As someone who has lived in Puerto Vallarta for 8 years I can say regarding this video sums up all the best places possible, I'm so glad more people are enjoying my city
Im Mexican and my grandparents are from Vallarta so I been going since I can remember. Here are some of the best restaurants options you can't miss. 1. Tacos Pancho (zona romantica) 2. Pancake House (zona romantica) 3. Freddys (zona romantica) 4. Margarita Grill (zona romantica) 5. Cinco Tostadas (malecón) Enjoy!!
As someone who has visited a few times I’d say that he’s done a great job spotlighting highlights. And he has the right attitude and approach. Well done!
My wife and I have been going to Puerto Vallarta since 2016. A must see is Lázaro Cárdenas Park in Zona Romantica. This is where the Olas Atlas Saturday Market is held. The park has been getting a major renovation since we started travelling here and is nearly complete. A local artist has been doing amazing mozaic tile work through the use of volunteers and the results are amazing. The work is being paid for by the sale of concrete surface space throughout the park. You can buy the right to a bench to be tiled, and even design it. You can also buy a plaque to be worked into the mozaic work, which we did. Another favorite for us is to go to Nacho Daddy's to listen to blues music in their upstairs loft section. The co-owner actually plays harmonica and sings himself. They also have comedy and other shows you can buy tickets for.
Great video! I have been going to PV for the last seven years and every trip I go to the SPCAPV Dog Sanctuary to volunteer it is a wonderful time to help the shelter socialize and help the dogs very rewarding!
Awwwwh! ❤️ I love what you did there saying yes to every vendor for a day! I’ve been to PV and surrounding areas twice and these folks are sooooo hard working…all day, under the burning sun. You did an amazing thing buying from all vendors that day. It shows you’re a great human and have a lovely heart. Btw, that last black transparent kimono cover you showed looked wonderful on you!!
I've been going to PV for decades and whole heartedly agree with this list - well done man! Major plus +1 for escaping to Sayulita / San Pancho, engaging with local groups/events, and checking out the other beaches south of PV by boat - also if you're into waterfall hikes, find the one at Yelapa! If I had to add something, it would be checking out one of the beach restaurants for sunset where you can have your table out on the sand, like Barracuda (just north of the Malecon) or La Palapa (Zona Romantica). At La Palapa the guy who plays/sings live music (Jose Carlos) is particularly good, and there is a piano bar that features local singers a block or two away called Garbo for the singers in the crowd. I'll be there again in a few weeks if you're still around!
not my experiences here .... I live here ..... sta away ..... mexico is most definately a 3rd world ........ stay away ..... no law at all ever ..... .
Steve... regarding the comment you make in Minute 3:45... just for the records... the pronunciation of those weird names in Spanish (beach names) is just fine, and your video is amazing. Congratulations. Not only have you recorded amazing places, but you have also given people excellent advice about things to do, where to go, etc... congratulations!! It's been nice watching your video
Make sure to get some antibiotics(amoxicillin) for travelers sickness! Also don’t buy weed on the boardwalks they work with the cops. If you get caught they will except $100 American as a bribery😎
My friend, her daughter and I go in late August! I’m super excited. I’ve been to PV once and really liked it but it was during the pandemic so I don’t feel like I got the “full experience”. Looking forward to seeing it in full swing! Safe travels everyone ☺️
Leaving PV tomorrow but thanks to your video we climbed Mirador de la Cruz and it was amazing! We also booked with Paddle Zone and did the sunset paddle over at Los Arcos and got to check out the Bioluminescence at night. So cool! Felipe was an amazing guide and the beach at Mismaloya was great. Today we did take a water taxi to Yelepa. And I did eat at Tacos el Cunado. OMG that was the best thing I ate all week. I am so sad I am staying up in the hotel zone and won't have time to make it back to eat again before our flight. I just love PV, thanks for the great suggestions.
Just came from there did my first visit there I was impressed by how walkable everything is in zona romantica and being a fluffy guy I noticed it helped me shed some weight off I was always soaked in sweat but it was for my good lol. I need to go more eoften to slim down !! I love exploring and walking around.
Great job. I’m a long-time visitor to PV. Everyone loves the botanical garden in PV which is about 30-45 minutes south of the ZR, reachable by bus or taxi/Uber. I have not been yet but it’s on my list because so many people rave about it.
Going next week and the botanical gardens is at the top of my list. I have heard that there's multiple botanical gardens but I'm only planning to go to the one one so far
I went to PV last year for two weeks and ended up staying for almost four months. You video brought back great memories including the Mismaloya area where we now own a home up in the jungle overlooking the bay. Thank you for making me smile just a bit extra Steve!
Puerto Vallarta is defined by the natural charm of its beaches embraced by the Sierra Madre mountains; the essence of its culture, gastronomy and traditions; and the warmth and hospitality of being welcomed like a friend. This magical destination has an authentic Mexican taste and spirit
Wonderful production Steve! Definitely encourages me to put Mexico back on the list of places to return to. The Market Day looks perfect for me, as does the beaches. Thank you Steve! Stay safe and healthy my friend ❤.
There are plenty of fun activities and beautiful locations for everyone around Puerto Vallarta. If you haven’t been yet I’m sure you would love it. Very charming city.
Me and my bf are thinking about going in late April/Early May, so thank you so much for this video! Also, we will be so happy if anyone wants to be our travel buddy since we do feel a little uneasy about going to places ourselves.
very informative ! my daughter is taking Spanish lessons from June to mid-August 2022. (Univ. of Guadalajara). I am tagging along (software, retired). it looks like we won't be bored. We are big outdoor, water, hiking, and biking people. This video will surely make some of our friends come down and visit for as long as they can manage. Thanks. Pedro - Cuban, first trip to Mexico !!!
Thanks for the video of where I have lived since 1998. One thing you could have shown costs no money but people love it and donations are optional for The Turtle release on the beach close to the airport. It is amazing to see these tiny turtles run into the sea at sunset. Also The Puerto Vallarta Marina is worth going to. Some great restaurants there as well as lovely scenery. There is so much more to Puerto Vallarta than Zona Romantica.
So excellent Steve Yalo. Capturing the essence and providing useful info..May have been done on MX time 😁 but so worth it. Muchas gracias. Viva Mexico 🇲🇽 New vid from 2CELLOS, Luka and Hauser and now you with great content and THE ADVENTURE HAT... All in the space of an hour. This Friday is soaring already.
The botanical gardens are very beautiful. There is a local bus that leaves from Zona Romántica and takes you there is about 30 min. There is a great restaurant in there and a souvenirs shop where you can buy some amazing vanilla extract made from vanilla beans grown there.
excellant video. very professionally produced. you had my full attention thruout the full video which was amazing considering ive lived in pv for 4 years now. bravo . thanks and you now have a new subscriber for life. stormyjoe
I've been watching PV vids for almost a year now and this has got to be the best one I have seen for staying in Zona Romantica. Dude, you are a rockstar! Definitely going to help us on our mid-June trip.
Thanks for the great video ! I am heading to Puerto Vallarta in a week....not my first time there as I worked in the MovieTV industry in Hollywood and twice was there living & working on a TV show. I am now retired and going by myself for 2 weeks to enjoy my 2nd most favorite place in the world (1st is Mallorca Spain, where I lived for 3 years) ... Anyways, thanks again and I'll use your advice for my FUN TIME there in Puerto Vallarta !
What an awesome video! Great overview, Steve. I love how systematic your descriptions are. Feel like I have roadmap for how to enjoy PV when I go there.
I have been to PV about 3 times and have loved it each time. The first two times, me and my roommate went to a restaurant called Ocean Grill. The whole entire experience is incredible. The village, the water taxi ride is fun and the coast line is gorgeous, the views at the restaurant are spectacular and the food/drink is absolutely delightful. I also loved visiting the local markets in PV as well as in La Cruz and Bucerias. I can't wait to go back in Nov and Jan. If you are staying anywhere close to the RV food park in PV's Hotel Zone, I highly recommend visiting there every chance you get. They are open at 3pm, have at least 5 different food trucks, a bar and loads of seating options. There is a food truck with tacos for as cheap as 1.30 CAD! You cannot beat that price.
I am only half way through your video and, after watching dozens of other videos on Puerto Vallarta (some of them quite good), I can already tell this one is the best by far. I will definitely look up Kirk and his family when I'm there!
I LOVE this video and the way you presented it. I love PV and I would love to live there....The next one you do why not look into the AirBNBs, condo living cost, and senior living places. Also, look into the cost of Medical in PV....The state of JALISCO where PV is located is the safest place in Mexico and I think that is one thing your viewers might like to hear. I will be watching for you on my next visit in April 2023. Thank you Steve and continue to show awesome places.
My wife and I went to Puerto Vallarta about 10 years ago. It turned out that we were there during restaurant week (not sure of the official name). Visiting chefs from outside Puerto Vallarta prepared food as guest chefs and many of the finer restaurants. It was fantastic! Some of the best meals we've ever had.
Solid adds are.... Panchos Tacos in Zona Romantica (always a long line waiting so you know it's good!) and Mama Lucia tequila distillery in Mismaloya! The Botanical Garden is amazing!!! You can spend 2 hours or all day and see the most amazingly beautiful plants and landscape and they have an adorable little restaurant with really great food!
Great video! I love Puerto Vallarta. Love this list. So many fun and relaxing things to do. Coming up on my third visit there and can't wait. The sunsets are truly the best. :)
My wife, disabled Son, brother in-law and I are planning to retire in 3 years. PV is on our radar. Your video was nicely done , and thank you for sharing🙂
Great video! It made me feel nostalgic about my first trip there about a month ago. I visited a lot of the places you mentioned and I have some more ideas now for if I go again!
This is a very helpful video about the areas. I'm a seasoned traveler of Mexico and even own a plot of land in the state of quintana roo but have never ventured over to the West Coast. This will be the first time with my mom. We are budget travelers so I do appreciate the fact that you mentioned the city bus but is there any way that you can help me plan for the cost of certain items like the paddle boarding that you did or even some of the food items? We're looking for very budget street food that's really good. Thank you so much in advance, thank you for your time and energy putting this video together
Good and informative video. A couple of additional activities that are fun and quite reasonably priced -- zip lining (there are 2 or 3 companies in the area) -- fishing (you can easily charted a boat to take you out for whatever length of time you like at Mismoloya or Boca De Tomatalan) -- whale watching (theres lots of charter tours or go south of the city by bus and hop off at one of the cliffs overlooking the ocean and your chances of seeing some humpbacks are pretty good).
Lives there for 4 years. September 2018 - April 2022. Lots of four wheeling and zip lining. Las Yelapas is a fun trip on the southern edge of the bay. Can’t beat the sunsets. We miss it a lot
We have been to PV six times. Each time we found more to see and do. The Malecon of course is a must see. Good food and beverages and lots of shops. We did the Whale Watching tour, Rhythms of the Night. The Pirate Cruise and the Tequila Tour. The most spectacular sunsets are just stunning. We are hoping to go back soon even just to enjoy the food and the wonderful people of that amazing city.
Amazing video Steve! 👏🏼 As a local I always get asked about the best places to visit my hometown and this video summarized it wonderfully. Definitely going to recommend this now when they ask me. As bonus place I would add “La Bodeguita del Medio” if you’d like to dance some salsa 💃🏽 and I recommend you also the “Tacon de Marlin” for some delicious seafood burritos 🌯. Top video for what to do in this amazing paradise 🏝️
Hi! Im from Puerto Vallarta and I wanted to share that if your looking for a good place to have some chilaquiles for breakfast, try "La Chilaqueria". La Chilaqueria its located in Olas altas, I personaly think this restaurant has some of the best chilaquiles in Vallarta. An intresting fact its that is the same place where "tacos sonoritas" are. La Chilaqueria opens at 8 am and closes at 1 pm, and tacos sonoritas opens at 3 pm and closes around 11 pm. I really hope you go to this restaurant!! Anyways, HAVE FUN IN VALLRTA!!
We've been going to PV for over 30 years, but have never walked up to Mirador de La Cruz. Planning to do that when we go in June. Thank you for an awesome video!
My favorite memories of Puerto Vallarta was 5 am on the balcony listening to the ocean and birds. The feel of the morning air. The beauty of the plants and trees. I really miss those mornings on that balcony.
Been here twice so far, Zona Romantica area. Husband and I will hear back in 2004 or 2005. It was very quaint and quiet at that time…just charming! Our second visit was with “the guys” in a so so villa, 2019. The city had changed a lot, bigger and a bit more crowded. Sadly but the charm could still be found. Now we’re headed back again in a couple weeks. Staying about a mile and a half south of Zona Romantica, in a very nice villa. Much needed R&R. Your video was very informative to actually start adventuring out to different beaches etc.
Hey Steve, Nice video and commentary. You hit on a number of great things, there is so much P. V. Has to offer. Another great hike are the waterfalls in Nogolito. Also, Something I resisted for many years because it seemed so touristy, ( was “dragged” there by a friend who was visiting), is the Rythms of the Night, though a little pricey , it is a great exotic show, including dinner and a boat ride and supports a lot of locals. My wife and I have been going to P.V. For about 40 years, and own Casa de Los Artistas & The Patio Gallery in Boca de Tomatlan, ( on the hike to Colomitos and points south you walked right past our front door.) we are open from Dec. through April, so if you are around at that time, look us up and drop by. Keep Creative! - Bob
Hey Steve! Your video about things to do in Puerto Vallart is amazing. Thank You! Im a local and will be sharing this link to my friends visiting here.
Hi Steve, we went to PV in January and we had the best time there, we wanted to go again maybe this year again, this information you show here is a wonderful for us to do when we go back, Thank you Ruby and Bob
Great video. Most helpful thing that I have seen so far. Anything that we should be concerned about, stay away from, etc. in terms of danger or bad areas or night time. We have our first trip in May.
What an amazing time with I had watching your video...You are so charming and very informative 😊 I've been to PV at least 15 times and I too love it. I will be going next month in August, will mention you and look up VALLARTA VAMOOS... Thank you for a WONDERFUL DAY 💛
I am so happy that your video came into my feed! I’m actually flying to Puerta Vallarta in 11 days and going to stay for 2 weeks! 🎉 ❤loved your video 🙏👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🫶🏼🎉
One time I went with my two little kids and my mom to a tour cal Caletas , it was lots of fun for all day , including horse ride , quads rides, zipline , buffet and kayaks, beside the supper was made in front of us and they had a horse dancing show too .
Thanks so much for this great video!! I was just in Puerto Vallarta and this just makes me want to go back and experience more!! Great photography!! And thanks for all your sharing.
Great Video Steve! PV is my favorite Mexican destination. Been visiting since 97. We discovered Garza Blanca resort south near Mismalloya and really love the small Puerto Vallarta zoo. We had the opportunity to hold a baby lion, jaguar and lemur. South of Garza resort is a beautiful restaurant called Le Kliff. It's a giant multi leveled Gazebo with AMAZING FOOD and BEAUTIFUL sunsets. Go to Yelapa and take a horse ride up to the waterfalls. It's a lot of fun! In proper down town, behind the LANS department store is a restaurant called Cafe Des Artistes. Its outdoor dining is carved into a hill. Best food and very romantic. Also up a steep cobblestone road in that same area is the Siesta hotel. It's not the hotel you want to stay at BUT the amazing restaurant called Le Panorama at the top of Siesta! Flambe cooking and sunsets overlooking the downtown. Try their specialty drink called the Cocaroache! Cheers♡
We love Puerto vallarta, we love staying at the Hyett Ziva the place is really nice & clean & everyone if super nice they have 4 different restaurants 3 pools & BEST of all It has a privet beach with Parasailing jet skis banana boat. If you go to puerto vallarta you have to go eat at PIPI'S it is one of the best Mexican food places we have ate at, the guacamole is made at your table margarita's are really good also & their carne asada plate is Fa nominal.
Love your video and points of view. I like the different perspective andthings to do that a person may normally not do, like join a local group or say yes to all the vendors. Appreciate!
It's a great place! I have a boat tour business here (Boca Boar Tours), and we take people all over the southern beaches for a variety of activities and excellent food. I love Vallarta and the surrounding areas. There is so much to do from more cosmopolitan options to easily getting out in nature. Please understand that panga prices are higher now. The captains raised their prices in January 2022 to reflect the rise in gasoline prices and inflation. It's still very inexpensive, but the days of $50 panga rides are long past, even for locals. Definitely check out as many recommendations in this video as you can. He picked some very good options.
Great vid Steve! My wife and I spent a week in PV and kept coming back to your video and notes for guidance on activities and dining. Well done! We even hooked up with White Chedda and helped hand out some sandwiches … definitely an alternate vision and highlight of the trip!!! Thanks a bunch.
Absolutely love your video. PV holds an incredibly special place in my heart. Punta Mita is an amazing beach area with a great beach side taco restaurant. Andales restaurant in Zona Romantica. Restaurant by day, bar by night. Great food and nightlife. Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a must see. The best part of PV, is the electricity of the city and people. It's near impossible to match anywhere else in the world. The only down side is the Americanization that's taking over to accommodate the expats. Keeping its Mexican heritage, is what makes it so special. The best way to visit is, Airbnb in Centro or Zona Romantica. You can't go wrong. You don't want to all inclusive here, you'll miss so much.
We’ve been to Puerto Vallarta this February 2023. The place is so nice, the food, tourist spots, the beaches, tacos, tequila, the people are kind and warm and the place is very recommendable. But unfortunately, we experienced a very bad situation right at the airport’s arrival area. We were scammed by a money changer right inside the airport. So frustrating and likewise tipping is so common. That’s the only bad situation we experienced in the place
Hi. Greetings from Okanagan BC, Canada. Enjoyed your video & info. I spent 5 months in PV AREA. Nov -April . Amazing experiences and I would recommend. Have fun & just do it. Less then off the cost compared to Canada. Loved it
As a local retired guy, i really enjoyed the video, great job, you covered many , most of the best things in the area! i get many friends coming from the states, so i try to get them to mix these hikes, beaches, local foods, ... in fact i recognize the bech vendors that you bought your stuff from! Los Camarones playa? my beach! many of the usa gringos coming here just stay in white condo Air B and b's :P i know... and they drink themselves into a stupor, ... so i really try to get them out for an adventure, see some local things, get them out of Romantic Zone... i call gringo landia, as i live over in 5 de diciembre, with more of a cultural mixture, thanks again i ll save this and shot it to all my upcoming visitors ,! gracias
As someone who has lived in Puerto Vallarta for 8 years I can say regarding this video sums up all the best places possible, I'm so glad more people are enjoying my city
That’s amazing to hear. Thanks Silvia!

Wicked thank you! What are prices like ? Appreciate this thanks
Thank you. Is there anything we should watch out for. Stay away from or be careful of?
do you know if they have any vegetarian options?
tacos pancho arent really the best tacos to try here, very generic and basic
I've been visiting Vallarta for 25 years. By far the best video I've seen. Awesome job! Congrats.

I just left Mexico and you made me wanting to go back through this video! Really informative and entertaining. Great work!

Happy to hear that! 😁 Enjoy PV!
Thanks, Matthew! Glad you enjoyed the video :) Hope it helps when you visit PV!
I have been all over México but never the west coast. This was super helpful as I'm going there solo in September! ¡Muchas gracias!
Enjoy!!!
We are happy to serving you!
Thank you so much for this video.
We hope to seeing you again to have a bioluminescence experience at night time :)
This past January i was in PV for one day on a cruise. I loved it and cant wait to go back, flying this time and spend more time there.
I love Puerto Vallarta, I visit it twice a year!!!!
I was in PV in October for my nephew's destination wedding. He rented a villa right next to the beach it was the best time ever.
Great video! I love Puerto Vallarta. Love this list. So many fun and relaxing things to do.
Coming up on my third visit there and can't wait. The sunsets are truly the best. :)
Wonderful informative content Steve, we are thinking of visiting in November and this is exactly the kind of information we were looking for. Cheers!!
Happy this info helps! Enjoy your trip!!
Such an amazing place! Worth going back over & over again 😁
I agree! I’ll continue going back. I love it in Puerto Vallarta!
20:34 That is so cool that you bought something from the hardworking street vendors! They have some cool stuff!
Love it. A lot more to do the next time I go to PV - which is prep for my eventual move to the city!
I really enjoyed the Rhythm of the nights.
Every sunset was amazing. 🌅
Congrats for the video. I just went to PV and used some of your recommendations, especially the food guide. They were excellent. Thanks!
Que hermoso video, y que bella persona eres!! Gracias por compartir!!!! Saludos desde Nuevo Vallarta!!!
Wow, thanks Axel! Great suggestions!!
I’m going to vallarta in january, people talk a lot about cancun but I feel like cancun is just too superficial like a fake mexico in mexico
Oh how I've longed to be launched into drone flight, Steve! So good to see you again.
Welcome back, Martin! 😁
Seriously the best and most helpful video on Puerto Vallarta. So excited for my trip this weekend!
- Bob
Oh wow I walked right by your place! That’s awesome :) Thanks for the nice comment, Bob!
I've been going to PV for 15 years last week in January. I love it.
Amazing!
Hey Steve! Your video about things to do in Puerto Vallart is amazing. Thank You!
Im a local and will be sharing this link to my friends visiting here.
Hi Steve, we went to PV in January and we had the best time there, we wanted to go again maybe this year again, this information you show here is a wonderful for us to do when we go back, Thank you
Ruby and Bob
Beautiful Puerto Vallarta. Can’t wait to go there! Thank you for your positive vibes. Well done. Greetings from New Jersey.
Thanks Kate! Greeting from Long Island ;) currently in NY. Heading back to PV next week.
This is the best video I've seen for PV - going for the first time in January, so thank you for this! ❤
I took my family there about 15x. We did many tours and adventures. We love our new friends ❤in Mexico. Ola Dello and Patti LA Cruix de Jesus.
Cheers♡
Thanks for this info 😊 definitely will check it out .
Bro even I (and I live in PV) found a couple of great spots thanks to ur vid
Props y que te vaya chingón 😌👌🏼
We love Puerto vallarta, we love staying at the Hyett Ziva the place is really nice & clean & everyone if super nice they have 4 different restaurants 3 pools & BEST of all It has a privet beach with Parasailing jet skis banana boat. If you go to puerto vallarta you have to go eat at PIPI'S it is one of the best Mexican food places we have ate at, the guacamole is made at your table margarita's are really good also & their carne asada plate is Fa nominal.
Thank you so much for sharing! I'm goint to Puerto Vallarta with my bf on this Friday and this video reaaaally help me a lot :) Appreciate it!
Happy to hear this helps! Have a great trip!!!
Love your video and points of view. I like the different perspective andthings to do that a person may normally not do, like join a local group or say yes to all the vendors. Appreciate!
The best PV video ever... you covered all the bases
Thanks that was beautiful introductions about Puerto Vallarta
I love PV and this perfect. I've been going for over 26 years and learn some new things. Thanks!
If Puerto Vallarta has beautiful places and beaches like these ua-cam.com/video/2kAppGpe0tY/v-deo.html
Thank you Steve for this super Video 👍⬅️ It is beautiful there. I love it... Many Greetings from Germany
Thanks for the video! Great work! Going there next week 1st time! With wife and 15year old son. Can't wait. From slc utah
That’s amazing!! I’m so happy to hear that :) I’m back in PV now. I’ll be sharing new videos soon!
I love Puerto Vallarta ❤️ Yelapa is beautiful and I recommend you to check it out.
That’s the only bad situation we experienced
in the place
Great video, thanks for putting this up 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 We’re going in April now so some great tips in there.
Los Camarones playa? my beach! many of the usa gringos coming here just stay in white condo Air B and b's :P i know... and they drink themselves into a stupor, ... so i really try to get them out for an adventure, see some local things, get them out of Romantic Zone... i call gringo landia, as i live over in 5 de diciembre, with more of a cultural mixture, thanks again i ll save this and shot it to all my upcoming visitors ,! gracias
I always encourage getting out for adventures and experiencing the local culture! Hope this video helps provide some ideas for your upcoming visitors!
Awesome b-roll footage! That alone is enough to make me want to book a flight!
great work bro!!!!! loved all the info and pictures
