I love that so many of your summaries start with, "This one is weird." Tom Robbins is an exercise in choose-your-weirdness. Thanks for the recommendations!

You’re welcome! Thanks so much for watching! I realized as I was editing that I said that for almost every book lol… this is a really weird one!

Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas was my first read, been a die hard fan since 🐸

Yesss! 🐸 it honestly wasn’t one of my favourites at first, but this book has snuck up on me in rereads and become one of my absolute favorites!

Still Life… was my first. I worked at a restaurant where a customer left a very well-loved copy (read as: held together with packing tape and hope) and one of the servers read it, loved it, and started a chain where after a year, basically everyone had read it. I was the last, and happened to leave just as it was my turn. I still have it. We all smoked camel lights, and were in our early 20s, basically the perfect substrate for Robbin’s charming prose to grow.
I have since read all of his books. I agree with basically all of your points. My fav is probably Skinny Legs and All. Every time I pass a random spoon on the sidewalk, I think of it and smile to myself.

Another outstanding 🔥on point video Will...Makes me want to start a reread today even in the beginning of finals when I have 200 graduate papers to read and reflect upon. Great selection of quotes and intro sketches. It's been a long time but I think my first was Still Life With Woodpecker. Congratulations again on a wonderful channel. Oh by the way the last person to read everything in the world no doubt that would be Steve Donahue..hard to believe since he's only 28.

Really interesting video. I knew nothing about this author or his work. Its not my typical kind of book but I'm trying to branch out more!

Thanks Brandon! I think you would like them if you’re branching out. His books are often rooted in philosophical concepts, but then wrapped in off the wall situations, characters and humour. So if you’re in the mood for some playful pondering some time, give it a shot!
