    Try this scenario on for size:
    Gazer Beam was severely injured by the droid, escaped it by passing through the flooded passage, pulled himself out of the water into the cave, beaten, exhausted and dying all the while knowing the omni droid was waiting outside for him to reappear, he sat down, wrote his message, then succumbed to his injuries.
    Not unexplainable at all.

      @@TheFangirlWatches ua-cam.com/video/KwqZCmODTXI/v-deo.html this is the scene. Although deleted scenes are questionable, they should still be considered canon because the only reason why scenes get pulled like this are because of budget/time constraints for the movie itself or other unforeseen development issues, like a voice actor dying, that otherwise prevents the scene from being completed. But the layout of how GB was shown proves to be correct. He suffers a fatal cut or blast from the omnidroid v5 on his left side and gets blown off the cliff as a result. Syndrome was watching the encounter, and knew he wasnt going to survive since his hero file on Syndromes computer showed he had extremely low indestructibility. So the computer was updated as terminated because Syndrome knew he was going to die regardless if he took additional action. Him using his suit as a tourniquet to slow the bleeding makes perfect sense as the injury is still on the correct side in the deleted scene. So it implies he did it to give himself long enough to use his last remaining strength to carve the password out before succumbing to his injury. As far as the decay is concerned, yeah, theres not really anything that would skin him down to bones in just 2 or so months, even with possible insects and bacteria with the most optimal conditions. But the thing you have to remember is that this is still a kids movie rated PG, so i think having a partially decayed corpse of rotting flesh and organs wouldve definitely been a no-go.

    A little note: A large explosion under the water would absolutely be fatal, especially in the tight quarters depicted. Water does not compress; it displaces. The human body, however, compresses nicely; in this context, an ordinary person would absolutely have been killed by that explosion, the water displacing into their squishy body and pulverizing every vital organ in it. There is the question of whether that would be fatal to Mr. Incredible, since he is after all a superhero, but an ordinary person would be dead before they even had a chance to start swimming away from the blast like he did. Given the option between water and air to survive an explosion, always take air, lay on your stomach, and turn so your feet face the blast. This will protect your brain from shrapnel better than nothing at all.

    After seeing this I feel like the original film was much darker and troubling than the sequel but what made it so good was how aware of superhero tropes Buddy was. There is just so much to unpack in your video
    1. Why could Gazerbeam not have died from a droid? If he was wounded in a fight tried to flee, ending up in the cave he would have died there, sitting upright against a rock and using his last moments to burn the password into the wall.
    2. GB doesn't need to know all of Syndroms plan, only that he is a villain and the password and if he managed to find it out without Syndrom realising then it makes sense that he tried to leave it behind for someone to find.
    3. Why would it matter that it's unlikely that Bob ends up in the same place as GB? It's a movie, unlikely things have to happen for the story to progress.
    4. Flesh liquification occurs about a month after death, with full skeletization being reached as early as 4 months. (Also maybe since it's a kid movie they reduced the datails of rotting flesh hanging from the bones).
    5. If Syndrom doesn't know that someone found out the password, he wouldn't feel the need to change it. Also accessing a system is not unauthorized when you got the password.
    6. Syndrom didn't need to know for a fact that Bob survived until he was noticed in the computer room, also Bob didn't even call for help in the first place.
    7. GB is in a cave behind a waterfall. It's possible, and very likely, that Syndrom doesn't know he's there. Also Syndrom really didn't give a crap about supers that he thought died in explosions, such as Mr. Incredible or the unknown people on the plane.
    8. The movie drops the story of GB's remains, since it's a happy end family movie. You probably don't want a depressing end like that for a kids movie.

    • @TheFangirlWatches
      @TheFangirlWatches  5 років тому +63

      Let me try to get these in order.
      1. The REAL Gazerbeam could have died from the Omnidroid attack - it's what the computer says happened. BUT, the issue is that the droid didn't kill him if Gazerbeam ran away and hid until he died, and, if that's what happened, then the droid didn't kill him and Syndrome is lying to himself in his own computer. Now, droid injuries may have cause GB's death, but for the body to be sitting there rotting, it suggests that Syndrome doesn't know what happened to GB (because he wouldn't be that stupid to leave the body sitting there for anyone to stumble across), which can't be true for many reasons. So, either the computer is wrong, or that body isn't the actual GazerBeam.
      2. Why though? Why would Gazerbeam care what was on Syndrome's computer if he doesn't know the plan? And if that island is so lethal to super heroes that it's killing them all (which we can assume GB knew since he had the password), why would he want to send supers back into danger? He should have put SWIM HOME into the wall if he cared about their safety. And if he didn't care about their safety or didn't know the plan, again, why would he ever send another super into that snake pit to die again? Syndrome's tech is so sensitive that he KNOWS who knows his passwords.
      3. The entire point of this video is how there's a rich, layered substory that we're never fully given in the movie, and I'd argue that's important - or at least interesting - to be aware of. Yeah, movie's gotta movie, but this isn't a cheap-o straight-to-video release. This is Pixar in their prime, and they have never been sloppy with the details!
      4. That still gives us 2 missing months, and even if Pixar did look at this situation like "we don't have rotting flesh in this film!" there were still other ways to handle that issue without even showing a body. Or, he could have been a "normal" looking body that just wasn't movie. The body was there to get Bob emotional and paying close attention to the word KRONOS.
      5. All high tech places for decades have logs that show who logs in when. That's why most high security computers have passwords that change daily and are randomly generated. Syndrome would know, without a doubt, if someone used his computer (that's HIDDEN behind a curtain of lava) without his permission. Even if you say he wouldn't know, there's no logical reason that a secret computer wouldn't have it's password changed repeatedly over a two month span. Yet, it's all perfectly laid out for Bob to find, and no one guard, robotic bird, or other sensor noticed him until the homing beacon went off.
      6. You can look at the scanning scene two ways - Syndrome has a smug smile because he knew he "got" Mr. I. or because he knew the only place for Mr. I. to be was in that cavern/headed back to the lair. I believe the latter fully, as Buddy waited too long to end his revenge after a few moments. And calling for help is irrelevant, he was still being tracked, and THAT is what set the defense system off.
      7. I think that's a big assumption. If Syndrome didn't care about supers, why torment them? If he wasn't sure that GB was dead, why mark him as dead on the computer? If Syndrome is so freaked out that Mr. I. called for help, then he'd be going crazy trying to find GB to know for SURE that he didn't escape the island to reveal any information to the cops or other supers.
      8. Again, this is Pixar, who LOVES to throw in sad endings for kid movies. I'm not asking them to make a giant to-do about GB's body, but at least have Rick Dicker mention that they're retrieving his remains to lay them to rest or SOMETHING to the effect of closure on that major moment in the movie. We don't have to see the funeral or the body again to get some finality on the matter.

      I like both your ideas, and my thoughts were that buddy tryed to always stay one step ahead of everyone but gazer beam was the last super before Mr. I so I always thought that buddy got sloppy towards the end. That Buddy believed he could make no mistake as with the logic of syndroms cape, and that omni did kill GB and water decompastion destroys almost all physical evidence as well picking up decomp as is the presence in the Cody Johnson murder. @@TheFangirlWatches well there’s a few things that I can add here. The computer is wrong and syndrome probably doesn’t take that much caution into making sure they’re dead because the computer lists mr. incredible as dead even though if syndrome suspected that he wasn’t, it wouldn’t have registered him as such. Further, gazerbeam has x-ray powers, which could have enabled him to see through the lava and see what syndrome was up to. Finally, there is a deleted scene from the incredible 2 (which you can find on UA-cam) which shows gazerbeam’s funeral. In that scene, there is a portion where it flat out shows you what gazerbeam did and how he died.

    • @Symbolic-Sky
      @Symbolic-Sky 3 роки тому +30

      There was a deleted scene in Incredibles 2 that actually gives us Gazerbeams backstory and that story explains more how he got there. It's likely he went in on his own after another super they knew went missing because we know that Gazerbeam, Dinaguy and a few others were close thanks to the scene where they appear at bob and helen's wedding. It's likely that being a guy who fought for hero rights one of his friends got a message from Mirage and rather than keeping it to themselves got suspicious and told GB either in case something went wrong or even went there together. We also know that the scene where bob is at the computer takes place after bob sneaks back in so it's possible that Syndrome didn't actually know where GB's body was only that the droid landed a fatal wound. Finding the body with the probe would prove to him the droid did kill him thus he'd mark him as terminated. It's even possible that the omnidroid GB fought didn't have the serveylance that mister incredible's did since we know his bot was at least 3 prototypes ago. -shrug-

    I feel like Syndrome didn’t know that Gazerbeam was down there until he found out that Mr Incredible was alive. A drone told him Mr. Incredible was dead, the drone was clearly wrong, so something needed to be tweaked. So after discovering Mr. Incredible was still alive and looking through his password-protected files, he most likely figured something was up with the device. Instead of simply trusting the scan, he reviewed the footage and saw Gazerbeam’s final message on the wall revealing Syndrome’s password, and that the drone never actually checked behind Gazerbeam’s body, leading him to the conclusion that Mr. Incredible was certainly in that cave and had to have hidden behind Gazerbeam. Then he expresses his surprise directly to Mr. Incredible when he finally awakens from being forcibly subdued.
    And referencing Gazerbeam’s deleted memorial scene from Incredibles 2, it seemed like the creators had planned for Gazerbeam to be fatally wounded by the time he made it to the cave. He ripped his uniform and tied it around the wound on his left side, just as the ripped uniform of his remains shows. Using the last of his energy, he propped himself up and left a final message in the hopes someone would see it. He was also referenced as one of the smarter but more socially awkward super heroes, seems like it would make sense for him to leave a final message like that. And if a drone found his body, he was dead by the time he finished leaving the message, no signs of life whatsoever. But that’s deleted so it needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

    One thing to point out, is that Buddy would’ve marked GB as dead if he had received a fatal wound. Unless you get shot in the head or the heart, a standard fatal wound like having an artery cut would result in death in under a minute, instead of in under ten second or instantly. Due to the size of all of the droids, it likely that he may have received internal damage too severe to survive, and as such was only able to run and write down one last message before death took him. If the droids are smart enough to know if their target sustained fatal damage, that information would be relayed to Syndrome and as such GB would be marked as dead. Because if you’ve received severe internal damage, you’re not escaping, you’re going to die without an emergency room, the best trained surgeons and doctors, as well as the necessary supplies.
    Also that whole explosions don’t kill when you’re underwater is INCREDIBLY INCORRECT. The blast wave from an explosive is already quite dangerous on land, but underwater, that pressure can travel much further, and do way more damage. You don’t want to be underwater when an explosive goes off in said water, because the blast wave will travel through quite easily before tearing through your body, your innards being ruptured from the extreme pressure leading to immense internal hemorrhaging and death shortly thereafter. Bullets on the other hand don’t do well at all, they go about three feet before they’ve lost all of their kinetic energy and just slowly sink to the bottom. So no, an explosive would’ve killed Mr. Incredible, he only survived thanks to having superhuman durability in addition to his strength. That’s the only thing that saved him.

      True, but it's also not a good idea to assume that because it *can* happen in 3 weeks, it *will* happen in 3 weeks. The timespan you listed is massive; "three weeks to several years" is a long time. Given how huge that timeframe is, I would think that covers not just temperate climates but also more humid and dry areas. It's somewhat reasonable to assume 3-4 months on the fast end, but taking the minimum value as a given isn't safe. Of course, it's also been mentioned that it can take up to 2 months before someone is reported as missing, so there's up to 4 months for the skeleton to have decomposed.

    Gazerbeam, being called back to fight the droid he just fought, gets suspicious, and starts to investigate. He finds Syndrome's Lava Wall Base, and is able to see that the keys K, R, O, N, and S are used quite a bit, and is able to guess the password. I'd also assume that even though the Omnidroid is nowhere near ready for the final stage of Syndrome's plan, he still has the idea to send it to the city. It seems like that'd be one of the first thing he thinks of. Gazerbeam, now aware of Syndrome's plan, tries to escape, and since he didn't have a device that makes noise, is able to escape safely. But, eventually he comes into contact with the Omnidroid, presumably over the waterfall. Sustaining lethal injuries, he runs away as anyone in that industry KNOWS when they've been beat, so yes, he WOULD succumb to his injuries, because he know fighting is futile at his point. Using his last bit of strength, he carves KRONOS into the wall, and dies. Also, Human Bodies decay VERY fast, and even if it wasn't explicitly shown, it wouldn't surpise me if the lumpy look of the skeleton is because of rotting flesh.
    Also, as someone has already said, you are giving Syndrome WAAAY too much credit. One of his fatal flaws is that he's cocky. He smirked after the droid comes back with no life because he had finally succeded at his goal: Kill Mr. Incredible. Yes, he WANTED it to last longer, but he was fine if it didn't.

This is partly the reason Gorillas evaded being seen by man for so long, there was never any physical evidence left behind for anyone to find. I was curious and looked at a few other videos about Kronos and the scene where Mr Incredible sneaks back inside the lab. It was Helen who gave away his presence so the loud noise set off the security system. It’s possible that Gazerbeam must’ve learned the password before he died to his wounds, either after he defeated the omnidroid he was sent to defeat or before he died on his return to Mirage Island. His lazer vision not only left the password but it was carved between stalagmites and stalactites which made the message hidden from any surface scan if it’s not in the exact angle.

    In a deleted scene for the incredibles, it is revealed that Gazerbeam has both x-ray vision and laser vision. Maybe he used his x-ray vision to watch Sydrome put in the pass word from another room. Then, when he tried to escape, he was severely injured by the giant robot near the location of the waterfall. He then made it into the cave and carved out the password as his last act.
    I don't think there is any in universe reason that Gazerbeam was left as a skeleton. I think the main reason he is just bones is because it is a kids movie and a rotting corpse would not be kid friendly. Idk.

    I have a theory that I'd love you to make a video about.
    The Buzz Light Year in the Buzz Light Year commercial, the Buzz Light Year we follow throughout Toy Story. Think about it; Buzz thinks he is a real space ranger, but no other toy seems to able to relate. Even Woody gets frustrated at his delusion, as to say, this isnt common. So maybe Buzz was projected as the real Buzz Light Year in that commercial and then packaged?
    As we see in Toy Story 4, Forky comes to life because he is projected and seen as a live, so maybe that's why Buzz thought he was real.
    It's the same for the Buzz in Toy Story 2, The one out in display is probably being used by kids and seen and projected as the real Buzz Lightyear.
    We never see how a Buzz LightYear is like when freshly taken out of the package. Except for our Buzz, but my theory may disprove that?
    What do you think?

It is known he stayed active like Mr incredible and frozen. He baited gazerbeam the same way of keep being a hero and gazerbeam probably didn't realize how deadly it was until he was trapped there. Probably doing either marathon omnidroid fighting and survival on the island, or thinking he was just testing things out and having fun until it got too serious and he realized the real plot. Gazerbeam made his sacrifices knowing another super would be next. That man was real and a hero. You just can't show a body that fresh in a Pixar and keep the same rating. Gazerbeam fight with the omnidroid was fatal. The rip in his costume suggest a massive wound was inflicted on him. Bleeding profusely as he was cornered on the edge of the waterfall. Syndrome scanner told him the wound was mortal. Gazerbeam fell from the waterfall to the river below. Syndrome smirked as he dropped a bomb to finish any hope of Gazerbeam's escape. The fall accelerated the size and damage of his injury. A pool of blood appeared and bits of his costume appear on the surface of the water. Before the explosion Gazerbeam uses his eyeblast to propell himself into the cave. Dying and with no hope of rescue or raising the alarm to save the world. Gazerbeam crawls to the clump of rocks. With his breathing becoming harder he leaves not a password but the •• *master password* to the entire island. In hope that the next Super can use it to save not only themselves but others. In his arrogance Syndrome believed the password safe since he was sure Gazerbeam is dead. He would leave the remains to the island wildlife.
    •• Remember Mr. Incredible tried to use it to password to access the rocket. "Syndrome must of change the password." So it allowed clearance to the entire island operation.

    NO, he is smart, so there is NO WAYS he will think that. It is totally, completely 110% wrong.
    Water, being a virtually incompressible fluid, transmits the pressure wave of an explosion VERY VERY VERY well, making the lethal shockwave range quite large. It does not in any way absorb the energy of an explosion, it just transmits it.
    As for "any reaction speed to move out of the way"
    The shockwave in fresh water moves at 1440 meter per second. That's about 3221 miles per hour, if you are american.

    Gazarbeam came to the island alot more earlier than MR İncredible did and my guess is that where he died wasnt an under water place and thats where he fought the Omnidroid or maybe the Omnidroid he fought had the ability to go under water and when Gazarbeam was losing he decided to run and hide from the Omnidroid and hid in that cave but when he heard the Omnidroid looking for him and eventually go into the cave he was hiding in Gazarbeam would have realised he wasnt to get out of this alive and knew there were still some supers that were missing the glory days and would come to the island to be super again like him and many others and decided to use the last bit of energy he had to burn the password into the wall for who ever would find it and then knowing he couldnt do anything else he just sat and waited for the omnidroid and when it found him the omnidroid could have just stabed him and it could be that simple and dont forget that wet stuff get all rusty and because Gazarbeams suit is made of steel that might be why he looked like that or the Omnidroid could have killed him in a completly different way because Syndrome has got some cool gadgets and anything could of happend

    6:18: Uh, yeah. Two months is more than enough time for any number of insects and/or other assorted vermin to have their way with a corpse. And given that Syndrome is absolutely obsessed with supers, villains, and everything that goes with them (for crying out loud, he lives in a volcano), you just know he's got a piranha pool or some other kind of deadly ravenous animal living on his island too.
    Plus, just because he was REPORTED missing two months ago, that doesn't mean he hadn't been missing for longer. GazerBeam was described as one who had a lot of trouble adjusting to civilian life, which probably means he had fewer people around him, and, by extension, that it took a lot longer for people to notice his absence.
    The most benign explanation would be that GazerBeam. . . Well, at least knew that "Kronos" meant something important. My best guess would be that he heard Syndrome in a villain's monologue namedrop it, did manage to initially escape from the battle drone by hiding in the cave, but ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was deceased by the time one of Syndrome's drones located the body, most likely after a significantly longer amount of time had passed between when he escaped the drone and when the body was ultimately discovered.
    We can also assume that a tiny little droid incapable of recognizing the freshly dead from a long dead skeleton also does not have sophisticated enough programming to double as a 3D-GPS. Syndrome probably sent the drone out and got it back days later with only confirmation of death.
    Pixar did indeed clearly take into consideration that GazerBeam's death had a narrative, but that doesn't necessarily mean the narrative is intriguing. Yes, the story is there, but it's not so complicated that it warrants a deep dive.
    EDIT:
    There is one VERY important detail you missed. When Mr. Incredible is reviewing the supers vs. omnidroid timeline and GazerBeam's name appears, we hear the sound designating termination TWICE.
    Which means GazerBeam DEFEATED AN OMNIDROID. Which means he was put through the same paces as Bob, including having extended access to the island.
    So there's your answer: GazerBeam discovered "Kronos" some time in between his successful defeat of an Omnidroid and his surprise attack by the second one that ultimately caused his death.

    15 years have passed when supers gone underground but they do not age syndrome's grasp killing real heros so he can pretend to be like em when filled with hatred when sent the droid to wreck the city before underminer arrived getting the loot in the scene winston's father was in touch with gazerbeam and fironic when tried to call them when the break in occurred by the goons when killed.

    I know you’ve seen this comment a million times but in the deleted scenes for I2 it shows Gazerbeam succumbing to wounds after presumably escaping the droids.
    While the reason for deletion is probably because it was a bit weird to fit in I think it can still be a part of your theory. It may be possible that Sydrome found the body, but chose to leave it there as a purposeful clue to any who found it. So I think he could’ve lead Mr Incredible there on purpose or wanted him to go there to figure it out to make everything more fun and interesting. It’s also why he didn’t chase after him after he found he was presumed dead

    My theory: Gazarbeam fell into the cave and grabbed a nearby skeleton ripping off parts of his clothes and strapping it onto said skeleton. Allowing him to escape the cave and the island itself, all somehow undetected by Syndrome and his forces. Even though later he was truly terminated by the robots.

  • @bro748
    @bro748 3 роки тому +1

    The computer said that Gazerbeam was dead; it did not specify a cause of death. Similarly, the computer said that Mr. Incredible was dead, despite Syndrome being the one to supposedly kill him, so the 'terminated' message in the computer does not imply they were killed by the Omnidroid.

    I feel like syndrome never knew the cave existed, Gazer beam might still be alive, there might be a guard who went into the cave and gazer beam killed him, taking his uniform and got the dead corpse to wear his suit, escaping by wearing the guards uniform, living a normal life, he also must have burnt off his skin to bone so they will never recognise the body

      Yeah and for all we know, some could maybe still be alive and out there somewhere especially plasmabolt, since we don't see her on the list in the database (or maybe she was on there offscreen). Maybe some of those skeletons are fake and at least some of the supers managed to escape. But then again, knowing Syndrome, he'd probably want to make absolute sure that they're all disposed of because they could report what was going down on the island to the NSA, unless they were all too scared and just stayed in hiding or were blackmailed into keeping quiet somehow, but I feel like they wouldn't all be that cowardly.

      @TheFangirlWatches  5 років тому +2

      Maybe you're right, but I like to give Pixar above-average expectations for their stories. They tend to think of a million details that never make it into the final product, and, like we see, the only point of the password ended up being to get Bob back inside where Buddy could more easily capture/control him. Bob could have built a raft and tried to escape the island (and he's one of the few supers strong enough to accomplish an escape like that), but instead he went back to the most dangerous place possible. Awfully convenient that the skeleton had an agenda, that the computer had easy access to Syndrome's plan, and list of murdered heroes...
