I want into this game blind, Grinded it for a week and finished the game. Best video game I have ever played and the storyline is unmatched! Then I decided to dish out 500 dollars for a PS5 and I also got God Of War Ragnorok. The series is so unbelievably awesome!!
I made the mistake of going up against a Valkyrie before I was ready- you need to update your gear as much as possible before you confront these- and even THEN it takes a while. :)

U gotta practice close combat for the Valkyries, deals great damage using talisman buffs and the right attachments. Would recommend muspelheim be4 the Valkyries
each valkery has a type of moveset that you can intercept. it takes maybe a couple of tries but you will get the hang of it eventually. just pay attention to the moves and just a tip. you dont have to wait for them to attack, if you are faster you can disrupt their attacks ;)

It took me 3hr to beat my 1st Valkyrie. You'll get the hang of it.
I even finished the game on the hardest difficulty.
Listen to me BOY!
Pick the best runics for the valkerie like close combat the better,and get rhe best cooldowns you can and dont forget rage mode,once yiu defeat valkyrie they will leave some good stuff.
