One other thing to check. There’s a flapper valve where the inlet air enters the stove. That flapper was stuck shut on my stove. It was obvious the fire was starving for air. I didn’t know about that valve until the local pellet stove tech showed me. Check that the flapper, which is normally closed, swings open easily. It should do that when the stove brings in combustion air.
From the one I had in the 90's no window in it. I was told not to put alot of wood in it like you would a cast iron stove. You have more mechanical controls than my old one did also. However I put 3 bolts of wood in when it was 15 f outside house stayed 75 with it choked down for 15 hours off those 3 logs. The fire had gone out 8 hours after lightning. 8 hours of 3 logs. Loved living in that house. I was never cold. Burned one face cord that winter and the neighbor with a Franklin burned 2 cords. And it was never comfortable I. Their house to hot of just not warm enough. Same house build.
I also have a P68 and I can't seem to get my door off to replace the gasket. Any suggestions? There are just the straight pins. And where did you get that fabulous flashlight? I definitely need one of those. Thanks.
