This film's atmosphere and shared fever dream motif can be seen in quite a few later films like John Boorman's Zardoz & The Heretic, Mike Hedges' The Terminal Man, Douglas Trumball's Brainstorm and even CNolan's Inception. Very influential film.
Great scene love the actress here, great talent, beautiful woman.

Great movie! This scared the life out me as a kid and it still gives me the Willis a bit.
Beautiful actress
1:15---I always liked that scream.
I loved this film it was better then the series I was only a little nipper so it was pretty scary too
A great part from a great movie.
This film scared the crap out of me.
I love this movie.
And then she became Scarlet Witch. ;D
Always had a serious crush on Barbara Shelley. Terrific actress too.
Shelley did a bunch of British genre flicks--Cat Girl, Blood of the Vampire, Village of the Damned, The Gorgon, Dracula-Prince of Darkness, Rasputin-the Mad Monk, and this one Quatermass and the Pit. I think she looked her best in Quatermass.
Barbara Shelley, remembered for being in the top two British sci-fi films, Quatermass and the Pit and Village of the Damned.
It's surprising that Hammer didn't make one of the lead actors and American. The BBC serial had Roney played by a Canadian actor. Here obviously it is English actor James Donald. I don't know if Hammer were in a better financial position in the late 1960's and didn't need to use this tactic. The only problem I have with this excellent film is that (being a shortened version of the TV serial) Quatermass as a character is somewhat reduced as the lead character. He's sort of a joint co-star with Roney.
It is a far, far better film for NOT having a token American in the cast.
A genuinely frightening sci-fi film!
good movie yes but a lot clue .looking forward to seeing truth
