Meh, to each his own I guess. I retired my Penn Z series reels well over a decade ago. While definitely venerable surfcasting reels, I’ll stick the modern, smoother and more refined feeling sealed Gosa for my surfcasting needs. Haven’t let me down yet! 🙂
Will definitely get one of these from you! If, as you say, the 18k has the same body as the 20k/25k, would be possible to install the spool of either of those and have the gear ratio plus the extra line capacity? For most top water it's fine but we get some big YFT and Big eye tuna were I'm from, so the extra 100 yards could be decisive.
I like the reel but I do a lot of togtaug fishing n been through many reels had difficult times to lift the fish out of the rocks.can you tell me the 18000 is good for it Thx
ive never gotten a shimano but they look so plasticky to me, i just stick with penn cuz i know they are durable, would like to try a shimano one day though. thats a huge reel.
No, the 8k and 10k do. The 14k is same size as the stella 14k, I think it has a little more capacity but it is truly one of the best poppers, it has a much higher gear ratio and makes pops easier.
The 8, 10, and 14 have the same body per shimano parts numbers except for the spools. There is very little difference in weight of all 3. The 18k and 20k also have the same body and different spools.
@Taevon mahi'ai the isla is 3 times as expensive and the slammer is comparable. I have three penn conventionals but no spinning to compare with a shimano. The penn function on the conventionals is a little sluggish for me. I'll wait for the gossa but thanks for the suggestions
@@joemelara5723 just stick with the gosa its sealing is superior to any penns its a proven reel, the isla is discontnued good luck getting parts or service for it, its basicly a 2010 saltiga, the catalina exists but its jdm they may not service it outside of japan, theres daiwa bg mq but its has zinc gears, gosa seems like the perfect middle ground, its also 90% the samw as the twinpower no point on spending double for the tp
@@christianflores7583 thanks. I did also think of the BG MQ because I already have an older BG(Not the same I know). What you said is kind of what I'd thought too. 👍
Shimano stands out from everyone else. They keep doing everything right.
Paired the 18K to a trolling rod for diving plugs behind the sailboat... Unstoppable so far!
Do you have a channel? I just picked up an 18k too :)
JandH, my go to fishing store. Josh, I appreciate how cool and helpful you are man. Fish on!
I like that old school vibe - looks great!
Great review as always josh
Such a great value for a sealed reel. Love the Gosa... it’s my go to surfcasting reel.
@Taevon mahi'ai If you know of another reel with that level of sealing at a similar price point, I’m all ears.

@Taevon mahi'ai man you really don’t like shimano do you. Lol

I know you said its not a jigging reel but could it be used that way and how good is it for bottom fishing overall? Thanks!
Can’t wait for the next season- that reel is gorgeous!!
What's your problem with Shimano and your fetish with pigs?
I ordered the saragosa 14000, when do you think have in stock, thanks
Love my Saragosa! 🎣🎣🎣
Would the terez popping rod be the best pairing for the 18k gosa?
I like the reel but I do a lot of togtaug fishing n been through many reels had difficult times to lift the fish out of the rocks.can you tell me the 18000 is good for it Thx
tis the season for stocking up on fishing equipment
Why no jigging for the 1800?
High gear ratio.

If I order one how long before I get it
I love the Saragossa’s!
Love mine they are soiled best in the price class. I have the 8k, 10k,14k and 18k
Great reel, looks like a killer reel
Man that’s a lot of reel!
yea that things huge
Dope reel dope review
Does the 10000 and 14000 share the same body?
Yes. The 8000 too i think

@@fadelover123 the weight on the saragosa swa 8k-14k are very similar so I would assume they share the same body.
@@ptrd5945 it might be, I'm pretty sure the 14k has more capacity, bigger spool possibly?

Nice reel!!!!!!
Sweet Reel
Nice Video!
🔥
Ayeeeeee
Nice reel
Big reel, looks amazing tho
@Taevon mahi'ai cool. It’s better than my current reels so it’s amazing for me
Shimano gears are great, graphite construction is industry standard in this price range for most brands, I'd way rather this over my Penn slammer
@@Nofishnoclue ikrrr
Real is great
i need 10 of these !! =P
Mantap👍
looks good. hope I win
I'm still waiting for my 14000 to come in...

Weak ass drag for a reel that size.
a amberjack isnt gonna pull 44lbs of drag
👍
