i got chills when she started singing i will survive and the guy said "she was gonna be huge" ughhhh...it pisses me off....why did it have to happen this way...
Selena’s passing put a whole dark cloud in the Latino community, Tejano music industry and the whole entire world 💔💔 3/31/1995 was the worst day ever! 😔😔 May the queen continue to rest in eternal peace. 25 years later and her legacy is still growing and growing stronger.
Thanks for posting. Please keep this up if you can, I'd like to show it to my 7th grade music classes this year-we talk about Latin music for one day out of our 15 day cycle.
@musicchick581 The documentary this clip is taken from, Latin Music USA, narrated by Jimmy Smits, is excellent. It covers the whole history of Latin music in this country, from Cuban son, to the mambo clubs of New York, to salsa, Latin pop and Latin-influenced rock.
@lee78221 Selena may not be a common name in Latin America, but it wouldn't be pronounced the same. The rules of Spanish pronunciation are very simple. Anyone could learn them in a few minutes. Unlike English, there are only 5 vowel sounds.

@conguera Because that's her name. There is no word for "Selena" in Spanish. It's pronounced the same way in both English and Spanish.

Just curious. Why doesn't anyone pronounce her name in Spanish?
