- Jani Lane at House Of Blues in Hollywood on August 28, 2009. The band features Kevin Baldes on bass, Jimmy D'Anda on drums, Brent Woods on guitar, Patrick Kennison on guitar, and Shawn Zavodney on keyboards.
What a freaking voice even after all those years. We lost such a talent.
Over the years, many of the great 80's bands have fallen by the wayside for one reason or another. Of all them, the saddest story is Jani Lane. He was so amazingly gifted. For those who paid attention, it was clear that his music only got better as time went on. The first 2 records are the ones most people know, but it's the later stuff that impressed me the most. His solo album "Down to One" is incredible, while "Ultraphobic" and "Belly to Belly" show how he evolved as a composer. His loss is tragic. I only hope that one day, whoever owns the rights to his music will put out some unreleased stuff, like "Jabberwocky" or whatever else there is. I salute the members of Warrant for carrying on, but there really is no Warrant without Jani.
Just watching this video makes me realize even more that Jani was, is, and always will be Warrant. RIP Jani.
Nicest man ever, talented song writer n good friend from the old days. Rest in peace Jani.
A lot of talent that is missed
Jani always rocked.
Awesome man R.I.P.brother
I could not agree with you more Janie was so talented pure greatness.
Well said Eddie miss Jani everyday...
One of his best .. roll down the car windows and crank it up sing along and you will magically be 20 again!!!
Oh to be 20... 90s again
I can literally remember being 20 and blasting this album (tape cassette actually) all the way to work and all the way home, the 80s were a blast.
We’re still rocking!
Jani
You’ve cracked the formula for the fountain of youth, my friend!
He could still sing perfectly, awesome!
He still had his voice! He’s killing it here wow!
Always thought this was their best song.
Still a young man there, would still sound great if we could hear him now.
Not often people keep their voice for as long as he did. Awesome 🤘🏻
RIP. Got the privilege of seeing him live several years ago. I feel sorry for his brother. I just lost mine on march 13th.. 5 days ago. Just got back from the funeral home. We used to play in bands together. 30 years young.
RIP Colin Dane Kiser.. 02/15/1989 - 03/13/2019
Jani was so awesome, he sounded great. I wish he was still around. RIP Jani
My mom met Jani at the Hammerjacks Concert Hall in Baltimore, Maryland. She was sitting at a table with her friends when he walked by and accidentally spilled his drink on her. He felt so horrible and kept apologizing over and over. My nom smiled and assured him that it was okay. He still felt so bad so he ordered her and her friends a bunch of drinks on the house. He treated my mom with such kindness and sincerity. She said he was a true gentleman. This was back in the early 90s. She said he was the kindest, most compassionate, loving man with a great heart ♥️
The 29 dislikes are from people who dont know what real music is he sounds so good here what a rocking band one of my favorites of many rip jani
That's sheriff John brady and deputy hedge down voting.
29 morons
I miss Jani Lane so much! I still can hear his voice in my mind sometimes. Everytime I've done one of his songs at a Karaoke show, sometimes I can almost hear him singing right along with me & smiling. I never had the chance3 to meet him in person but I know that if I had, he would have left his mark on me, emotionally forever. It just doesn't seem right that he was taken from us this soon. RIP, Jani & we will always love you!!! You rocked our world with such talent. May your Spirit soar!
This guy.... is a frontman with REAL talent. I miss him.
Jani was such a natural front man....he was born for the stage. Amazing presence, even in this condition
Why because he says fuck ever other word?
From my time
Man 45 years old and still sounding great 😎👌 hard to believe in just 2 years we would lose him 😔 what a great performer and talent, always gave his best 👏 r.i.p brother love the 80's.
i just watched the original video, and then came to this. Wasnt expecting much. But DAMN!! blown away!! he sounds great! hot rockin band
Perfect Live performance!
what i always loved so much about watching Jani live, he's so damn personable and connects with the audience so well. amazing talent. ya, i'm still crying.
Jani looked and sounded great here .One of the most tragic deaths of our time..
So sad :( I love the way Jani interacted with the fans
Exactly. Right up there with Prince, Eddie Van Halen, Dime Bag, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Belushi....So much left to be said and sung by them.
@Markus Greenus No to which one?
Jani by far is one of the best vocalist / frontmen to ever grace this earth. RIP! P..S after he says please help me sing it listen close someone in the crowd is belting some killer vocals wow!! Lol!!
Let's not go overboard now, lol
I think this was my favorite Jani Lane/Warrant song.
Jani wrote this song, not warrant....But thanks
@@victorialey2867 good thing he put Janie/Warrant in the post, so he wouldnt have to see a post saying it was Janie's song
Victoria Ley it’s almost like Jani Lane was in this crazy good band Warrant.. Thats like specifying that Run to the Hills was written by Steve Harris and not Iron Maiden lol
This IS your favorite Jani Lane song
I had no idea until I saw another video about Jani Lane, but this song title was going to be the name of the album and main song until the producer asked for something more catchy...so he quickly threw together Cherry Pie and his life went downhill after that.
Jani lane, what can I say..true rock brother. I saw y'all in Maryville Mo at Lampkin Gymnasium in the spring of '91 I believe. One of the absolute best rock concerts I ever saw. You guys played that little gym like a stadium, you never gave up an inch. First class all the way! Thank you sir for a great evening. You forever rock!!!!
Jani is underrated Rock legend of 80s hair bands in my mind. He was incredible. RIP Jani.
Miss Jani so much!!!
I was blessed enough to see Warrant after Cherry Pie and after one of the most
underated and my favorite Warrant albums Dog Eat Dog! Both times in FL and the
original line up was great, they sounded better than the albums live and Jani Lane
kicked ass live! I also got to meet Jani Lane in Daytona beach, FL in 1991 and got to talk to him for over an hour and I got his autograph on my ticket stub! He was a very
nice person and a great singer who is surely missed!!
I loved dog eat dog. April 2031 was my favorite song from that album.
Loved dog est dog as well. I met him in 99 I think? WARRANT, SLAUGHTER and QUIET RIOT at the Hampton beach casino and ball room. I guess I got into a little drunken spat, argument, silly name calling session with Jani, I dont remember the details at all as I was blacked out shit faced drunk. My buddy that was with me says it was one of the funniest things he ever saw and it is to this day his favorite story he loves to dig it up and recite when I'm around. Anyhow, The truth behind the laughs was that I am a terrible alcoholic, who is not safe to consume booze at all. I squandered a good portion of my life swimming in false projections and inebriation. As it happens, I guess Jani struggled with this type of stuff too, and it would have been cool as a fan and a decent human being that when I did meet one of my hero's I could have been coherent, respectful, somewhat in control of myself and conscious of the moments going on around me. I wish I could have talked to him outside of a hard rock and roll environment and shared with him my admiration for his achievements and talent and discussed the real things that are going on behind our eyes. I didnt. He passed away. I was blessed by God to not have to drink for the last 11 years and I have 2 beautiful little children that insist that I throw in cherry pie and down boys so that we can headbang together and play air guitar. So. .. my supposed funny story isn't very funny at all. I am so very sad that Jani Lane died struggling for life under a choking soul and lethal memories, he touched a lot of people through his music and according To these threads, through his big heartedness. I am sorry I was an asshole on my only chance to meet a Hero.
Guitarist absolutely kills the solo! Wow!
Oh my God, I miss that voice! RIP Jani ❤
lead player is killing it
strong vocals even late... Vince cant say the same
VINCE NEIL LOST HIS VOICE YEARS AGO🙄..HE SUCKS LIVE. SO EMBARRASSING
Goosebumps. And I’ve never been a fan. What a loss. God bless him!!
OMG... It almost feels like he went back to age 26 again right in front of my eyes... YOU GO JANI, Swing It !!! WOW, it is amazing to watch Jani having fun & being respected by those he is playing with... I have said it before & this repeat won't be the last either... There are very few TRUE GENIUSES amongst musicians... Oh hell, I know tons of songwriters, out there & I am not taking anything away from any of them by feeling how I do about JANI LANE, this man had a body that just would not quit, until that last sad day, but before that Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm !!! But beyond all that wantin to jump someone's bones, there was so much MORE to this guy, his words to so many of the songs he wrote helped me grow up, helped me grieve over losses (including Jani himself) & helped me learn how to survive in this world... Read his lyrics, ALL OF THEM, he WAS GENIUS, no two ways about it, & this is only the 2nd artist I EVER put on this high a pedestal... The other one is Jim Morrison of the Doors, & I am so happy if we can not keep these rare stars here with us & locked in that guilded cage he sang about in another song, "It hurts to set them free" but we had to, & it was for the best & I KNOW IN MY HEART that Jani & Jim are rockin it out together & I look forward to my turn, I want front row to that concert in Heaven...
THANK YOU AGAIN Bootleg Video Funhouse, You F'kn ROCK !!!
Angel Becker , Agree with you 100%
Angel Baker...so well said
Holly Cow !! I just checked and HE is singing this in the same key as in a 1991 live concert !!
HA HA !!! Many of the current singers can do that anymore !! Ha ha ha TRY TO TOP THAT !!!
Bless you Jani and we have you here FOREVER AND EVER ON UA-cam !!!
R.I.P. Jani....I'm so sorry for the pain you must have felt. Thank you for sharing your gift of music with us all!
Jani's band plays the song better then the version of Warrant without Jani. So much energy!!!
He could write and sing. It’s awful how he went out. He sounds just as awesome as he did in the 80’s. Sleep well Brother….you were an ass kicker👍👍👍👍
One of the greats...miss you Jani.

Warrant AND Cinderella....most underrated bands of all time!!🎉
His guitarist doing the solo is pretty incredible...
It is a bit good.🤘
Good lord the tone of those Marshalls especially during the solos ..
Yeah those guitars were killin it through those amps no doubt. Quality playing helped too.
His death really was tragic and a shame.
Talented man, excellent vocalist, lyricist and song writer.
Still Kickin Ass At 45!!!!! RIP Jani!

Beautiful man Brilliant song
Rip Jani
great song, great singer.... grande Jani.....
Never a warrant fan. But I remember I used to always like this song.. . Went down a UA-cam rabbit hole, and ended up here. And to be honest. I'm glad I did. This is pretty good. Pretty heavy in some parts
Hope you gave Jani a little more credit once you went down into the "rabbit hole"? He was terribly unrecognized, artistically
Such a great talent gone way too soon great vocalist songwriter and can play multiple instruments. Not too shabby from i kid from ohio RIP Jani ❤
We sure miss you, Jani. RIP
Saw jani in Honolulu at a toilet called Gussi Lamours around 2001. Awesome show. This place had some amazing bands cheap!,BOC,Ratt,Quiet Riot,Great White just months before the fire. Wow...long live rock,be it dead or alive...
I miss him :(
Amazing song and incredible singer songwriter RIP Jani. nice work!
so sad! loved him so much!
Great rock n roll ! RIP ! thanks for the tunes !
Got to see Jani in Kansas out by race track. So impressed.
Coverdale was there soo it made for quite a vocal extravaganza.
I saw him before he became famous in wilkes county nc at a hole in a field called tobacco roads!! Outdoor concert with several others like stepin wolf and deep purple and some i cant remember right now but i. Know warrant was there singing down boys. And mabe firehouse was there too. It was a blast i was only 14 years old and my big brother randy took me to it . my granma sit in the car in the grass field because she was worried about me being there with all those HOoligans! She called them.lol!!! Man god love my grandma.. I miss her so much as she died in 89.things haven't been the same since.thats life. But hey i got some totally awesome memories like that outdoor concert!!! Man if i get allstimers somebody just put me out of my misery please ?? A man just ant a man or anything even not human without his memory. You know? Its bad its degrading. I think when a person losses all memory doesn't even know who he is than death should be induced. Dont let me sit around and look stupid and everbodys crying and you dont even know who they are or why they are even crying just put me down and dont let me speak to nobody. Just show me a picture of my grama as i die. Because she said ill meet you by the river Christopher. She was crippled couldn't walk sence she was 18 from polio. But she said I'll come running when i see you. Hell i don't know why i even told you guys this stuff I'm sorry. There's not anyone to talk to about things like that much and i dont want to bother my children with sad stuff . but hey I'm still here and still rocking in wilkes county nc. And loven it!!!!! Yea!! Peace. And yea jani lane rest in peace man you were one of the greats!!!!
I loved my grandma like that
Janie is a legend

RIP bro and hopefully ur daughter will carry on ur music that wud b awesome!!! all the bands from this era are still kickn ass and recruiting younger generations and that makes me smile every day!!!
this was their best song by far, he could sing and rock like no other, it's not too often you can watch a live song and it sounds as good as or better then the studio version. I wasn't a die hard warrant fan but he ROCKED!
Jani will always be remembered as a god of rock and roll!!!
I got a kick outta the comment the guitarist made about the Country Club in Reseda 😎 . . .
I used to roadie for a band called Rat Sally back in the heyday of hair metal bands in the 80's, & we used to play the same venue with several soon 2 be famous bands right B4 they were signed like Warrant, Guns & Roses, Kix, WASP, etc.
The Country Club was one of the best & most popular venues in L.A. from a bands point of view, because it had huge loading/unloading/staging area & easy access to the stage (a huge luxury in la area clubs!), big crew parking lot, huge well lit stage with a decent house P.A. & an actual light control board, huge viewing area for the crowd, great easy 2 find location, etc.
Hell, I remember they even used to bring up a case of Heineken for the headlining act which was EXTREMELY rare in the then becoming popular 'pay 2 play' scheme all the clubs joyously turned into. What that was bands were essentially renting the venue for the night; they were responsible for selling ALL tickets for the show; what ever tickets didn't sell the band was responsible for covering the $$ difference. A horrible scam, but if u wanted to make it into the music biz, you had to do it!
Anyways, the CC was one of the best clubs in S. Ca., & was definitely my favorite, thanx 4 the memory!
One of my favorite songs..RIP JANI..🙏
Great guy, such a tremendous loss to the music world. He will be missed.
R.I.P. Jani !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
