I’ve often posited that people who are rabidly homophobic or are anti-trans or act disgusted by people with casual sexual lives do so because they harbor these thoughts and know personally how these desires stand in the way of _them_ feeling like (what they consider to be) a good person. And therefore they try to prevent others from “experiencing” that same internal turmoil, as terribly misguided as that is. So I 100% think you’re on to something.
It’s always the most homophobic people who get outed trying to have anonymous homosexual encounters.

As someone who is in animal rescue I find the easiest way to tell the fake ones are they are more interested in filming than rescuing. If a person is struggling to save an animal cause they can’t put down the camera then chances are they put the animal in danger themselves to film it.
Have rescued many times. Haven’t got a single video to show for it because was too busy worrying about the animal to even think about filming.
    Makes me so mad.

Yeah, I found a channel and he rescued a puppy that was stuck in tar. Heartwarming as it barely survived. Then the next video is rescuing two puppies from tar then a mother and some other puppies and one loses an eye. By the 40th video of tar rescues, I started to suspect he wasn't just coming across these puppies in tar.
The other one is people glueing shit to turtles so he can scrape them off with a knife. I saw a couple of videos and then realised it was the same turtle. He was glueing bits of shit onto his turtle and cutting them off in every video. One the shell and body. I found a video by a vet saying that animal is going through terrible pain in every video and all the comments are "you are so amazing" etc.

@@Numb3r3dDays - Yes, I did. I am a genuine animal lover, so I put quite a lot of time into finding and reporting the channels. I also went through the video comments and wrote directly to everyone donating telling them the truth. There are also videos of vets exposing channels on UA-cam and so you can find the live ones that way and report them.
Simon said videos are more likely real if they have the rehabilitated animals in the videos. But when I researched it some people are even fiming the videos out of order. So they film a healthy animals and then starve it and drop it in a position to "save it". They can then show the healthy clips to make it look like they spent time and money rehabilitating them.
You have to remember that some of these channels are in countries with an average wage of $40 a month and so they can make amazing money from a few Western donations.

There's also real wildlife rescue that's "people made this thing, usually a water reservoir, with a steep incline and very deficient measures to prevent animals from entering, so we had to go with ropes to get them out before they drowned (sometimes it's too late)", which some people then use as "inspiration" to practice cruelty on their pets (or troubled wildlife they caught by chance) just for the money.
The main difference between both kinds being that the legit ones show at most the discovery, one person in the midst of the rescue and then the rescued animal, all the while giving an explanation of the dangers those waterholes or whatever pose and asking for the authorities to take measures so that they do't have to do it again, while the fake ones tend to develop like someone's idea of a Hollywood movie.

My theory about the monkey hate thing: It is people which live around monkeys who hate them.
My wife is an indigenous siberian and through a community, she met other indigenous people from other countries. We once have invited a woman from thailand for dinner and talked a bit about her life in the tribe. She was pretty chill until she told us about the monkeys. Her mood shifted drastically.
The monkeys vandalised villages, broke into homes, destroyed crops, attacked people, spread deadly diseases, etc. The indigenous villagers use rocks, sticks or firearms to kill the monkeys. This is a war between man and nature. The thai woman told that she has thrown a monkey into her fire stove alive, because she believed it was the same which has bitten the neighbours children.

Another dark and frighteningly easier to find corner of YT lies in wait among "prank" videos. Most legit prank videos are between friends and housemates and they all laugh and it's all good. But there are also too many whereby the victim of the prank is genuinely upset by it - some of these are staged, but many are not. The bad ones where people are genuinely upset often tend to involve children or people with disabilities as the victim. In any sane part of the world, the things done in the videos would constitute physical abuse, psychological abuse, domestic violence, and destruction of property. One infamous YT "prank" family did indeed eventually end up being booted from YT and the parents went to jail for abuse of their children.

It did change the comments sections of many videos because the creeps were commenting on the young kids in their favorite 'poses' or 'outfits' or whatever and they had been using the comments to communicate with each other. Sick freaks. YT KIds also had an issue with NON kid friendly videos getting through, so the tags and review process gotten tightened up a lot.

The foot fetish thing also has some anatomical reasoning. The sensory area in the brain is roughly divided into different areas of the body and oddly enough the area that processes sensations for the genital's and the feet bump up again one another. Obviously it is much more complex than this simple explanation; its been a long time since I've taken any classes, lol. While I don't personally indulge in this fetish, learning this completely normalized it for me, not that i was ever a kink shamer; just helped me understand and i found it interesting

No. It was a big thing even before then. Like a few years before. It was a fairly well common thing for at least a decade. My theory is that is a reflection of an undercurrent in american society where we had two generations of people where a large portion of the population divorcing and mixing families during mid and late adolescence. So basically people grew up. Some of them decided to make prawnos and they made nostalgic scenarios. Iow the last two gens have been pseudo-insecty.

    • @lowman5893
      @lowman5893 8 місяців тому

@@metamorphicorder You are thinking way too hard about it. It is an easy way to answer the question of how the actors know each other and why they are together in a given location. Basically an update of the plumber or door-to-door salesperson stories of the past, but with far more versatility. Sure some of them may lean more into the "family" angle, but the majority will just make one mention of it in the beginning and then never bring it up again. I'm sure you are right that the rise in mixed families probably contributed to the normalization of the concept, but I doubt it was a driving force.
