The First Kirby game I played was Kirby 64 and that was a great game. The graphic was great for the N64 and the combination of the elements was great, too. But like every Kirby game it's very easy until the endboss ;)
Its easy because that was the point, games were hard as rocks back then and weren't very accessible. That's why Kirby was made, so that everyone could enjoy it. Its a relaxing game which is also the point
^this so much. HAL knew it's audience well. I think it's pretty safe to say they weren't playing to the Ninja Gaiden crowd. This is obviously for kids(cute design and youthful stage names) or really big kids ;) Or I like it for the reason he's dogging on it- sometimes I just want a quick, breezy, fun game I don't have to overthink. Not every NES sesh has to be Destiny of An Emperor. :/
This game is currently available as a 3D classic on Nintendo 3DS's eshop. If you don't already own it as a cartridge or a virtual console download, I highly recommend giving it a download.
My gosh these visuals are amazing for the NES. The animations, detail, music are all amazing. I can't believe I never got to play this back then. Only played the GBA remake, which was amazing as well.
I really like your review for this game. I am start doing my own game reviews for my channel and i was going to do Kirbys Adventure for my first review. I know first reviews are not always that good the first time. Right now i am typing and writing out my review for my video. You got any suggestions for newbie lol.
Incredible game! I had Kirby's Dreamland on the Gameboy, and it was by far the best game on that console, hands down. Much better than Mario Land, etc. I never played this, but I must admit that this is the only original NES game that I've seen anytime recently and haven't played that I really want to play. I'd love to go through this game. The visuals and gameplay seem amazing...much like the Gameboy classic - one of my favorite games ever.
The claw machines were a nice break. i have more fond memories of the perfect kirby super star for snes. But this is the title that had to made for the franchise to achieve that. Its the benchmark for what kirby games are. A platformer that is a bit different depending on how you favor abilities or dig for secrets.
I remember first playing this game and I was taken aback for it's graphics at the time, I had double check the controller and system to make sure I wasn't playing the snes.
Then people you have no IDEA, what HAL Lab did in 1991! ;) There was a FC exclusive named Metal Slader Glory, which I can honestly say, one of the most technically advanced game to this day! If that game doesn't made, Kirby would have not exist! ;)
I remember when I played the GameBoy version on GameBoy color, at first when I heard this from my bro, I thought Kirby was a dog, and when I played this for real, and my comment for this was ''where's the *save button*???
i'm not sure... I'm guessing not, as saving games in the NES era was rare... I don't have the game, so take my statement with a grain of salt. Look it up.
Great review! I played this ad friends when I was a kid. Later I thought it was a SNES game, because of the graphics and how 'new' it was. I was wrong! Great, great game.
My problem with kirby, is that it's too easy. You could literally fly over half the game if you wanted. I understand it's more fun to play it normally, but when it comes to a video game, if there's an easy way, I'm gonna take it. I'm not gonna artificially make the game harder for myself when I could just float over and ignore the enemies.

I like how I can search up (video game) review, and I find classic game room. I love these videos, by the way.

Yea ghosts n goblins is a prime example of how absurdly hard nes games can get.
i enjoy every video that you reviews
Great review. Didn't know the Kirby history. I was into PC gaming at the time.
Nice. A great and informative review by Derek that isn't loaded with corny jokes or trying to be a comedy bit. We need more of these!

can u save in tht game ?? someone help
I didn't think "Kirby's Adventure" was that short to play...
That laser bit looked like an amazing level
the laser in Kirby's Adventure reminds me of the Gemini Laser in Mega Man 3
My gosh these visuals are amazing for the NES. The animations, detail, music are all amazing. I can't believe I never got to play this back then. Only played the GBA remake, which was amazing as well.
You didn't mention the game's beautiful 8-bit musics!

This was a great game. I'd recommend any NES enthusiast to pick it up.
what is cgr undertow?
wow that tree boss brought back so many memories, that used to be hard when I was like 6, great review
this game is my favorite NES game next to the obvious, Super Mario Bros
I wonder if he'll do a review on Earthbound 1 2 and 3
The GBA version of this was the first video game I ever played!

I'd play it if I knew Japanese XD
Does anyone else Kirby on the NES lag if there are too many enemies or too much action on the screen?
Kirby is my favorite character Nintendo ever created! SINCE I WAS 8 I LOVED KIRBY!
Is it just me or does the reviewer sound like Pit from Kid Icarus Uprising?
You're not the only one
he does
Favorite game on the nes
Back in the NES days, wasn't everyone a completionist?
i have this for wii.
great game
I never knew this game existed...

Playing this on Switch NES. This game is amazing!
Better on Nintendo
Awesome
i liked kirby64's mixing elements capabilities, but its still fun. i like how in kirby superstar ultra they threwback some stuff from this =D
I didn't play too much this game. But it is very fun!
@awesomemememe Um... It's not a kid reviewing it?
a lot of the commentary in these videos don't mean anything if you pay careful attention
@Themastercode1235 Indeed they have, I bought it just a while ago.
@SuperDominator45 -__-
That's this game's remake...
@rocbnd Nightmare in Dreamland is a remake of this game
Short game? C'mon! 4 hours is quite long for a non rpg 8bit title! let alone a platformer! Most of 'em don't last more than 60 to 90 minutes.
Well, Kirby's Dream Land took around thirty minutes to complete, so i'm not complaining at all.
i still love it !!!
Im playing it right now
Did he just say Kerpies?
cool
Not as good as SS but just better than DL 2. Though I consider the NES swansong to be either Megaman 6 or Zoda's Revenge.
ah kirby
@kundio6661 its a much later game
i'm not sure... I'm guessing not, as saving games in the NES era was rare... I don't have the game, so take my statement with a grain of salt. Look it up.
This game was made the same yar I was born
This game is...
Groovy...
Kirby kicks so much ass.
Not as many puns as I had hoped.. :P
wasnt too much to complete tho
Hey! I love the cuteness on this game :)
@SuperNintendo4Life ya i know now
Great Review UnderTow. This game is freakin' insanely fun! :)
Should I get this with the Dream Collection, the Wii U VC, or the 3D Classics version?
3d classics but this is a very old comment
EvilApple27
NES version. But this is a reeeealy old comment.
try your best and good luck:)
@elpicos8091
So... This game was a pretty good length :D
Great review! I played this ad friends when I was a kid. Later I thought it was a SNES game, because of the graphics and how 'new' it was. I was wrong! Great, great game.

This is a materpiece.
I'm not a huge fan of the newer Kirby games, but this game is just so good. I don't know what it is about it.
I had this game on my NES, it's pure AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!
CGR used videos reviews NesGames sound PolyStation Version
The final boss is hard as fuck and i dont liked it
