Good for Charles. It wasn't a fluke. The guy comes from very humble beginnings and seems like a good person with his head on straight. He deserves it all.

Dustin is 5'9 and barefoot here, and is about 1 inch taller than Joe who has a minimum of 2.5 inches in his street shoe heels. This makes Joe 5' 5 1/2" at the very most.

Writing him off? This is an incredibly competitive division with at least a half dozen guys that could win on any given night. That being said, Charles is the most well rounded of all of them and should be favored against everyone in the division.

Yes I was torn between the two because they had a similar career path. They both came in the ufc very young at 145, they had a lot of up and downs in that division and then moved up to 155.

Poirier was smart to fight Mcgregor twice before this loss because if he took the title fight after Hooker fight and lost to Charles, he wouldn't have got the millions in his bank after fighting Conor back to back. Smart move by Dustin and eager to see what's next for him!

@Last Preston There's quickly, recently become a phenomena among a lot of MMA fans where tapping is quitting and quitting is shameful, forgetting the fact a tonne of the absolute best, greatest killers on the planet have tapped at one point or another. People calling Conor: McTapper and guys like Gaethje saying tapping (to strikes or chokes) is quitting, like how he kept omitting that he tapped to Khabib and 'wouldn't go out like a bitch'. Every monster from GSP to Colby to Usman to Conor to Poirier to Gaethje to Oliveira to Nunes to Anderson Silva, have all tapped. But, as I say, more and more, for some bizarre reason, people are buying into the idea that tapping to fight another day when you have done all you can do and are beaten, is quitting, which is baffling.

I could see him fighting Michael Chandler or the loser of Dariush/Makachev. He is still the first in the LW division and will continue unless he loses one of those 2 fights. The moment I saw the walkout of Dustin and the look on his face, I knew it would be a rough night for him. He looked so relax and confident in the walkout to the Connor fights and here he had this stern, concerned look on his face.

Man it hurts just thinking about the ending results of that fight… I believe Dustin really does have what it takes to win in that matchup, he just let the nerves and the pressure get to his head.. But don’t get me wrong, Oliveira preformed some Champion like ground impound on Dustin and simply out skilled him on the ground but I think if Dustin’s take down defense was just a little more on point this match, he would have out boxed Oliveira and would have that belt around his waist..
