    What I've always liked about the Toro single stage is they're light enough to muscle around by hand when the need arises. Bought my first one brand new in 1992 and had it 20 years. I've had several since then but none had the longevity of my first.

    Great video. I own a few Honda hs621 and Hs721. Was thinking about possibly getting a toro 821. I gotta say it seems this toro doesn't blow as well as the Hs621.
    Imo the Honda Hs621 is the best single stage blower ever built, blows better than the 721. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

    Bought a newer model Toro last year. I definitely prefer the one stage over a two stage blower any day! A two stage does a great job but they're just too damn slow! We're getting slammed here in Ohio today & tomorrow, my Toro has already gone through 4 inches like nothing! Expecting up to 8 inches more tonight into tomorrow morning. Can't wait to fire it up again!

    Hoo boy, almost enough to make me respect single stage blowers 🤣 after years of shoveling (! In wisconsin) my neighbors finally got a wimpy electric single stage this year. Pretty sure they could have shoveled this last snowfall faster 😄
    On the other hand, folks running a service with a pickup with a plow on front, that Toro's probably all you need.

    Thanks for the video. I have a 721QZE with the 212 cc engine. It's the older model and works great. It appears that your model requires more pushing. On mine, the paddle just pulls you along. I have read that this has been an issue with this new design. Have you found this to be true?

    • @johnnywishbone1349
      @johnnywishbone1349 2 роки тому +1

      I have the Toro 821RC and I can say it pulls along great! I would expect it pulls the same or better as the 721 considering the engine has more torque. One thing the dealer told me was the commercial RC model had a thicker paddle. Not sure if this is true, need to compare the part numbers of the paddles on them both.

    I find this a bit odd. I have a RC 721 with the 212cc engine, and I'm kind of excited at the idea of this new 821, especially since it's been redesigned for easier maintenance (quite a hassle to change the spark plug on mine). I'm surprised though that yours appears to be struggling with the 8" of snow, maybe it was very wet snow? I've never had that kind of problem with mine, not even with 12" of snow, it just motors right through . . .

      @@got2getit204 Thanks for that advice. I've been looking into these new model 721's and 821's and have come to the conclusion that the older full shroud models are "better". My motivation is twofold; I had thought of getting a new one for myself, but have decided to keep my unit. I was also thinking about my son, who needs a snowblower, and am going to suggest to him that if he can find one that's like mine, being a few years old (2018 and earlier), that he should consider buying it. As always though, there's a whole different metric to buying a used machine that's concerning too . . .

    Thanks for the video and review. I have a 721and like it a lot. Two questions: 1) did you consider the 721 and if so, why the 821? Engine size?, 2) on the new 721, the exhaust blows out over the cable and lower arm assembly. As a result, it melts the plastic housing on the cable. I've only used it 2-3 times (and like the way it operates/handles 4-6" of snow), but I am concerned about the continued heat from the exhaust going onto the cable constantly. It appears that the 821 has the same design. Have you noticed that and if so, are you addressing it with Toro (or on your own)? Thank you!

    • @got2getit204
      @got2getit204 2 роки тому +1

      Well I can say from having one the 821 is that yes I noticed it but on the 821 the engine sits up higher then the 721 engine so the muffler is actually not hitting the wire on the 821 but the 721 it’s like it’s aiming right on the cable! But maybe call toro and ask if there is a fix and or if it is ask can they send you the party out for free! But it would of definitely been a deal breaker! But luckily mine is out the way!

    It says 12" in description aand you say 8" in video. Which was it? Looked like about 8-10 to me. Also, it appears that your pushing the machine fairly hard ... the self propel action is not so good? I have an older 2 stroke CCR3650 which is why I say this. When I have more than 6" I have to muscle this thing to death. Forget about the End of Driveway hump that the plow leaves... thats a full workout for me to break thru. I am considering this machine but it looks like you need to muscle it about the same as I am doing. My machine is 6.5 hp. Comments?

    • @fillslawncare

      So in some areas of the driveway I was PUSHING 12 inches. Majority of the driveway was about 7-10 inches and the snowblower seemed to plow right through the snow. I had to add a little bit of force than I normally would using this machine because of how heavy the snow was. You can see in the video that there isn't much snow blowing around like dust, it's being ejected like clumps instead.
