How far away was the extender from your router? If war abit to far off then the extender will also perform poorly. I had the same issue with mine and I moved it closer to the router and received better connectivity and performance.
yes. I still can't seem to get mine to work. Not having a separate SSID is a pain as I can't tell if the extender is making any difference at all to the reception in my shed. @@GrumpyMansREVIEWS
@@bertenz959I’m trying to move the router closer to the bedroom. It’s asking for a password I didn’t set in initial setup and can’t access it. Aggravating

The extender isn't to blame here. All it does is mirror the speed of the router. So if your router is junk, garbage in, garbage out. Upgrade your router too to 6 or 6e to get the boost in speed.
wait you lost me. i'm confused. at 3:50 into your video it looks like the extender is producing fast internet speeds. but then at the end of your video it shows poor speeds. And the end of the video says you dont recommend this product. but does it not produce fast speeds? what am i seeing at timecode 3:50?
Great demo! Very instructive. So just to confirm, for the Mesh Extender AX1600, you mentioned in the beginning that it will use the exact same SSID as my modem router (Bell in this case), right? There will be no "SSIDName_EXT" separate wifi network name that will show up beside my original SSID. And to confirm that it is working properly, all the green lights are on, and in the Nighthawk app on the Network Map on top, I see the diagram of my router connected to EAX12 Extender. Also when I go to Device Manager (in Nighthawk), I already see 3 devices connected respectively to 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
Just tried it with no luck. It has the green light and it worked once before several months back. I’ve tried a 5ghz and 2.4 networks at home. The app won’t detect the product even with a factory reset and setting up as new device
This extender sucks. Every time I get it setup it says I can't connect to the wifi extended network that I created. The problem is that they don't allow me to change the extender networks name so it ends up having the SAME EXACT NAME AS THE MAIN WIFI NETWORK!!!!
But the BT Hub is NOT WiF 6. I had the same trouble as you and I tracked it down to the BT Hub. So I changed BT Hub for a TP Link WiFi 6 router and the speed flew absolutely broke the speed record with speeds of 600 mbps. So maybe you should try replacing that bundle of junk the BT Hub. Remember if they are giving that Hub away just think how much it is costing to make….just a suggestion
Thanks for sharing your experience! I do have my own Asus mesh system, it's gone in for repair. To be fair to BT they Hub 2 isn't bad I tried my Netgear rax120 first but the wi-fi wasn't reaching the bedrooms, at least the BT Hub 2 has the whole house covered. The BT Hub 2 is a lot better than Virgin media Hub 5 which is wi-fi 6.
@@GrumpyMansREVIEWS I had the BT Mesh system and again it didn’t work as well as TP-link wi-fi 6 router. The BT Mesh system was expensive and I thought because it was all from the same company BT I thought they must work well together but no I rarely got 100mpbs. So my route for speed was to get TP-Link Archer AX1800 Next-Gen WiFi 6 Gigabit Dual Band Wireless Cable Router at around £59 and as I say I am getting on average 600mpbs on BTs Fibre 900 system (unfortunately it costing me now nearly £100 a month but if I was a new customer I would get it for £59….. my son in law has just cancelled his subscription and resigned in my daughters name and is getting it for £59…..unfortunately I a couple of months left to my subscription otherwise I would do the same deal)
