I’ve been practicing these patterns everyday because I knew my right hand was weak. Well not anymore. It’s getting stronger and more coordinated. It’s also fun to play with your backing track. Thank you so much! You’re my favorite teacher on the inter webs! 😀
Such a neat and useful video! I’m trying my hand at composing, a little bit as an exercise, but trying to come up with musical tunes I might use, and I needed a variation on the picking pattern to go with a change in the song. Lots of options here, I’ll try some of them, surely a few will work! Thank you!
this might just be the best fingerstlyle exercise video on UA-cam. gots easy ones and extremely difficult ones. all sound great as well. I bought a fingerstlyle pattern book and it don't have anything good in it. this is just good stuff here
IMHO any pattern is only as valuable as it gets put to use. So I am using Pattern Number 1 called "Lazy Afternoon" on "Count on Me" by Bruno Mars. A welcome opportunity to get my slapping rhythm down cold as the gigs roll by.
I came across one of your videos on finger exercise; now, I search for your video on any guitar topic... just like google it; it's paul it in guitar for me.. :)
Stop! Stop! I feel seasick (in C-Am-Em-G)! Love your stuff Paul, although this one is tough to listen to end on end. I'm still absorbing the full Hendrix/Mayer lesson.
This is glorious. This is amazing. This perfectly relevant to what I’m trying to learn - and I have been subscribed (loving your content) for a while now! I’ve been really into learning fingerpicking - so THANK YOU🧐😍
I had to slow down the video to count your fingers... Nope, you don't have a seven fingers right hand, my bad! Really impressive, specially the trampoline and 4x3!!
Great! Thanks for sharing! Very inspiring for every fingerpicker! Love your videos, they are among the best for every guitar player ;) Respect, best regards, Erich
Nice video Paul. Maybe it's time for a video on different open tunings? I made an amateuristic movie myself with different Led Zeppelin songs a couple years ago, it's on my channel (not a lesson). I think you can do this 1000 times better!
0:47 Paul, aren't you playing the third string along with the slap on the fifth string? Is that a minor mistake or am I supposed to play as shown in the tab? Someone please help!
Aaah these are nice! Been wanting to shake up my finger picking patterns. I especially like the Buckingham! Thank for the content, zoals altijd :) -Pim
This is soooooo helpful.. But can you please help us on arranging fingerpicking pattern for some kind of ballad song? thank you so much, waiting for the next tutorial
Hey Paul, great video! For somebody just starting out with fingerstyle guitar, would you recommend that they use their ring finger or just play with the thumb, index and middle finger. Really like your style and would really appreciate a response..🙂
I'm not Paul but i know fingerpicking. In the blues tradition and related genres most play with just their index finger and thumb.. thumb for bass, index for melody/harmony. But if you play classical guitar you would use all fingers. Try and see what you prefer.

What does the two bars on the tabs mean?
Second Eight has a bunch of them and I don’t know if they have some kind of significance
@@GetERekted , those represent 16th notes.
5 minutes, 10000 exercises to do....you are absolutely the best
Possibly the greatest single video guitar lesson I've ever seen. Bravo, man.

Man... Buckingjam is giving me a hard time!! Good stuff Paul, and thank you for all of this
Oh this is the hardest one by far. I can't get it.. Maybe tomorrow..
Have been neglecting my fingers for a while so this is the perfect fun way to wake them up again.
Ive been trying to play that 'Buckingjam" pattern for ages and after like an hour of going through it again and again I can play it ! Cheers Paul.
By far my favourite guitar channel! Keep up the great work!

Its probably just me but these riffs actually make me happier when I listen to them. Does this happen to anyone else?

Hey Paul.
Is there any Slow version of these patterns ? Please share link.
Thanks this was a help!😊
Paul, Which string caliber do you use?
EXCELLENT VIDEO
brilliant, thank you!
Frusciantastic should be so easy, but after years of Travis picking it's so hard keeping the thumb on one string!!!
Hey man I was curious about the release date of your loopz app for iOS
Muito bom trabalho amigo, obrigado por postar
I love the names you gave to each pattern ahahhahh
