3:05, I recently bought the fifine, I’d say it’s a great mic for a fair price. Although the noise cancellation isn’t that great you can easily fix that in your recording software or when you use discord to call and etc.
It’s great for if you’re on a tight budget, and are a starter to microphones. I know content creators that use this mic and have a satisfying ASMR gameplay.
It is worth it with good audio?
Ah sorry for late reply, I’d say yeah. The audio’s great. Especially for ASMR’s, just put the mic somewhere on your desk next to your keyboard and not in front. You can easily adjust the volume as well. I’m sorry, I didn’t get notified until 2 weeks later.
@@yukimo3341 i went with the behringer umc22 (10 bucks more compared to the um2, but the um2 is still completly fine) and the xm8500 and gosh is the soundquality amazing!! I have it too, Just try not to put the gain to high if you have a higher voice. It's kinda "hissy".
How is it even after 3 weeks later? Pros and cons?
I've had the upgraded version (K670) for a while its a probably the best plug and play mic under $50 for sure. If you're just looking to buy it for calls and chatting with friends its really good. If you're looking to do music stuff, again very good, just gotta remember its a condenser mic so the instruments and everything play have to be in front of it. If you're looking to game or stream with it, like Linus said defo get a mic arm so it doesn't pick up your keyboard as much. Also have to fiddle around with the audio settings abit to reduce more of the background noise
James Excell mo too

Lol, sorry about that. It's because that we're running in pretty low inventory and the warehouses don't let in our products until next month. Just got a Neewer NW-800 condensator microphone with an arm, pop filter and phantom power supply for 40€, next thing will be a good USB interface such as Behringer's UMC202HD.
i got that mic a few months back, works well enough for me, no complaints, but i don't really make anything. and i also need a good usb dac for it like you, but the phantom power works well enough without much boost. can play youtube videos in the background on my computer while in a chat without having it picked up at my normal listening and recording volume.

if you want recommend me something (I probably won't upgrade to a USB interface for months though) but you won't be making friends being so aggressive.

I was answering to Donkey Kong, sorry for the confusion
Benito Llan Matos dont worry about donkey kong. Behringers used to be kinda trash, but since their merge with Midas their quality has gone up a ton. I wouldn't recommend the one in the video, since that model still uses old internals, but I believe any model above that one has the new stuff. Just look under the mic port for "MIDAS PREAMPS" and you should be good 👌

I agree. I didn't like the Meteorite and got the Go Mic. Way better and it's super tiny. The software that comes with it makes it so I can have my LSR305 speakers blasting and it won't pick it up in the mic at all.
Yup, that's the one I'm using too. Did a lot of research before buying it, and I'm not disappointed. Have had it for 3 years now.
Mine died during a thunderstorm 😂😂 but nonetheless a great microphone when looking for sth cheap
I used the fifine mic before I upgraded to a blue yeti and I *highly* recommend it. There is little difference between the new and old mics despite almost a $75 difference in price. However, it is rather quiet so it’s best used with a pop filter, boom arm and high gain; a setup that cost me just around $50.
Thanks for this vid! I was looking for a good mic becuase i was using a headset mic, and i got the FiFine k669 and i love it! thanks so much
I have the xm8500 and umc22. Killer combo for cheap, perfect audio
As an owner of the Blue Snowball Ice, I can say that it's actually pretty sufficient. One problem though is that it's often too good at picking up background noise.
Just Thomas blue yeti owner here with voicemeeter for extra bass. Cost some more but like it alot
Yeah my snowball also picks up background noise way too much
thats weird i got the snowball ice and im told i have no background( an ac+ 2 fans runing24/7)
It filters out static type background noise (fans, AC, etc.) very well, but I find it picks up my keyboard a bit more than I'd like. Getting a cheap mic stand to raise it up off the desk helps a lot, though. They're like $10 on amazon.
I can absolutely vouch for the Fifine. Bought it on sale for £20 last September and it still works perfectly and sounds great over Discord etc. (my friends were genuinely stunned when I told them I was using a £20 USB mic)! I don’t and wouldn’t use it for audio production but for game chat/ streaming and even VO, it’s literally perfect! And yes using a proper mount definitely helps remedy the noise isolation issue :)
Can you link a proper mount. I just got this thing and I cant find a mount for it.

@LightNessITA I have the Meteor. What a piece of shit. Mine doesn't work half the time when I try to use it. Have to replug that shit so many times. Started to do that when the warrenty ran out.
I have the fifine combo mic which comes with a pop filter pod and pop filter pro and a boom arm and tripod for 75$ and it works very nice and since I have other stuff it came with I put it to use (the tri pod) as a controller stand/holder
I've been using for fifine for a year now. I use it for audio roleplays. Ngl its a really good mic. The only problem is that it picks up a lot of far distant noises. So usually editing is a pain in the ass for me but overall its really good. Just had to add more bass to my audios to make it sound better
I've been using a Bird UM-1 mic for two years and a half now, it works flawlessly and has an inculded shock mount so I only had to buy a cheap boom stand. I'd recommend that one! (yes, it's sub-50$ excluding the arm I had to buy)
Personally that Fifine sounds really good. I didn't know something like that exists
Ken Reels there are cheaper mics from fifine on Amazon and they also sound really good. I bought their original mic for $21.99, the one with 3000 plus reviews, and it's awesome.
War_Destroyer I'm already in the XLR mic with a mixer setup so I wasn't in the market for one. Just like to know this kind of info when people ask me for recommendations.
Most of USB mic's sounds pretty well. I've got a Novox NC-1 and it have good, clear sound. Nad you can also find something cheaper that will be good enught.

2 Video Ideas I'd like to see:
1. 40 Years of Intel CPUs benchmarked. Kind of like you did with the GPUs, try and compare the most significant processors Intel has made (start with the original 8086, then maybe a 386, a Pentium 1, an early Core 2 Duo, and finally the new i7 8086K)
2. Windows Registry as fast as possible. Most people kinda know what to do with it, but tell us how it actually works, and how it improved Windows after its introduction (in Win 3.1 i think?)

Eduardo Avila And they said I was mad for using a dust cover when my keyboard isn't in use! HA! All that cheesy corn powder and my keyboard is still clean!
I personally use the Tonor TC 777 and it sounds so good
It's of importance to note that an audiostream over discord or ingame voice chat is gonna be really compressed, so even if an xlr mic is gonna blow a cheap usb mic out of the water in a direct comparison, the difference might be negligable depending on the use case. I've actually done the test using an sm58 with a scarlett interface (250$ setup) and an Logitech E-ur20 Usb (5-10$) and over discord the difference is shockingly small. The sound was a little muffle and less clear in the highs, but overall the quality of the logitech was complable over discord (for like 3% of the price). Not to mention that the usb mic is much less of a pain to work with.
But when I've included a cheap usb-webcam mic into the testing it picked up a LOT more of the room and the difference in audio quality between the logitech usb and the sm58 shrunk in comparison.
So I'd have to recommend a cheap mic for anyone who isn't gonna record anything, specifically a mic that sits close to your mouth, as this in my experience reduces background noise and aids clarity.
I have the xm8500, and the sound quality beats everything else on the market for 20$. One heads up though. Its sensitivity is super low (0.3mV/PA, Which is equal to about -70 dB. So you need a lot of gain for it to work on decent volume
I get you set a limit of $50 but I feel you should mention audiotechnica's AT2005USB. It has both USB and XLR input for about $70. So you can buy and use the mic with USB until you decide if you want to upgrade to XLR. I was skeptical that the limited frequency range would be noticeable(to me at least ) but found in game that for normal chat it works great.
there's like literally no point
the only benefit to getting an xlr interface like the one in the video, is that it's better than your integrated audio, and you have many more options for xlr microphones than usb
xlr is not inherently better than usb, it's just more widely supported by higher end equipment, and therefore cheaper equipment
Link Freeman I’m not saying it’s inherently better Im just offering a path of upgradability. What people choose to go with after they experience their first mic is subjective. For example I prioritize sound quality, sound isolation and ease of use so usb dynamic mics became a necessity.
A very good example of a USB mic they're not considering, that would kick every choice they made "in the arse".
Plug that puppy into the same pre-amp and things should be sweet as pie.
I also get why they set a 50$ limit, and later ignore it - It's to avoid any USB Cardioid mic, since they know it'll show how bad they are at audio setup, and it would wreck the entire premise of this and other videos they've made :)
Mr. Miss, can you explain better the ending part of your comment? Thanks
I was confused as to why they didn't mention it at first as well. When I bought my AT2005USB off Amazon it was $50 at the time. I didn't realize it had gone back up in price since then.
I have the blue yeti microphone and I'm absolutely loving it!

my theory is that it's multiple people using one account that watch different types of videos commenting on nearly every video they watch to form the illusion of someone that seems to be everywhere!
How did you know that I heard that???
I use the Shure SM-58 vocal mic for my youtube channel and I LOVE IT. But I had to go through a super cheap Behringer mixer to get rid of noise since my motherboard's mic amplification was dirty as hell. Strange, considering the quality of the PSU and the fact that it's a top of the line MSI p67 chipset board. I basically used the mixer as the mic amp and then put it into my Line In instead of Mic input on my board.
I am using a Rode NT1-a (wich is btw a studiomic) with my Soundcraft EPM 8 mixing console and like this combination very much because you can plug in more stuff to the mixing console like e.g. your headphones or (in my case) my tv , secundary speakers main speakers......
Motherboard audio is always going to be trash. Have you seen the kind of isolation in pro audio equipment? Motherboards don't have the space, nor dedication to actually build a decent interface.
I use a microphone called the Klim Multimedia. It costs $15, and the audio is pretty good. The only problem is that it's really sensitive to noise, so it picks up pretty much every noise you can imagine. Also, the audio is a little too quiet, but I just use Levelator to fix that
the first xlr setup sounds amazing
Right, I am getting that Behringer XM8500 setup. That just sounds amazing. None of the other solutions even compare. It far exceeds the quality of any of the others.

Rocking a tiny(not bigger than the meteorite) Samson GO mic I am happy. It could even handle studio(youtube) recording with a pop filter for just under $50 total. I would recommend it as long as you don't mind that it is 11 years old in design...
I use a guitar hero microphone taped to a metal coathanger. Thanks for the stand Linus.
Behringer UM2 is now 130 dollars on Amazon that seems to be a trend as a whole with Amazon with all XLR interfaces being over 100 dollars.
nope its still 30 bucks here, dont look on amazon go look in onlnie musicstores, there you can get it a lot cheaper or on ebay second hand. i got the behringer um2 for 25 bucks and the xm8500 for 15 bucks, together with a nice preamp and i cant complain. the sounquality is amazing, even as far to be used for professional recordings. and all of that under 70 bucks
@@sasaha8389 It has been dropping since I posted that. 3 months ago there was a huge decrease in supply everywhere not just Amazon (or at least that is why I assumed they all went up everywhere). 3 months ago you would have been very lucky to find any XLR interface for under 100 dollars wherever you looked.

Xm8500 + UMC22. Cheaper than a snowball where I live and sounds better than a yeti. People say it sounds like a expensive radio station mic when I use it while gaming.
@Zxnni New. Got the UMC22 for £32 and the XM8500 for £13. The snowball ice is between £45-£55 depending on the retailer.

Wow I was that exact person you described at the beginning. Then my mic broke and I stumbled on this video while staying up all night waiting for day to pick up my new Snowball Ice mic.
