If you haven’t got Nikko on your Japan itinerary, then you need to add it! We were completely blown away by how beautiful it was and the snowy mountains and surrounding areas were all breathtaking! We’d definitely recommend more than one day if you have the time! 😁 Over the 20 days we were on the move around Japan we use our JR passes to travel as far as Hiroshima and also up as far as the northern island of Hokkaido to Sapporo! We had the BEST time, but would love any recommendations for anything we missed! Any places or food we should try on our next visit? The Kegon Waterfall you saw freezes at the coldest time of the year. 🥶 It's from the end of January to the beginning of February. 👀 Likewise, Lake Chuzenji, which you saw, was frozen in the past. 🙄 However, due to global warming, it hasn't frozen for decades. 😮💨 The autumn leaves in Nikko are also beautiful. 🍁 Tochigi prefecture is famous for strawberries, so the strawberry milk is also yummy.🤤 I hope you'll come to Japan again. 🤗
That’s awesome, we thought we heard someone say it was frozen just a few days before we visited! That’s so crazy, the lake was so big and the whole of Nikko was beautiful, it was bitter cold, but the views made up for it and it was one of our favourite places we visited in Japan!😍 We will have to go back and try that, sounds very yummy! Snow in August, I bet it’s a winter wonderland in the winters!
I’m not sure if it’s snowing now but we visited back in April 😊 I’m sure the weather is good at the moment 😍
