- Welcome to the last part of the B6641 Sew Along! Today we are just finishing up all the bits and bobs of the jacket. You should have your mitered corner completed and you’ll need to take a pause during this video to refer to the bagged lining tutorial. As always, please let me know if you have any questions!

I loved your instructional video! You did a great job. I don't think the length of your videos were bad and I feel they were very beneficial. You shouldn't apologize about the video length. Would love to see you make more instructional videos!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you, Kristi! More are on their way!
You are a wonderful teacher! I am in my sewing room on my own and it is much less lonely with your videos, voice, and inspiration! Thank you so very much!
What a fantastic and lovely comment! I love that I’m keeping you company!
I struggled with bagging out a jacket last year and so it’s my one and only UFO. Having your tutorial means I now have the necessary prod to get me to look at it afresh to see why it didn’t work and how to correct it! So thanks Whitney.
My pleasure! I think I’m going to do an easier bagged lining tutorial as well (one without vents) in the nearish future so maybe that will help a little more as well. Thank you so much for watching!
Thank you Whitney for a great series. I've really enjoyed the sew-a-long and the tutorials will be a great reference for future projects. Looking forward to future sew-a-longs.
Thank you, Janine, and thanks for watching!
Hi Whitney, fantastic tutorials and so so helpful 👌. Your videos for this jacket are going to be very useful for a long time I would think, so well worth the effort you have put I to these👏😁. Would love for you to do more of these in the future if you have time but enjoy all the things that you post.....thanks so much Whitney 💝😊😘
Thank you, Sally! There will definitely be more in the future. Stay tuned 😉
I sure hope you do more sew-alongs and tutorials! Loved watching the videos; they are not too long, I like the detail and instruction and you can’t do that in five minutes. I am looking forward to trying the jacket myself (if I can get close to my size) and then rewatching them. The jacket is beautiful.
Thank you, Cat! I will definitely do more in the future!
Great series. Watching you cut open your buttonhole, reminded me to put the correct colour interfacing in my waistband next time. Burgundy skirt, ivory interfacing, ran out of black, now sewing on hook and bar. Loved watching even though I am not making the jacket.
Thanks, Audrey! I’m so glad you enjoyed the series!
Awesome sew along Whitney lots of new techniques. I really like the way yo did the notch on the collar. Looking forward to more sew alongs.
Thank you. Val 🇨🇦🇬🇧❤️
It’s my pleasure and I’m so glad you enjoyed it . There will be more!
Love all your videos. Would you consider doing a longer video showing and explaining how you do your narrow shoulder adjustment? Thank you for all your hard work.
Sure!
I love tailored garments, so this is especially appreciated. Thanks!
Your jacket looks fabulous, I have really enjoyed this sew along
I’m so glad!
I am STILL (3-26-19) waiting for my pattern to arrive. Good grief! Someone must be walking it here! It may be NEXT winter before I can start making it. Wonderful of you to make these videos Whitney. People ask me all the time to show them how I make stuff. I'll just send them over here.
😂 that sounds great! Again, thank you so much for the shoutout!!
I love both of you girls ❤️❤️
Thanks for the helpful advice of using Fray Check on button holes. Awesome button hole chisel!
The fray check and the button chisel make a huge difference with buttonholes!
I have loved this sew-a-long and the tutorial videos. Thank you so much for all of the time and effort you have invested to produce not only a fantastic garment but a really useful teaching aid. All I need now is the pattern!
Please keep up the good work, all of your plans and look books are greatly appreciated.
Just one question - when you laid out your pattern pieces on the fabric I didn't see you measuring for the grainline were you following the stripe? Or do you have a secret way to achieve on grain pattern placement :-)?
Thanks - Eva
😂 that step really through a lot of people. I have now cut out SO many things, I can eyeball my grainline. I’ve found that my eye is pretty accurate to about an 1/8th or an inch so I no longer measure. I don’t think about now and that omission threw quite a few people. Your grainline is an important step so definitely make sure all pieces are on grain. Do as I say not as I do 😉. Thanks for watching!
Great first sew along, well done!
Yes, please keep these videos going!! You have taught me so much and I look forward to your next video. Love love love them! Dee
I'm fairly new to watching your channel and have been thoroughly enjoying. Your jacket is stunning and seeing it has encouraged me to make one soon. Thanks so much for sharing your talents !
I’m so glad you found me and are finding the videos helpful!
This was a great sew along! I learned so much. Thank you
My pleasure! I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
This was fascinating to watch!
I'm so glad!
Thank you so much, please continue your tutorials. You are very helpful and encouraging. Will you do one on a full bicep adjustment? I didnt realize that could be done, I usually just try to grade out. Thanks again!
Of course! It’s a fairly easy adjustment.
I would love to see more tutorials!
Flannel blouse. Lol!! Beautiful jacket.
I’m curious as to what purpose the yoke piece served on the jacket front. Did it contribute to shaping at all? Would it be the same if you attached the yoke to the jacket front and cut it out as one piece?
Don’t apologize for the lengthy videos. Showing all the steps is very helpful. Also, wanted to tell you we are going on our annual Sanibel trip at the beginning of May. Any new places on the island we should check out?
Yes! The Jacaranda got a facelift (and new management I believe). It’s now The Jac and it’s so good. I highly recommend it!!!
Love your videos. Please do more instructional videos.
LOVE LOVE LOVE
Question, could you quickly show how you block fuse your interfacing, I have never done that. Thank you so much. Dee
I don’t block fuse. I just cut out the piece in both fabric and interfacing and then fuse them together.
I have a nice pair of pinking shears but was told they are not good for seam allowances. You used them for this jacket and I am wondering what other situations you use them. Thanks for all your great videos - I am learning so much!
I use mine for grading/trimming seam allowances. They are great on tight curves like necklines and arm holes!
@@TomKatStitchery I would love to see you demonstrate a blouse pattern that has a collar with a collar stand. Thanks for your great videos!
Jennifer Donze sure! I can definitely do that!
Where can I see the finished jacket when you stand up? I would love to see it on a real person, not the model on the envelope iykwim. Thank you.
Sorry about that! I could have sworn I put footage of me wearing the jacket at the end of this video! You can see it in my Spring Seasonal Sew 3 look book that’s here: m.ua-cam.com/video/d1aSpdC-id0/v-deo.html
