    Bought this system (from you) for my class c cap system and tow vehicle, I have had 2 blow outs over the years, this system is very good put 5k miles on it ,I put borg valve stems on and cap sensors because they are small and blend in thanks again

    This video is SO helpful!! Thank you! We just bought a Class A, pretty sure they are metal- the dually's in the back have such long stems that move around a little bit, I think we will be going with the cap just for peace of mind.

    Very helpful video. I bought the TST from you, but I have not installed it yet. I feel more confident that I purchased the correct sensors.

    Awesome video, if I had seen this video yesterday I would not have had to contact you. I appreciate your email today and appreciate you taking the time to reply. I went with your advice and ordered the stem cap sensors. My 5th wheel has the GM factory trailer tire TPMS that is set up to work on my 2020 GMC Sierra Denali 3500HD. Problem is we had a blow-out between Needles and Barstow on our way home from Arizona this March. Nothing like getting stuck in the middle of nowhere and trying to change a left side tire with cars/trucks whizzing by at 75mph. It took me approx 1hr to get the blown tire off and spare put on. Once we were on the road and had been traveling for 15min only THEN did I get a TPMS dash warning that there was a problem with one of the trailer tires. NO KIDDING as it was in the back of my truck in shreds as it had run flat for a distance before I saw the smoke. I lost total confidence in the GM trailer tire TPMS and will now rely upon the TST 507-C for monitoring tire pressure and temps.

      Wow! That sounds like a horrible day, Terry. I'm so happy you are okay after all of that! You will be so much happier with your new TST. As you know, you can always get in touch with us if you have any questions. Safe travels and thanks for the comment!

    Question with the cap sensors how do you check & fill air in tires. I assume you remove caps air up and put cap back on? No need to reprogram after each time ? Correct
    Flow thru caps just air up thru cap like normal

    • @Technorv
      @Technorv  4 роки тому

      You are correct on both! You would have to remove the cap sensor just like you remove the valve stem cap in order to add or remove air. The flow through sensor has a valve stem on the end of it so you don't have to remove the sensor itself to add or remove air.
      Also, removing the sensor does not deprogram it. You can take the sensor off and even change the battery and not have to reprogram it!

    A word of caution. I have a small aluminum trailer I carry our side by side on. One wheel has a metal valve stem, one has a rubber, not sure why as I purchased it used. On a trip that included a 20 mile wash boarded road, our cap sensor on the rubber stem had beaten itself into pieces against the rim due to the washboards. If you can get your stems changed to metal, I would certainly due so on any vehicle using a screw on TPMS sensor.

  • @markkollmann7638

    Can you explain why you can't use the flow thru sensor on a rubber valve stem...is it because of the weight of the sensor? Thanks for the video BTW.

    • @Technorv
      @Technorv  4 роки тому

      Hi Mark! Yes, the size of the flow through sensor is why they aren't recommended for rubber valve stems. Because they are a bit longer and heavier, over time, they may wear on a rubber stem. They do fine on a metal stem though and are a time- saving option if you need to add air!

    I wish I watched this video before I purchased, I have 6 flow through sensors I am not using had to replace with cap sensors.

    What about tamper proof sensors? Is it worth the extra money?

    • @Technorv
      @Technorv  4 роки тому +1

      All TST sensors come with theft-resistant locking nuts so they are tamper proof. You can choose whether or not to use them when you install them.

    can you use 2 different pressure setting? for example 110 psi my semi, and 75 psi for snowmobile trailer. 1 unit and 2 pressure settings

    • @Technorv
      @Technorv  4 роки тому

      The TST pressure settings are set for each axle and can be different for each axle on your vehicles.

    Eric, I assume when I order caps for a tow vehicle to be purchased...I can setup the RV, and add the tow vehicle later? How does that effect the initial setup?

    • @Technorv
      @Technorv  3 роки тому

      Randy - adding new sensors later isn't hard to do at all. You will just program them into the monitor like you did the RV and you are good to go!

    • @randymain9057
      @randymain9057 3 роки тому

      @@Technorv can they be programmed at the same time as the RV...and just not deploy them until we pickup the tow vehicle...keeping in mind those 4 sensors would show no pressure?

    • @Technorv
      @Technorv  3 роки тому

      Yes, you could program them all and if the towed vehicle is out of range of the motorhome, they won't show up. You can also hide them on the monitor until you are ready to use them.

    Are internal sensors an option? I know that it would require the tire to be unmounted and the new sensor/valve-stem installed but, is there a product that is integrated and provide both temperature an tire pressure readout?

    • @Technorv
      @Technorv  4 роки тому

      Yes. John. TST offers an internal sensor that is compatible with the color monitor used with external sensors. We would be able to provide that for you, but you would need to call to order. We don't currently have them online. Just give us a call at 866-324-7915 and we'd be happy to help.

    Eric. Is it possible to put metal stems on a wheel that has a rubber stamps so that I can use the flow through

      @Technorv  4 роки тому

      Hi Lou, Yes, you can change your stems out. I would recommend checking out haltec.com. They can help find the right metal valve stem for your RV.

    I have dual tires in the back and the inter tire valve stem is not very accessible how do I get one of these installed on the stem.

    • @Technorv
      @Technorv  2 роки тому

      A lot of people with dual tires have to install extensions to the valve stem to make them accessible. We sell the Wheelmaster brand, but you could also look at braided stainless extensions from Wheelmaster that we do not carry yet.

    Could someone please tell me what the temperature of the tire should be running and what I should set my TPMS at

    • @Technorv
      @Technorv  4 роки тому

      Hi Gary! The temperature of your tires should be relatively close to the ambient temp outside while you are sitting. They do increase as you drive, but tires don't start to break down until they get to about 200 degrees. The main reason you see temps increase higher than normal while driving is low psi, which is why a TPMS is so important. The TST alarms you when your tire temp gets to 156 degrees which gives you plenty of time to get off the road to check the psi, brakes, and other things that could cause an increase in temperature. Hope this helps!

    Why is there no mention about the internal sensors that are offered?

      You can mix any of the TST 507 sensors on one monitor. Let me know if this doesn't answer your question.

    You did not cover the Internal Sensors why not???

    • @Technorv
      @Technorv  4 роки тому

      Hey Doc, 99% of those that get a TPMS use the external sensors and so we thought we would just cover that for the masses. Good point though, maybe I can get a video on internal sensors soon. Thanks for the recommendation. Eric
