Original Video: • NECRONOMIDOL - RITUAL - Ігри
I think the main vocalist has a wonderful, even gentle voice. Surprised it could even be experienced differently. They just sound bloody good.
Agree with Death Pop, something from their earlier days like Ithaqua or Psychopomp
Thank you. I like the song Lamina Maledictum (a little faster paced song, but I picked just one of many good songs by them)

You guys also need to check out their songs ITHAQUA and TUPILAQ, these are really interesting! The Lovecraft thing you'll find in TUPILAQ which is a song/music video with a fetus with sewed parts of other animals (which happens to be an octopus lol).
Nice reaction guys! I discovered this band yesterday and I listened to their entier music catalogue. The band had so many line-up changes that they produced the same song (Skulls in the Stars) in their 3 first albums. They changed 3 members for their last album "vämjelseriter" and re-recorded some songs from their previous ones. The only thing I didn't like on older albums is that the vocals were too low in the mix and drowned by the music. They improve that on the last album.
For the newer songs (RITUAL is one of them), I can suggest you "santa sangre" (but as someone mentioned in the comments, be careful, the MV has a lot of "sangre" in it) and one of my favorite (but no MV yet) "cassilda". For older ones, I really like "ABHOTH", "Strange Aeons", "Ithaqua" and "Psychopomp"
Thanks guys 🙏🏻
I really like the vibe of this song.

As a goth since the end of the 80s these are really my favourite of dark idols I like that when you read the lyrics they are dark and they keep the vocals clean not relying on the harsh vocals that are becoming a fashion now. For me it helps with the Lovecraft connection as well Necronomidol being a play on Necronomicon. Some of the songs also use straight up references to Lovecraft and the beings of the mythos in their titles like Ithaqua, Strange Aeons, Abhoth and R'lyeh.
P.S. Good to see the reaction as there have been very few.
If you only had the subtitles on because they're translated
Ritual is the first video of theirs I have watch several times. I like the direction they took musically on this one. They could have done something more interesting vocally however.
For the first time(?) I noticed there was a big photo of Michael-san set up in the background...a photo twice the size of his face !! :'D
Well...when I heard the intro, I just thought to myself 'Wow ! Cool ! The rest of the song must be good, too !', and then...when the camera zoomed in on the faces of the band members, I just had a good laugh. Now I understand WHY you mentioned KISS. Yes, they do look like them ! XD
* Listens to the song * Hmm ? Is it Japanese they are singing in ? :O
Anyway, the song is so catchy, very easy to listen to...and so Japanese in an anisong sort of way. But...oh my g*d. The guitar riffs are superb ! :D And...their choral harmonies are SO great which I think is a big bonus ! XD
Well, thank you, again, for reacting to an interesting song ! :D
Yea, i printed that so when i stream games on our michaelreactstomusic account, Michael is still actually here always!
@@MichaelReactstoMusic Cute. I mean...that's really nice ! :'D
For a more "catchy" song from the same lineup, I recommend Santa Sengre but be warned that the video is not for everyone and might be age restricted for ads as it has some wtf moment and can also be triggering to some. Like I said in the community post, I dig that band and this lineup although very different from previous ones is my favorite because the girls seem to really enjoy themselves during their livestreams for either a rehearsal or signing pics for the fan club. Other great songs were already said by Aldo Metal so I won't add more.
Will add!
I love this group. First time hearing this song but I've heard others and I haven't disliked a song from them yet.
Hi guys, I'm a new subscriber brought here by your Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas reactions (I adore that band!!!). I like the whole gothic vibe of this band. Has anyone recommended anything by The Gazette such as Inside Beast, Undying or Fadeless? It's a bit different but they are brilliant and a great introduction to Visual Kei!!
We may have 1 request for them? Not sure. I've only heard No. 666 (and i love that song) but i can add those 3 to the pool! Thanks for hanging out with us and watching our vids!!!!
Necronomidol haven't struck a chord with me - yet - I've only tried a few songs though. This track could do with a little more energy, but I'd certainly listen to it again. The vocal style here is very typical of what you'll hear from other alt-idol groups, no matter what genre of music they are producing. I suspect it was the vocals that got Michael interested, so I'll suggest something similar. In to the pool... ヤなことそっとミュート (Yanakoto Sotto Mute) - AWAKE (MV). It's alternative rock and the group is more toward the idol side of things. I'll warn you that the audio levels in the MV are very loud, so make a note of that if you don't want your ears blasted.
Dope! Added to the pool!
Add LILY to the pool. My favorite Yanamu song!
Up until this song I'd preferred the earlier incarnation of Necronomidol, but this is ace... Both versions have been spot on with the harmonies though. As an old 90s goth I fell in love with them the first moment I came across them! :D
Glad you enjoyed it. It's not one of my favourite Necronomidol songs, in all honesty, because I feel it starts in one musical place and doesn't really go anywhere. Nevertheless, that gothic/metal vibe is a decent introduction to Necronomidol's style. Their manager is an American metalhead and H.P. Lovecraft fan who's been living and working in Japan for many years. He started Necronomidol in 2014. Their lyrics are about 70% Lovecraft-specific, and 30% general occult stuff of the sort that's been in heavy metal from Black Sabbath onwards (witches, vampires, Halloween, etc.), while their music encompasses Black Metal, darkwave, and other genres that tend towards the bleak, melancholy, and haunting end of the atmospheric spectrum - although sometimes they'll surprise you by throwing in some power metal or ska or something.
As Aldo Metal says, Necronomidol had a major line-up change about a year ago, with three out of four members leaving. The best song by the new line-up is, in my opinion, TUPILAQ. As for the older songs, there is an embarrassment of riches. In addition to the ones suggested by Aldo Metal, I'd recommend STRANGE AEONS, ABHOTH, psychopomp, and CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT. (The video for CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT has footage taken on their European tour in 2019, when I was lucky enough to see them. No other underground idol group has performed outside Japan as often as Necronomidol.)
Wtf? I had a whole comment deleted!!!
Which???
I see someone referenced your comment but i dont see it either.
Yeah, it was there, I read it, and then fifteen minutes later it was gone. Very odd.
I was going to add SKULLS IN THE STARS, and, ITHIQUA to the pool.
@@AldoGuerraALDO-METAL You also had Dawnslayer in that post. I referenced you when I posted and thought those 3 were good suggestion
