Omg...Mexico's cities are so authentically diverse... each feels so different. I like what I have seen of Guadalajara through your eyes.
They truly are. The Spanish influence can be seen everywhere that’s why some towns/cities look like they should be in Europe!
Yes this is true
@@TheCountryCollectors Guadalajara is so surreal
You'd be surprised of how Guadalajara blends together the modern and the ancient. It's the second most important metropolis in Mexico not only due to its size and population but because it's an economic, cultural, industrial and cosmopolitan hub. The double Guadalajara-Guadalajara sign makes reference to the famous "Guadalajara Guadalajara" song which even Elvis sang. I love the unique vibe in GDL.
Oh yes, what a fantastic city it is. I feel like you could be there for a year and still not experience it all. Thanks for sharing your city with us!
Yes, Elvis did sing that song in FUN IN ACAPULCO back in 1962. But the mariachi King Vicente Fernandez did sing it also and maybe more original version. I was in Guadalajara in 12/12/21 even being dressed like the King in mariachi outfit attending a party when we all heard that Vicente died that evening. Ok, life goes on.
That cathedral is gorgeous… the architecture is amazing

That’s the best compliment we could receive! Thank you so much for that. Jalisco is so beautiful. Truly - you made our day!

I totally agree .. every place has its negative side … and yes look beyond that to embrace the city and cultural

I am from Guadalajara. As someone who has traveled many countries, I can say Guadalajara is truly a beautiful city, history, modernity, technology, public transportation, I haven’t been there for a couple of years and your video bring me to tears. Thanks a lot!

The city i was born and proud of it 🇲🇽🇲🇽
You should be! What a beautiful place!
The love and respect that you have for Mexico is incredible. I was born in Acapulco, Guerrero but have lived in Chicago most of my life. I subscribed to your channel a few weeks ago and have really enjoyed watching your adventures. 🇲🇽🇲🇽 God bless you!
Thank you so much Luis! We really love your homeland. Oo we are looking forward to visiting Acapulco! Have you been there recently?
I was there about a month ago and had a great time! But according to my mom Acapulco was a lot more beautiful about 30-40 years ago. I recommend that you go but don’t travel too far away from the centro/tourist attractions. I also recommend going to Zihuatanejo and Taxco, also in the state of Guerrero. Safe travels 🙏🏼❤️
Yes we plan on visiting all three!! Thanks again so much for your kindness.
Qué Onda, paisano!
I was born in Tierra Caliente, Guerrero.
When I was a little boy, we would go visit my grandma's mom in Acapulco.
I too have lived stateside most all my life, since 1984.
I'm actually in the midst of returning home. While I've lived a great life here in the States, but I've always felt a strong longing connection to the motherland.
I'm gonna go live, work, and travel and taste lots of Mexican food.
I'm gonna go live the second half of my life there, where it first started and where I feel, should end.
I call it, "Living Two Lives in One".
Two cultures, two nationalities, two languages, two identities---two lives.
Saludos desde Tampa, Florida.
@@TheCountryCollectors Im from acapulco too. Honestly we are far from being the best place to visit in México.. not the safest city, but if you don´t go out of the hotel zone it´s ok. If you actually come I recommendo "isla Roqueta", by far the best place and it´s totally safe, you arrive there by boat you shoould go to caleta and that were they take you to the island. Therre are 2 types of ride, one is basicallt like a taxi and the other a little tour.. I use the taxi like it is cheaper like $90 pesos last time I went..
there are two secret beaches that if you go in , say, twesday will probably be empty.
You can snorkel as well. At the top of the island there is a lighthouse with a nice view

@@RocknRollFan77 we second that Andrew! Though Oaxaca puts up a pretty good fight too! Amazing food there everywhere! Have you been?
@@TheCountryCollectors I've been to Baja California, Baja California Sur, Jalisco, Oaxaca, Mexico City, Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Colima and Zacatecas (mom originally from there. Family moved to Guadalajara in the late 60's). I was also in Campeche for a day doing a tour of the Calakmul ruins that picked us up in either Chetumal or Mahahual, Quintanna Roo (can't remember which), but I don't really count that. Didn't even stay a night. I'm going to Mexico again March 14th. 17 days this trip. Going to do a few nights stop in Guadalajara at the beginning and end of the trip. I'm doing a 5 night/6 day tour of Chiapas, which ends in Villahermosa, Tobasco. Staying a night there downtown and gonna find some good food before flying to Merida. Doing a several nights there and also in Progreso. Been to Merida already, but not long enough and missed stuff. Did a day tour to see flamingos in Celestun, a few ruins tours, and just hung out in the city after taking the bus from Playa del Carmen a few years ago. This time staying 6 nights between Merida and Progreso. Did you go to Oaxaca during the Guelaguetza? It's late July every year. I did and went to the Mezcal Expo. Under $5 to get in. Got drunk off free samples. Lol. There was an tamale expo going on as well. Unfortunately I didn't get there. I think we forgot after getting drunk at the Mezcal Expo. 🍹

About the climate in Guadalajara, this time of year it's the cool/dry season. March/April/May you have the hot/dry season, followed by the rainy season. Since Guadalajara is only at 1500m, it can get quite hot in the hot/dry season during the day (around 35°C).
Oh wow that is quite hot! Thanks for sharing this. Does it ever get humid or does it stay dry for the most part?
@@TheCountryCollectors When the rains hit (June), then you will notice the difference. It will be much more humid than bone-dry but the humidity is not super-overwhelming. The rainy season goes from June to November and Guadalajara does get a lot of rain.

Yes, the Spanish arrived and colonized a lot of Mexico so that’s why you’ll find colonial cities all over the country. They converted a lot of the local indigenous to Christianity, hence the massive cathedrals. Oh wow, I didn’t realize how strict it was over there. We really hope things will get better for you.

Glad you two had a positive experience. I know I have been some places and have had negative experiences and it does kind of ruin your outlook and time. But most the time it's just 1 incident and 1 person and it won't happen again. There are way more good people than bad.
Yes we’ve had bad experiences some places as well and as much as you want to just run to the next town it is better to stay and face it. It sucks when stuff like that happens.
