As much as Kratos actor does deserve an award, Sindri over the 2 games has got to be the best delivered character for me, everything from just the laughable disgust to touch anything in the first game all the way to the gut punch of how he handles his brothers death is just all soo crazy, he's the star of these games for me.
I don't know how to word this right now but, yes. Sindri has had amazing character development.
I wholeheartedly agree, this man Sindri has shown levels of grief and anger that I didn’t think were possible knowing how he was from the first game, it’s freaking epic how he stepped up in the final battle
*SPOILER WARNING*
From the previous game to Brok's death, Sindri's armor is pristine. At Brok's funeral, I noticed his armor was in really bad shape. Really drove home how devastating Brok's death was for him. I have to imagine he's going to play a pivotal role in the next GoW, just not sure what that is ...
Should also look up the lost pages of norse myth too, they show how brok died and was resurrected and it also explains why he was a clean freak, its because of when he got the last pieces of broks souls from the well of souls, he felt deatg crawling all over him amd he couldn't get rid of the feeling.
@@neville21 More so, notice how Sindri doesn't wear gloves after Brok's death. He doesn't even care about being clean anymore.

Sindri's speech legit made me tear up because he's right. The Brothers offered everything to Kratos and Atreus. Their safe haven, their resources, their skills, their secrets, their treasures. We take that for granted because that's what videogame characters are supposed to do. It's even more heartbreaking because Brok doesn't even get to enjoy an afterlife and Sindri 100% blames himself for it. That's why he's trying to deflect the guilt to Kratos and Atreus even though they were the ones who brought Sindri and Brok to brotherly relations again in the first place. He's a broken man and he never healed even in the end. He completely drops the germophobe act and became a bitter blacksmith who has nothing left.
He's not right he is missguiding his grief. They never took they offered up because thwy were friends. They were family. When people are gieving they say things they don't really understand
It's like what Mirmir says about never taking anything a person full of grief says to heart, especially even if it's spot on.
@@Zokalex Exactly, everything was offered freely because of their (Brok and Sindri's) love for Faye. Even Sindri's initial help in GOW wasn't asked for by either Kratos or Atreus. Sindri is projecting his own blame for Brok not having an afterlife. He's not angry at either Kratos or Atreus. He's mad at himself which is why he doesn't take care of himself anymore.
Its not an act, its just that, in the grand scheme of things, theres more important things, like his brother. Things we all take for granted, because we've grown with it. Just like Atreus. Who took the brothers' help for granted.
one of the saddest parts of Sindri's grief is that you can see he isn't wearing gloves when smithing anymore, and he's covered in Brok's blood. he's so sad he doesn't care about cleanliness anymore, and he's doing what his brother does by smithing the metal with his bare hands.

Ngl. I didnt even see broks death on my first and only playthrough. There was a cutscene and i needed too go too the bathroom. And i didnt see his death. I was so confused until post game.

14:35, Interestingly enough, just like Kratos tempering his brutal instincts with Heimdall, him liking his wife’s axe seemingly because it once belonged to her and is the only piece of her he has left is an excellent display of subtle character development. The spear would just be a new tool
and the blades are a physical reminder of his time as a warlord and genocidal god killer.
Then again, maybe the spear will eventually become much more revered by Kratos, as it was the last thing Brok ever forged and blessed

I like the music when he gets the spear. Its the kraros theme but in a major key, so it sounds actually HEROIC for a change instead of threatening. This is finally a weapon made for him because people believe in him, believe he is in the right. Ita purpose is to save Atreus' life.

What caught my attention was that at the beginning, when Fenrir dies, there are 4 parts of his soul leaving his body, 3 parts went to the skies and one got absorbed by the knife. So later we used that 1/4 of his soul to resurrect him. Sindri told us that he used 3/4 of Brok's soul to bring him back as he couldn't find the last part, which gives me hope that in the next game we will be able to find this last part of his soul and bring him back.

I didn’t realize during my play through that when Atreus is about to go to Asgard, kratos yells out “boy” when throughout the game he always calls him Atreus. I’m sure others realized but it flew over my head at the time.
