update the standard banner with old 5stars, even if they wanted to. The chronicled wish is how they decided to solve it, it was announced to return eventually and i assume it gets more frequent in the future (i honestly thought it would return in 4.8 already but whatever).
Other than that, i doubt they'll change much about the wishing system.
Someone correct me if i'm wrong, as i'm not into Chinese laws, but one of the reasons as to why they cannot add more characters to the standard poll is because if a character is announced to be limited, it means that *IS LIMITED.* Which means no chance on appearing in the standard ever and players can only get said character by reruns.
A good way to fix this is to make future characters always be announced for the standard banner after a certain amount of patches. Maybe 2 or 3. And meanwhile the old ones have their own limited banner similiar to the chronicle wish banner but actually good
But of course, we are talking about Hoyoverse. No amount of competition will make them do such thing. And in the case they do, it might be either underwhelming, not what we asked for, or both.

This is actually fake, and is totally possible to add ANY character to the standard banner. What is not allowed is remove the availability of a permanent char (say any 5* from standard/exchange shop/whatever other perma way) and turn them into limited. The only reason gachas don't do it is that it dilutes the standard pool and it's bad for both their revenue and for the players in general. Hence why most resort to either creating a whole new banner for these characters (usually permanent and/or fair version of chronicled wish) or make them obtainable through other means.
So yes, this is literally just bGenshin not caring, which was already made obvious by Chronicled wish banner being the most FOMO predatory move disguised as generosity.

I started playing since 1.5 with Jean as my main target...now it's almost 5.0, I'm on C4 Keqing C5 Qiqi and STIL NO Jean. Meanwhile HSR and ZZZ assure me I'd get whoever I wanted on standard after like half a year. If Hoyo decide to add more characters on standard they better add a one time selector on there as well since it'll decrease the odd for people to get the character they want even more.

Add older units to standard and increase the 5* rate on standard banner to be about ~4 times that of the limited banner and add a standard banner epitomized path with a 4-step pity.
Basically: Make it so that the value in the limited banner is getting the newest unit, while the value of the standard banner is getting QUANTITY of 5*s.
This would serve to make standard wishes we get feel better, but ALSO mean that there's actually a potential value in spending your primos on standard banner if you just want variety.
Unfortunately, this wouldn’t do anything about the amount of 4* characters in the pool. It’s nearly impossible to get 4* characters you want unless they’re on a limited banner. I’m dying for Kuki, and I’ll likely not get her until she’s on a limited banner. Annnddd I would most likely have to whale to get a significant number of her constellations because her rate would be up with two other 4* characters. Example: I wanted a couple ningguang copies last banner, but I ended up with 5 copies of Kaveh. On the current banner, I’d love to pull for Yelan and get a couple XL cons. But I won’t do it because I don’t want to risk getting zero XL cons, and 10 copies of Razor instead. I just don’t need Yelan bad enough to risk it. The 4* issue sucks so bad. It’s crazy.
@@LiterallyJustAnActualPotato 4*s you accumulate over time realistically. Play for a year and you'll have half of them at 6*. Play for 2 years and most will be maxed or at least on the way to being.
Rushing for 4*s is just an issue of impatience, really, although I definitely ALSO think they should rethink the starglitter shop and add more 4*s to there.

Personally I love Arknights system where everyone is on every banner (excluding the handful of limited characters and event characters) after a characters comes out on their debut banner than they are thrown into the perma pool but they also do rate up banners and the shop rotates so you can purchase banner characters with shop currency
Yeah Arknights gacha system at least guarantees you’ll get nearly everyone eventually. Why I’m not sweaty over missing out on characters on featured banners. If they’re standard, they’ll be put in the pool with everyone else and I’ll be able to get them eventually.
It helps that during very special events, the shop offers a reasonably priced bundle that has a ticket that lets you recruit a standard 6-star of your choosing (It’s how I got Thorns.)
Sure it still costs money, but compared to what I drop for Genshin (which doesn’t even come with a guarantee most of the time) it’s a STEAL.
Sometimes you’ll get lucky on limited banners too. I missed out on getting Spectre Unchained on her banner, but eventually got her when I lost my 50/50 in another limited banner. Same with W.
Of course for limited it’s best to invest in their banner while their rates are up. But that’s what makes Arknights so easy for me as a long time player. I can sit on my Originium for months and wait to drop them on Limited banners (unless the standards are THAT good.)
In comparison- Genshin banners is very much “get them while you still can cause you’ll never know when they’ll come back.” The game’s system entices you to spend on banners when you can because they’re so inconsistent with who gets to have their rates up.

I think that they need to make some kind of schedule for when they run characters. Because you'll get situations like Furina having run, what, three times already, and Wriothesley hasn't gotten a single rerun despite the fact that he released earlier on in Fontaine. Yes characters that are more popular are going to run more because Hoyo makes more money that way, but give the other five stars a chance. There will always be someone out there who wants them, maybe a new player who wasn't playing at the time of release, or a long-time player who saved through the banner for someone else.
If they could dedicate certain times of the year to certain nations I think that could be cool. Like you understandably get a bunch of Liyue characters running around Lantern Rite, so maybe Mondstadt characters run in December-January, Liyue in February-March, and so on.
The issue at 7:30 can easily be solved creating a selective rate up for characters. It's not worth it to rerun Dehya since she is in standard, but if they made a selective rate-up banner with Dehya, Yelan and Yae Miko, people who want to target dehya can easily grab her, while the "rerun slot" is not wasted since there's other 2 profitable characters you can select.
In Honkai Impact 3, the equivalent of the standard, the Dorm banner, gets updated every once in a while with characters who have long dropped out of the meta.
But what's different is that on top of a guaranteed S-rank (5-star), they also have an additional guarantee that gives you a new S-rank you *don't have yet*.
Their gear, however, is obtained from a recycling system where you throw in extra unused gear (or even craft some after a long period of gathering materials) then get materials to exchnge an amount of for the gear items. This exchange system also gets updated at the same time as the dorm banner. Some gear even becomes craftable.
As someone new to the game Ngl the banner system sucks if we could pick between 4-6 character banners instead of 2 for more reruns of ones I never had the chance to get would be nice. Now I’m stuck waiting until raiden is available 😢
Yeah, they definitely need to do something about the pity system for Standard units, having 0 control over which Standard 5* you get can really hinder players, or just wall players from pulling their favorites behind RNG. I've been playing since 2.0 for example and I've really wanted Keqing, but I've never pulled her AT ALL and never had a chance to pity her in any way, I keep pulling Jean and Diluc cons (and yeah, maybe that's better meta wise but in terms of subjective favoritism, I do really want Keq). I'd like to actually be able to pick rather than let the game pick for me, and I've never had that opportunity with Keq.

you get like 5 per month and maybe 5 every update. so you can expect one five start pull, what, once per entire x.0 cycle - if you do not actively 'lose' your primos on standard banner that is.

Arknights is basically the opposite when it comes to the standard banner. Most of the roster can be acquired from general pool of characters. You could get a 6 star character that is either on rate-up or get spooked by an off banner character. Getting 4,5, or 6 stars gives a currency called "Yellow Certificate," which if you have 180 will allow you to buy a copy of the character that is in the shop. The Roster is so big that Hypergryph split it into 2 gacha pools with new characters get added to the standard banner. The limited characters are few and far between due to Arknights having 3-4 limited banners a year unless there's a collab event like with Rainbow 6 Siege or Monster Hunter. The limited banners features the 1 limited character, and 1 character that'll be added general pool after the banner. Previous limited characters will also be on rate-up, so there's a chance you may obtain them. However As of the time time I'm writing this. Shu will be more difficult to obtain unless you're lucky the next time the Sui sibling banner comes around next year, and Zuo Le gets added the standard pool when the banner ends. I kind of doubt Genshin will add older limited characters to the standard pool let alone listen to its player base.

And no, it wouldn't change the odds of getting a 4-star. You know that increasing the amount of 4-stars hasn't changed the odds of getting a 5-star.
4* weapon pulls as well. Think about it- have you ever pulled an Inazuma, Sumerian, or Fontainian 4 star weapon? We actually have plenty of weapons from those regions and some are actually really good but no one talks about them due to being locked away as weapon banner exclusives. The standard pool of 4 star weapons hasn't changed since Version 1.0 iirc and you can only obtain Mondstadter or Liyuean weapons from a standard pull

Genshin Impacts Standard Banner is the most stingiest Banner I have ever seen.. If you are unlucky you barely get ONE 5* a year.. It's horrible
Sorry about the compare, but still Honkai Impact 3 shows that they can add old 5*s to standard! Or make them available thru some other means (farming frags, memorial arena...). Since I believe due to the wording, they can't add limited 5*s to the Wonderlust Invokation but they could just make a new "standard" banner w/ a diff name & it wouldn't violate that statement. (not saying we need a 3rd banner, they can just replace the current one).
Like I do appreciate not putting newer 5*s on there, but idk I think after 3 banners (debut & 2 reruns) that should be a good time to add them to the standard pool. It diminishes the problem of needing too many reruns all the time.
I think they should have put the max pity at 60 on the chronicled wish banner.
Would it have made the characters more interesting ? No. But it would have made the banner more attractive because people would have seen "a good deal" in this banner (I'm not saying it is, by definition a Gacha is never a good deal, let's say it's a better deal), much cheaper than a rerun would be, and more people would have pulled to get characters they like but wouldn't be willing to pursue at a full price.
I doubt that Hoyo is going to add new characters to the standard banner for 2 reasons:
1. Money
2. I think that a lot of players are going to get mad because X character is going to become permanently available, and I guess that a good number of players enjoy having the exclusivity of having X character.
Personally, I don't mind. It's 99% a single player game, but idk about the rest of the player base
No, it's not truthly a single player game because everyone treating Spiral Abyss like actual PVP place.
Everyone always harsh judging characters in terms of power, individually rather than synergies in one team together. While no one else would think about there's no Leaderboards like the best Clear Time like HI3's Exalted Abyss and also none would think of no additional rewards for Speedrunners by using most of META Characters only.
While buffing characters still impossible, but everyone demands to demoting weak characters evenmore weaker like 1-3★ characters from most gacha games.

As much as AFK Journey hasn't gone as well as people may have hoped, I did like the setup system they had for their tickets (pulls). Standard banner where you select two 4-stars and 5-stars (in genshin terms) for each faction, then all of your pulls will result in characters from that pool. There's also the featured character banner where you always get the character on the banner when you reach pity, then another banner where you just select 5 characters from which to pull from when you hit a 5-star draw. Some morphing of this system for genshin for its character and weapon banners would go a long way.
They should make a trading system. (Not with other players):
Like we submit unused or unwanted 5 stars to the store and we then get points. These points can be used to purchase a 5* from the shop. Depending on the 5*, the # of points needed will differ.
That way players that lose 50/50 can somewhat be happy that they can eventually accumulate enough points to get a 5* they want from the shop.
I'd gladly give up my c8 Jean and c4 keqing if that's the case
I agree with the point of changing standard banner to rotating chronicle banners in which you can choose an epitomized path. So a banner of 5-6 5* characters where your first 5* is a random one of them and ur 2nd one is guaranteed to be the chosen one. That way we can save up the (currently) almost useless standard wishes for when a cycle with several characters we want comes around. This way we also let older characters be available more often while not making them too easily C6able
I think my favorite gatcha that did standard banner right are from cygames. Princess connect put their new "5*" into permanent banner for you to get spooked by them. The only limited characters are seasonal or festive.

might be a way to simple to think but, keep the caracters limited to their debut banner, then add them to the perma one, at the exeption of Archons,
And it still allow Hoyo to have an even better shine on the Archon as they are the only real limited caracter despite coming back every X versions
It would be nice if the games banners were like Reverse 1999: adding the limited characters as ones you can lose too after 3 patches from their initial release and then giving them a banner for those who do want to get them and not have the chance of losing to them.

I WISH there was an epitomized path on standard banner. It’s been so long and I’ve lost almost all my 50/50’s and I still don’t have Jean, Tighnari or Mona.
Easy solution for reruns: have 3 limited banners per phase. or even 4 banners (sometimes if needed). the chronicled wish banner is a failure to address the problem of reruns because it has so many restrictions.
This is my idea solution. Example:

4 Limited character banners:
- Mualani
- Raiden
- Shenhe
- Wriothesley
2 Weapon banners:
- Mualani & Raiden sig weapons

Tbh, even if they just made the basic banner have a chance of giving just a constellation of a character you already have, meaning that a failed 50/50 or a random basic banner pull has a chance to give you a dupe of a character you already have would make the basic banner infinitely better

they should give one copy of limited 5 star for free. i guess the problem would become is it like 5 options and you pick one or 1 character hyv thinks is necessary for players & would it be existing or new characters.
Examples:
-Ratio in hsr
-hi3 gave herresher of origin (a powerful raiden mei) for basically free (do 4 quests to obtain her). it was time gated but still a good way to help new players and ppl who missed her banners.

I also feel like that shouldnt be the end. We are talking that if they were to add so many units to their standard banner, everything would be fixed, but idk how your pulls are going on the standard, but unless i buy the monthly pulls, get a new unit or some new region releases and I actually bother to explore it, Im not getting standard pulls. Not giving pulls would make players have to pull on the standard, which I dont think even the biggest fans of certain characters would wanna do, have a chance to get the unit you like. Even without the new units, I feel giving more pulls for the standard, some pity system and/or just having a lower pity would make the standard actually more viable because I dont think I can remember the last time Ive seen more than 2 5 stars on the history tab at the same time(because it auto deletes the history and stuff)

Still watching. But from a historic point of view, Hoyo only updated the standard banner of one of their games. (Well, not too sure on Gun Girls since its no longer on global) And that was Honkai Impact 3rd. Sadly, not even HSR on its Anniversary did an update on the standard banner.
Idk if you play it but solo leveling arise adds all limited characters and weapons to standard banner after their banner ends(despite the fact that they still do reruns) and you can chose 4 of either characters or weapons to get an increase in rate up for and since standard banner tickets are very easy to get in the game it allows you to get more copies of a character I feel like genshin would be better if they added a system like that

Here's a question, what's the team and combat format of that game? Do you need at least one character for every role and every element?
Basically, are required to pull for a wider roster, or is it just nice to have a bigger roster?

Here's what I want them to do:
1) create and maintain a list of event limited five-star characters that have been out at least one year, sorted by demand. So the likes of Kazuha and all-Archons-not-named-Venti are at the top, the likes of Itto are at the bottom.
2) immediately chop off the bottom half of the list and add them and their signature weapons to the standard banner. (And Tighnari and Dehya's.)
3) going forward, whenever a new character enters the list by hitting their one year release anniversary, the bottom character and their weapon gets shifted to the standard banner.
4) add epitomized path to the standard banner, with let's say a three fate point threshold. Why so high? Because of point 5:
5) lost 50/50s on event banners count toward standard banner epitomized path.

I mean… wouldn’t that discourage players from swiping? If someone theoretically pulls for Arlecchino, and gets a Hu Tao instead, they’d think “Well, not exactly what I wanted, but that’s good enough anyway..”. I think having such.. bad units on the standard is a way to make sure nobody is fine with losing a 50/50

I only play genshin out of the now 3 of their major games and i really only play epic7 and sort of reverse 1999 for other gacha but after seeing all the good things from honkai and other gachas that are doing better than genshin and its a bummer how little hoyo seems to care about improving genshin it felth like a passion turned into pure efficient profit

Why didn't you discuss the fact that they legally CAN'T add them to the standard banner?
Each limited character description states "this character will not be added to wanderlust invocation" aka standard banner
If they add them, it would be false advertising and would put them in legal trouble, especially in China

What stopping from saying after this point all units will come to the standard banner of x so many years. And I don't think anyone would care if they added them anyway. Players are not going to get mad and sue. When zhongli was buffed no one sued enough he was changed. The sued when neuvllete was nerfed. When it to peoples benefit they are not going to care.

I believe Genshin needs to introduce particularly themed banners to improve overall availability for their characters.
Example: Pyro banner, Electro banner, Archon banner, Support banner, etc.
One themed banner alongside the latest one each time will not only prevent travelers from being overwhelmed with choices(as they claim they would be) but also provide an exciting experience at the notion of getting one of a handful of previous characters they’ve never gotten before to play as.
Has Vars been playing for this long and STILL doesn’t understand it is LITERALLY illegal for them to add their five stars to the standard banner as it exists now? How?
Generally *ALL* banners need work
*Weapon Banner* - Allow Fate Points to carry over between patches, that one fix *ALONE* would be a *HUGE* win to both whales and casual players alike and make it worth the gamble of pulling on
*Character Banner* - Triple Banners *would* be helpful since with Genshin expanding roster of characters and each patch generally giving one new character, that's 3 reruns per patch, a second banner hosting two extra characters each patch would help reduce back up of characters waiting for reruns
*Standard Banner* - Rotate characters from older versions into the Standard Banner. Taking some units with weaker constellations and some with stronger ones (half and half) would added to the Standard Banner and the Standard Banner would operate like Paimon's where it resets once per patch and new characters will be rotated in. That or add something like HSR where after a certain number of patches, you're allowed to chose your 5-Star unit, it might be abusable but it's fair and how many people will spend their primos or money on Acquaint Fates? Add Tighnari and Dehya's signature to the Standard Banner (Along with Primordial Jade Cutter) cause may as well, better then never letting them run again
Characters like the Archons and Neuvillette would be barred due to their narrative importance and keep their guaranteed once a year reruns, that's fair.
*Chronicled Wish Banner* - This becomes the permanent third banner where instead of Standard Five Stars being added, you have 6 limited characters and their weapons available with the same fate point system where if you lose your 50/50 you potentially still get an ideal unit. Each patch can be region with the limited characters hailing from that specific nation. Rather then last just 3 weeks (smh), it last the whole patch. Though if doing this, at least add enough units to the Standard Banner to rotate each month (so there's max 15-20 units on the Standard banner). Fate points are allowed to carry over between patches

I'd say miHoYo needs a wishlist feature alongside an expansion of the Standard Banner roster.
My idea would be that this wishlist would allow you to set up a maximum of 5 characters from the Standard Banner, four of which you must already own, but the fifth slot can be any Standard Banner character, owned or not.
This would allow miHoYo to control which characters get "phased out" without overbloating the Standard Banner, and they'd no longer need to rerun "unprofitable" characters anymore. And at the same time, players would have a legit reason to pull on the Standard Banner to get more cons, and collectors would have a chance to catch up, albeit VERY slowly. This, in turn, would counteract "dead patches", as people who don't care for the Limited Banners could still splurge for cons and classics.
honestly the Chronicled banner could be 40 max pity and no 50/50 and i'd still hesitate to pull for something like Hunter's Path for my Tighnari

The last time i pulled on the standard banner was the first day of 2.1. Right now i have over 500 pulls sitting in my inventory. Waiting for a significant change for the standard banner, that may never come.
I've started playing Genshin this week and the scarcity of available characters is just crazy to me. I've been playing gatcha games for more than a decade, and I understand that the game doesn't have that many characters, but realistically all I can get even if I wanted to spend thousands of euros is a handful of them. I'm not asking for all new characters to be added to standard immediately (as they are in other games I play) but I have seen that result in great player retention. For example me and many other BBS players will save up standard summon tickets for up to a year before anniversary, since anniversary characters will always be premium on release, even with a ridiculously small chance of getting them you still have managed to make me play the game and farm events that I otherwise wouldn't have. It's just insane to me that so few options are available for a new player.
I've always thought and crafted different modifications they could do for the standard banner to include more characters or to make cyclical banners. They could either:
-Include two characters per region to the standard banner like you mentioned (probably the lowest ones in sale)
-Cyclical standard banner that change throughout the year (each cycle features a different group of characters from a specific region)
-INCLUDE THE EPITHOMIZED PATH and have it like in Star Rail that you can select s specific character after X amount of rolls
Now as for characters they could include per region, I definitely think this bunch make sense:
-Mondstadt: Klee and Albedo
-Liyue: Xiao (his freaking Signature Weapon is already a part of the Standard Banner), and either Shenhe or Baizhu
-Inazuma: Yoimiya and Arataki Itto
-Sumeru: well, in here we already have Tighnari and Dehya
-Fontaine: Wriothesley and Siegwinne
they should make it so that when you get a character, they're available in the standard banner
I hope they add Ayato, Ganyu, Shenhe and Yoimiya on standard banner atleast.
An interesting idea I think they could try is do region-based chronicled wishes through the year alongside regularly scheduled unit releases for a limited time split across 1-2 months based on the roster, such that the 50/50 pool never gets too large.
Ex:
January-February: Old Liyue Units
April-May: Old Mondstadt Units
June-July: Old Inazuma Units/ Old Natlan Units
August-September: Old Fontaine Units
November: Old Sumeru Units
December: Old Archons Across each region
It's not a foolproof concept, but something like this would give people something to look forward to, as well as a guarantee that Hoyo can turn a profit at the end of every year since every player would want a first copy of an archon or a constellation, and having to win 50/50 across all 7 (eventually) would be pretty fun.
Kudos to this man who's been making videos for years asking for many changes and fixes to better the game, but nothing has ever been implemented yet still he persist.
