Yes! "You can't just live in a bubble," so true. I totally agree that deleting/unfollowing people who don't serve you is great, but also working on yourself and your reactions is just as important.
ive been struggling with my body since i was a teenager. now that im 23, when i look back at old pictures and see what my body used to look like, im like " wow, THATS what i was hating? this is what i want to look like now!" and im pretty sure in another 10 years im going to look back at my 23 year old photos and say the exact same thing.. This goes to show you that you'll never be happy until you just accept yourselves for who and what you are. its going to be a constant cycle of negativity and unhappiness if we're not grateful for what is.. even though im 23, i still have moments where i just want to cut my stomach off, to have it be flat... i also recently got diagnosed with hypothyroidism (hence the weight gain) and EVEN THOUGH ive been eating better, sleeping better, taking my medication, and my blood work is coming back clean and healthy, there was a day where i legit was like " how come the inside of my body is healthy according to these blood tests but i dont *look* healthy".. in that moment i had to catch myself and ask " well.. what does healthy look like to you?" and i noticed that "healthy" resembled what social media, magazines, movies, tv shows etc shows us: flat stomach, big butt, hourglass figure, clear skin etc." I'm still learning how not to check my stomach in the mirror everytime i pass by.. I'm still learning how not to suck in my stomach when i look at myself... I am constantly reminding myself that my appearance shouldnt matter, but rather my heart... i should be grateful that i am finally getting my thyroid under control and my body is healing and how this is a beautiful thing. I think it's okay to have bad days where we tear ourselves down, its not easy being body positive 24/7.. Instead, i think it's better to be body normative (I got this term from Jameela Jamil).. She says that being body positive all the time is just toxic positivity and we're humans, we have emotions and some days, we're not going to want to feel positive. We should strive to normalize our bodies as is, accept that bodies come in different shapes, sizes and "healthy" isnt one set image, it looks different for everyone... Healthy is also what works best for you. every morning, i write in my gratitude journal to remind myself that i am grateful for my health and body the way it is. We need to be more kinder to ourselves and our bodies for housing us and allowing us to function throughout the day :) *"Simplifying starts with removing comparisons in our lives..." - Jay Shetty*
We both have the same age and share the same thoughts. When I look at my body 5 years ago or even 5 months ago, I started thinking about how it changed and how I used to hate my body and in 5 years it would be the same. I am so glad that I’m able to embrace each part of my body and loving it unconditionally. Today I looked at the mirror and smile at my stretch marks, and it just felt natural. I deleted ig because I would ( involuntary ) compare myself with other girls. Now I’m free.
I really love this video soooo much! it's really true that we have to deal with what it is inside of us that wants to mute other people who are being confident in their own way! I've definitely been working on that myself for quite some time :) i truly believe body positivity starts from within. and i also inspire to be the kind of person who is comfortable in who she is and i agree that it's a lifelong thing because there will always be something that might come up in every chapter of our lives. i love this sooo, so much! thank you
It's either positively uncanny or a sign that you should post this today and myself having been in two minds all night about everything I've been seeing on my Instagram feed that's been borderline toxic to my mental peace, despite coming from people I genuinely may like/ admire. You spread much more positivity and direction than you could possibly believe you do. Thank you for being as you are. Much love.

I totally relate to this. I was underweight because of an autoimmune disorder and it just hurt me a lot to be stick thin and people making fun of me. It's so difficult to just keep up with these pseudo standards.
