What a fantastic heritage. You are so lucky to have roots to this culture and a grandpa expressing these connections between cultures from old times when culture and diversity really meant something.

That's a big surprise for me to know that it is greek song as well. Sharing such a song should make us closer but I can't understand why we stand so far away. Hi to all greek friends

Of course I guess Hasan name is very popular amongst turks live today’s greece. No it is a joke Debre is located in Macodania a Balkan country where was part of ottoman empire. There are many Turkish songs still sang in Balkan countries in Local languages.

This song is known as "Drama Koprusu/Drama Bridge" in Turkey, and was recently re-popularized by the band "Haramiler" and before that, the folk singer "Ruhi Su". Here are some links to different versions for the curious souls:
    /watch?v=JUFnR7_7frs
    /watch?v=tXYYv2zZXnE
    /watch?v=1zY3W2AicsM
    /watch?v=5eW-9jiGJvg
I also find these "bre/vre"s as well as the "aman aman"s as interesting bits of cultural exchange. Curious.

Hmm Stavros, another example of Traditional Greek "Megalomania" yeah İ used the Greek word for Superiority complex. Look you ignorant, Ottoman Turks Conquered Albenia in 1417. Ottoman policy was to not to conscript, non-Muslims as soldiers. Muslims were conscripted to serve as cavalry soldiers and some as infantry as the number of "Jannychary" troops was not large enough in those early days. Naturally some those enlisted strongs died some became disabled during the battles, and could not support the livings of their families any more. Thus the non-Muslims who did not serve in the army were levied a certain tax by which the living expenses of such families could be financed. During the mid 16th siecle some non-Muslim subjects converted to İslam thinking that they would both be exampt of this tax as well as not conscripted being non trustable New converts. All Bosnians, half of the Albenians, both of Slavic descendentsy did convert. What they had hoped did work for some 5, 6 decades, But the Ottoman administration after such a period started to conscript People for the military from these converted slavic subjects too. By the way my maternal family has lived in Yanya (İonnina) which is some 50, 60 km to the Albenian boarder. They were descendents of the Ottoman
Veziir Mustafa Pasha, the minister for the Ottoman Treasure between 1615-1618.This Mustafa bin Hasan had 2 farms/ranches. One some 12.000 acres, and the other some 3.500 acres. Naturally several Muslim Albenian Girls have entered the family as brides during all those years (till 1913).My mother's 1875 born aunt was married to Prince Celal, the cousin of the early Albenian King Zogu. So İ know Albenia and their traditional inheritage in arts very well. THİS song is written by Muslim Albenians some of whom were also mixed by Muslim Ottoman Turks, those that were comissioned as vice governors, governors, army officers, officials etc, It is dedicated to an Albenian "Burglar,-Outlaw" named Hasan who had killed dosens of People and was a fugitive during those days. . Now here comes your Hmmmm nationalist complex and without knowing a bir about its bacground, mark this song as a Greek o e, like dozens of other Ottoman Turkish songs. Hmmmm did you get it now you NATO kafa NATO mermeri.
