So my first comment is on the 1st video the gentleman demonstrates turning on the "Preserve Transparency" on the witch image to eliminate the white thick border and preserve the fade around it. From experience If you were to print that as it was, you end up with a white or greyish "haze" around it. My suggestion is to create a layer behind the image (in PS) to fill it with black (or shirt color) so it has a hard edge for the white to "tuck" behind because it can't hide behind transparent pixels.
2nd is you have to be careful with the brightness slider. If you have pure white in your image, Sliding the brightness up starts to negate that white (because white can't get any brighter) and you LOSE white in an image. I found this out with a bowling pic where i needed the black ball brighter but I lost the white in the pins.
Last, a suggestion for the programmers (beside the 2 I listed) is instead of needing "colored" paper to test my results, why can't they simply put the substrate color on the preview page? Its a pretty accurate representation but very hard to "imagine" what it would look like on the color its going on. The ink is expensive, why should I constantly waste it on copy paper, especially if its a full sized design?

Dave Nowicki that's a good point put the substrate color on the preview page to see the results if we want to print on color shirts.

You recommend printing on paper as a preview, this doesn't work. The white will be on top of the colors.
