I only recently heard this version on my older country music station out of Ashland, Alabama and I love it!!! 💜💙I don't remember ever hearing it before, but this is fantastic! Always love the original and anything by CDB goes without saying, but I loved Hal and anything he has ever sang! Miss them both so much..country music definitely has a void without these two. Idk John Berry, but his voice is amazing also! Love how they interchange singing lines..beautifully crafted by 3 amazing singer songwriters!! Hal's wink is priceless..makes me miss him even more! True, amazing, raw, pure country talent is what this is!!!💙💙Also I love this bluesy, southern, rock n roll country version... RIP guys.💜😘
My grandfather was their produce for many years. He's shown in this video at 2:22. I don't mean to sound braggy or anything but I take a lot of pride in this and I think it's so cool.
what a beatful part the organist and whole band played through out this masterpiece of modern country music. so very proud of you all rip mr nadiels sir.
Ok so for all you macho fools so say men don’t cry, I almost lost it this afternoon at work when a good friend of mine told me about Charlie , rip Charlie , we love ya brother
This was a fun video to help make and be the "Long Haired Country Boy" in. Today I showed my 17 year old song for the first time, "Wait! Is that you!!"
Charlie's a generous artist, always has been. Agreed, he needs no help with any song but it sure was great seeing Hal Ketchum! How is it this version came out almost 20 years ago and this is the first time that I have seen this version? Love the way they handled the change in lyrics! Wink. Priceless. 🎶 Long live CD! Miss CDB performing at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo!! Texas hugs!!! xoxo 😊
You are the man. What makes ya great is your real not like alot of em. I would really love to see ya sometime vefore ya retire some day(to be able to meet ya would be a dream come true) but just seeing ya in concert would work. LOVE YA CHARLIE😌 Keep up the great work
this is just AWESOME guys!!!! I love this song Left My 2nd husband to it & I've never Been Happier! So It's True to my Heart & was before that for Many years so I'll take it to my Grave with me too it's That meaningful to me! I was always an Independant girl & I'd say the same thang cause I got long haired Leave this ol' Country Girl Alone! Peace
Exactly, as well as the line "but I would take another toke" instead of I will tell another joke. This must be the polished version for the now politically correct. I prefer the earlier version myself.
You dont get drunk & stoned anymore Charlie ? Good for you ! Tell Kay your next door neighbor ,Kelly said hi ,i used to be in love with her brother ,Tim ,we were high school sweethearts ! Love u Charlie !
John Berry is the first one and Hal Ketchum is the second. God bless you and them always!!! Holly in East Tennessee (a day one fan of Hal) P.S. Yesterday John announced that he has cancer. May he kick cancer's keister!
I definitely prefer the original. The lyric change isn't that big of a deal but this overproduction does take away the appeal of the song. I'm a huge fan of the CDB. I just prefer the first version in the same way that I prefer Uneasy rider over Uneasy Rider '88.
Priceless. Charlie joined by two of my very favorites...John Berry and the late great Hal Ketchum. ❤
This one is for all my long haired country cousins we always had a good time ❤

Good show Charlie. You are a Tennessee Treasure. GO VOLS.
Long live charlie
this was my husbard favoite song
Except he changed the words in this vid. It was, 'I get drunk in the morning, stoned I the afternoon'.
Exactly, as well as the line "but I would take another toke" instead of I will tell another joke. This must be the polished version for the now politically correct. I prefer the earlier version myself.
How fun! Enjoyed every minute of it! :)
He's the man
I love this version of Long Haired Country Boy, I wasn't hooked on the first version.
I Know That long haired country boy... I See you Jim T......
Jim T.!!!! 😊
RIP
Great song, please don’t change the lyrics
Charlie became a Christian at some point so he probably decided to tone it down a bit.
hell yeah
You dont get drunk & stoned anymore Charlie ? Good for you ! Tell Kay your next door neighbor ,Kelly said hi ,i used to be in love with her brother ,Tim ,we were high school sweethearts ! Love u Charlie !
At the 3:15 mark.... Did they really changes words to "... but I will tell another Joke... "
Probably because his take on life changed and getting stoned and drunk are not things he does or wants to encourage anymore.
This is country blues music?
I thought you got drunk in the morning and stoned in the afternoon
People say I'm no good and crazy as a loon
'Cause I get stoned in the morning
And get drunk in the afternoon
I wonder where the autographed mandolin went? Anyone know?
Why did he change the lyrics?
who are the two guys singing with Charlie Daniels I recognize them but I can't place their name
Hal Ketchum and John Berry
Broo
Nah bro thats straight Southern Rock n Roll, this version isnt original by no means.
Who are the other 2 vocalists?
John Berry is the first one and Hal Ketchum is the second.
God bless you and them always!!!
Holly in East Tennessee (a day one fan of Hal)
P.S. Yesterday John announced that he has cancer. May he kick cancer's keister!

Charlie doesn't need any help with his song.
I absolutely do not like the original lyrics changed to this ridiculous thing.
Wish they hadn't used alt lyrics. No need to be so worried bout the snowflakes.
This is an abomination.
This is gay. Hal Ketchum?? John Berry? really?
