Pulling a vacuum is a common part of air conditioning repairs. Vacuums are used to evacuate ACs, a process by which they pull out all air and moisture from the refrigerant system prior to testing, repairs, and recharging. Generally, this is best done by an HVAC professional.
An air conditioning vacuum pump is used to remove unwanted air and water vapor from the air conditioning system when it is under service. When the air conditioner needs to be repaired, the first step taken is usually to recover the refrigerant from the system for reuse later.
Once the recovery job has been done, you can now proceed to do the necessary troubleshooting and repair work. The next step is to check and make sure that the system is leak-free else steps will have to be taken to rectify this.
The evacuation process is the next step in which the vacuum pump is used to remove the air and moisture from the refrigerant system. Once this is done, the charging process can be carried out before doing a full test on the system.

Daikin team, done vacuum for 15 mins, leak test at 10 psi, and overall perfect installation.

Sir use it R22 gas non flammable gas. Just purge the line and charge the gas without vacuum.but if do proper vacuuming system condenser work properly. Dont use it flammable gases AC

Most of the AC machanic not using vaccum at the time of new AC installation...rs32 refrigerant is class 2....very very low flammable....so it's not that much dangerous....and also inside compressor machanical and electrical part is separated....so spark won't affect refrigerant....
