I absolutely love hearing him talk. He's such an inspiring and down to earth person. So without pretence and ego. The simplicity in his process just shows how much of a genius he is. ❤
I do all the time... 99% of people listen to music on 💩 devices in 💩 environments. So why wouldn't producers spend more time referencing on the same mediums most people use?
he said, "laptop speakers lying around on the table..." so it sounds like he uses a bluetooth speaker with his laptop, not the built-in laptop speakers
I still don’t see how one could confidently choose sounds when referencing on laptop speakers. Sure you can hear the high frequencies but you have no idea how the low end sounds????
He kept coming into my radar and I finally sat down and listened to his stuff. And now listening to him speak, it all makes sense. He's so intentional and emotional about this music. I can't stop listening to "Loved".. so beautiful. Thanks for this video.
That was great to listen to. He has such a great sense of melody and structure, simple but so effective... and then the way he explains obsessing about the sound for months after that... that combination really is what makes his music special. So many great SOUNDS on his records that keep you immersed.
Thank you so so much I had been really needing some direction I couldn’t find with Ableton and producing music and you absolutely really nailed it. Finally just what I had been looking for not another tutorial, but some actual artist explaining their creative process.
@@burneraccount9829 that’s true. It seems he gets the feel of the track and the sounds on the laptop, but will use the monitors to make sure everything sits well together.
@@metatron007I worked next door in 2017/18 and never even realised there was such a legendary studio next door where so many great albums had been recorded, only realised after reading the Chemical Brothers" book recently! 🤦♂️
It's a disgrace expecting everything for free. You think they should put together this whole podcast and provide it to you at no cost at all? If all you have to do is watch a 30 second ad in exchange for such great content then it's not a bad deal.

He's inspirational with his honesty; who else would admit to putting together a track mainly using laptop speakers.

No way he is using a Bluetooth speaker, unless it’s pretty sophisticated, due to latency
@@willroberts6429the latency wouldn’t really matter unless he’s recording stuff live

Kieran is potentially the nicest person in the electronic scene.

@@nikezoomsI have. Real nice bloke. He actually turned up to the show I saw him play on a bike
I have met him and concur
He came to play a show for us in Aberdeen. Rode up from England on a penny farthing bicycle.Great lad.

Loved is genuinely one of the best electronic tracks released in years. Perfectly crafted.
I could listen to KH all day. Comes across as a best mate from school who happens to be an amazing musician.
what an absolutely top bloke. love his approach and his music. great interview as always.

Super interesting and like others have noted, he is so down to earth and open about his set up. Inspired
It is great to hear a like-minded person. Music is my world, my therapy, music to me is like an itche that needs scratching.
I never had him down as a friends fan.
Me neither but he loves his Pop music so I could see how he's that way inclined to some conventional, agreeable entertainment

8:26 jajajaj yesss loved not only are you good at it, which is hard enough, your appreciation for sound is very inspiring.
one of the most down to earth humble dude
Imagine waking down the train and seeing him locked in on his laptop creating a masteri
Listens to other music through a strong HiFi sound system.
Mixes his own tracks on laptop speakers.
This guy is incredible.
That part caught me as well! Legendary!
at 3:11 he actually clarifies that he does mix on monitors....
@@burneraccount9829 that’s true. It seems he gets the feel of the track and the sounds on the laptop, but will use the monitors to make sure everything sits well together.
I thought I was the only one, it definitely has benefits.
Writes and produces on laptop speakers. Mixes on studio monitors. Is what he said!
Endless time on Kick Drums . Feeling that😂
This guy ❤
super creative genius this bloke is
Exceptionally talented young man
As a producer on the spectrum it's Great to see neurodivergant representation in the electronic community as well

Nice interview!! Can you bring Darius for the Romance EP?
makes his music on his laptop speakers but listens on an insane hifi set up
interesting....😀
Great interview. What’s the album he mentions enjoying? Noy?
Neu! :)
Nice 1, I have problems with my kicks when using laptop speakers too , my advice is to have your kicks in key 1 octave above the bassline
