How many here have been inspired to turn, thanks to this awesome, amusing and brilliant man? XD
I was looking at your fidget spinner videos and the nut and bolt ones and was curious. How about a yo-yo? like a piece of quilted maple or zebrawood? the chatoyance as it spins would look lovely.

Tim, as always a very informative video. I have been turning for a few years now and thoroughly enjoy watching your projects. Last xmas (2017) I made your xmas tree with led lights and it's been out again this year. Keep turning 😃👍

Question time . Have you ever thought of putting a small snake camera on the end of your tools or would you think it's to dangerous. It would would be great to see cutting in side vases and project's with a small opening

Beautiful looking project Tim. Not quite the same procedure used in the machine shop I spent my life in; but very interesting slant on a metalworking technique. Ron

Yeah But what about a Lock Washer too

Great video, I just wonder what the cost of the threading jig is. I do lots of hand chasing which I agree needs lots of practice. Making the hexagon, that’s very easy with your indexer on your lathe. Would never use a band saw. Uk

I go really crazy when I turn my wands, I go up to 1,000 grit and they are really smooth and shiny.

Tim, I have to say that was my first fidget spinner! I always had a nut and a bolt in my hand when I was a kid. Did you say that was a Robert Sorby jig?

hi where do they have and where can i buy that nut making jig?

  • @paulrichmond6903

Tim, it can accurately said that when you are playing with you nut and bolt, you are screwing around. 🤣🤣. I’ve made these using J.R. Beall’s tool set, (www.bealltool.com/products/threading/threader.php), and put a small clock face in the head of the bolt. It’s a whole lot cheaper and faster. On a side note, I DO own the LatheJig tools but I only got them to make screw top boxes.

This is one of our classic episodes that were first released through Popular Woodworking Magazine. They only kept the videos on UA-cam for 8 weeks each and then pulled them to put them behind a paywall. We still owned the rights to the videos so we are releasing a classic episode every month so they will be on UA-cam forever and for free.

And for just a million dollars worth of equipment and enough frustration to pull all your hair out, you too, can make this uhm…...fiddle digit thing-o-ma-bob. Wonderful huh?
