When Cory emotes, like tries a higher range, his voice had a tendency of getting pitchy, especially since a fair amount of his songs were in concert with Broadway vocalist; you can actually hear the struggle in the earlier seasons when the key would jump. Thankfully, if you listen closely, he became a much stronger singer by season 3

+Andy Zhang well thats too bad because she wasn't the most talented or the most pretty OR the most interesting. Ryan just liked her more and therefore gave her a bigger story and more songs AND more camera time and that's why the show FLOPPED in the end.
Going back & watching this performance after his death, then watching Santana/Naya's performance of "If I Die Young" makes this so much more emotional but also significant. Even though I think Naya's performance was more real than acting, This scene explains her breakdown because Finn really did genuinely care about Santana after all they've been through. He wasn't just a stupid junkie, he was addicted and he tried to get help. Everyone's got their problems, and he had his reasons for the drugs. He was a good guy, just had bad habits. And he wasn't trying to die, or make people unhappy so its not his fault that it happened, so he's not a bad guy in that sense.

7 years and I cried so much when we lost Cory. Now seeing them both share such an intimate moment knowing they’re both gone is bittersweet. Forever our quarterback and cheerleader. ❤️
