That's so true! I never thought about it like that before. Lots of songs from all kinds of artists come on the radio, in the mall, at the airport, etc. but it's always "Bhomenian Rhapsody" that everyone can't help but sing along with, usually out loud, no matter where they are. I love Queen and only wish that I had been able to see them in concert in person once in my life. Even just one line from one song would have been worth it.

I was a punk/metal head and never gave Queen a chance, and I'm sitting in my buddy's truck and he's got this song blaring.... and I'm sitting there, with that same face you had Stevie, wondering wtf I was actually listening to... and then BAM, the shit hits and I was hooked. Now, many many years later, every single note of this song hits hard, I've come to love it from start to finish. It's definitely one of those songs that gets better with every listen. Also, Stevie, the best way to describe queen, is musical theatre, they took you on a journey, it was a bit weird, a bit random, but it was beautiful and genius, musical genius, they created a story within a song and within their concerts, they were referred to as "Stadium Rock" as they were a band that could encapsulate thousands of people and take them on a theatrical journey, aswell as being a fucking awesome band at the same time, some say Freddie Mercury was the best frontman of all time.

I love watching it from your perspective because it’s almost certainly what Queen’s intentions were with the visuals and stylistic switch ups all throughout the song. Just to bombard you with classic rock instruments and arrangements like you’re used to at the end of the song. It’s honestly a masterpiece, and seeing your reaction progress from confusion to bits of appreciation to the final ending of rocking with it and understanding the journey you just took must have been the entire point of the way this song was constructed. I might be wrong but i think the song speaks about freddy mercury battle with his family to become who we now know. From changing his name, playing what his parents thought was the devils music( they were indian parsey), not being around for dinners ( bismiela we will not let you go), etc. The man freddie ( born farouk) killed was himself. I'll never forget hearing this song for the first time. I was a punk/metal head and never gave Queen a chance, and I'm sitting in my buddy's truck and he's got this song blaring.... and I'm sitting there, with that same face you had Stevie, wondering wtf I was actually listening to... and then BAM, the shit hits and I was hooked. Now, many many years later, every single note of this song hits hard, I've come to love it from start to finish. It's definitely one of those songs that gets better with every listen.

Also, Stevie, the best way to describe queen, is musical theatre, they took you on a journey, it was a bit weird, a bit random, but it was beautiful and genius, musical genius, they created a story within a song and within their concerts, they were referred to as "Stadium Rock" as they were a band that could encapsulate thousands of people and take them on a theatrical journey, aswell as being a fucking awesome band at the same time, some say Freddie Mercury was the best frontman of all time.

I might be wrong but i think the song speaks about freddy mercury battle with his family to become who we now know. From changing his name, playing what his parents thought was the devils music( they were indian parsey), not being around for dinners ( bismiela we will not let you go), etc. The man freddie ( born farouk) killed was himself.
