It can be screwed on pretty tight out of the box. get a firm grip on the metal shaft so it does not spin and the unscrew that plastic cap that the screw goes threw.

I like these mods...I also saw another video where he got lift by moving the shock mount to the inner hole on the chassis.

In my opinion definitely. You can always flip that spring locator and not stretch the springs and if you are not happy just reverse it.
