When soldering, make the join inline (wrap the wires together in a straight line, also put the heat shrink tube on fisrt) Also melt some of the solder on the Soldering Iron before touching the wires, it helps transition the heat faster & if doing a straight join, us a flat edged soldering tip. Cheers, I enjoy the video's mate.
At least you got it moving... 😆. Always have dug your music choice mate. Even the really big channels recycle the same shit, every episode. I do really you are bound by copyright etc. I have a rusty Tonner and have watched most of your stuff. Cheers buddy.
From 27:00 on, that's miss firing for sure. Have you checked top dead centre & confirmed the firing order is correct? 253 or 308? Could the timing be 180 out? Does it have a matching intake to the heads ports? Some of them don't mix. Been there from supposed Mechanic's before. Cheers.
It is misfiring that was my “Easter egg” to see if anyone would pick it up. It is something fairly simple. Its not timing if it was 180 out it would backfire through the carb.
yuo should only need to remove the resistor wire from the coil wire to get 12 volts to the coil or find a terminal on the ignition switch that has 12 volts when in the on position if it keeps running after it starts its because of feed back from the alternator warning light wire some need a 1 way diode in the wire to fix this problem you can get them from j car
There’s two wires from the ignition. One is 12v when in the start position. I bridged that to the wire that’s for the on position that was 9v and it didn’t change anything. I’ve actually delved into this further and bought a kit from the company I speak of in the video to convert from points to elec ignition and it still does the same thing.
Good stuff Jake, nice to see the Tonner back and moving. Love the new shed to :)
Thank you 🙏🏻
Get well buddy, nice shed.
Cheers mate

I learn every second time Im soldering to put the heat shrink on first. Cheers for the tips. The flat blade is on my list.

Cheers for the kind words, I know exactly what you mean.

@@V8JakeC Yeah cool could be a number of things from a knackered spark plug or plug lead to a dirty rotor cap & the list goes on ha ha
This will look soooooo cool all done up, Hey what area of Australia are you from?
Cheers I hope so. I’m from SA
