@OldSurfDad ... Your welcome brutha,.. I tune in whenever I'm able ... Really enjoy the take you guys have on the wsl and surfing life in general ... Keeps me updated on all that's going on in that realm 🙏
They overestimated demand as sales started falling off because they got greedy and put Billabong in Costco. Ha. I mean that's the way it looked to me, but I'm sure it's more complicated than that. Bottom line is they have slashed budgets from team riders and core marketing for corporate earnings which is what publicly traded companies do. Hopefully surfers can branch out and find new brands to partner with in more creative ways.
Over 8 years of watching CT events and I’m over the direction WSL has gone. I could tell you details of almost every heat that my wife and I watched: most all of them live. Maybe something will get me more excited, I thought the progression of the ladies might get me fired up or Cloudbreak back on tour but the passion is gone. Maybe I just need to take a break! The format from the Olympics was reminiscent of the ASP days where the surfing does the talking. I even like how the announcers paused every now and then and said nothing. I just want to see surfing WSL.
I feel this..I think women's surfing is the most exciting part of the WSL right now. The way the announcers handled the Olympics is the ideal (I think they were coached to pause and it was great).
... R Cal having sponsorship issues is all kinds of wrong imo ... How is this possible in the modern era of surfing and its apparent proffesionalism now ? Its an Olympic discipline now and a top 15 guy has trouble to fund his endeavors... I dont get it either
Always rooting for Sammy Pupo! 🤙
... Hey fellus ... 🌊🙏💪
Yo Dave! Thanks for watching!

Sign of the times, the old school brands are pretty much bankrupt

Pulling for RyCal to pump it up this season. One of the best backhands of power surfing.
