"BioShock is a 2007 first-person shooter game developed by 2K Boston (later Irrational Games) and 2K Australia, and published by 2K Games. It is the first game in the BioShock series. The game's concept was developed by Irrational's creative lead, Ken Levine, and incorporates ideas by 20th century dystopian and utopian thinkers such as Ayn Rand, George Orwell, and Aldous Huxley, as well as historical figures such as John D. Rockefeller and Walt Disney. The game is considered a spiritual successor to the System Shock series, on which many of Irrational's team, including Levine, had worked previously.
BioShock is set in 1960. The player guides the protagonist, Jack, after his airplane crashes in the ocean near the bathysphere terminus that leads to the underwater city of Rapture. Built by the business magnate Andrew Ryan, the city was intended to be an isolated utopia, but the discovery of ADAM, a genetic material which can be used to grant superhuman powers, initiated the city's turbulent decline. Jack tries to find a way to escape, fighting through hordes of ADAM-obsessed enemies, and the iconic, deadly Big Daddies, while engaging with the few sane humans that remain and eventually learning of Rapture's past. The player, as Jack, can defeat foes in several ways by using weapons, utilizing plasmids that give unique powers, and by turning Rapture's defenses against them. It was released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 platforms in August 2007; a PlayStation 3 port by Irrational, 2K Marin, 2K Australia and Digital Extremes was released in October 2008, and an OS X port by Feral Interactive in October 2009. A scaled-down mobile version was developed by IG Fun, which contained the first few levels of the game." - Розваги
A Bioshock themed restaurant, or even a HOTEL would be AMAZING. Whole thing could be an aquarium, art deco decor, oldies playing, I hope one day someone will make this happen
That sounds like a great idea 💡 how about you be the person to make it come true 😊
How hard could it be? 🙂
i actually want to make that happen when i got the money. never thought about a hotel but a restaurant, i always wanted to have my own restaurant.

That was the most annoying part. When I'm trying to write, hearing words (unless they're muffled) is distracting.

Yes, but it also kinda distracts me so I'm gonna need to switch away :(
Glad to see these still being made and that Bioshock is still loved!

Bioshock will always stay as one of my favorite games of all time
@@zacharykienzle3568 same. It's truly a work of art, and will always be in my heart. Rapture is absolutely a fantasy of mine
Less than a minute in and I've already got goosebumps. God damn... Bioshock is such a special mood.
Yup... I'm in love with Rapture
Bioshock and Fallout
I thought I was the only one! I’m shivering honestly, I feel as though I’m roaming the empty halls of Rapture, always on my toes that something or someone is watching me.
It’s quite...eerie.
@@tk-4815 Same!! I love the idea of Rapture, the concept of a functional city underwater...but the city of Rapture ain’t hella functional like aT ALL-
Like don’t get me wrong I love how the places are named after Greek Gods, the general aesthetic of the game I’m absolutely in love with...but have someone like Mr.Ryan in charge YIKES-
Beings back a lot of memories of being 19,it was a great era in games
I'm not sure why, but the idea of a lost, highly advanced society that has since plunged into chaos is just so intruiging. This retro-futuristic atmosphere taken straight from the 40's is literally what I live for.
U must love the Fallout series (not 76)
@@SkillBill1000. or brotherhood of steel, that's even worse
Could not said it better myself.
Same. 100% it just…it feels so comfortable and familiar.
BioShock and Fallout have the best video game atmospheres in my opinion
I still want a Bioshock movie, The original setting is the best, it's so cool looking
Why tho. A movie would condense like 8+ hours of environmental story telling intro a horrible, janky 1.5h experience where they'd spend 90% of the time writing shitty dialogue that's just exposition so people who never played the games will have some idea of what's going on and the overarching plot would suffer horribly because of it.
you already experienced the game in a medium best suited to serve the story. You'd get a movie and it'd be a bad movie and you'd go "wow that didn't translate well at all".
A mini series on HBO or something would be better! Why settle for a 2 hour Bioshock when you could have 8 or 10 or even 12 hours of slow built Bioshock madness!
Many people online have said they'd love to see the fall of Rapture on screen, and I think that would be a perfect show.
Boy do I have news for you….
@@toddhoward2103 Very excited but also nervous. I hope it's decent. What Boyd was saying made sense.

I was aw struck when I heard 21:57 when I played the game. It fits the game perfectly and is the perfect song for bioshock in my opinion. Especially for the environment

Bioshock itself a fascinating paradox, it somehow nails the aesthetic of being both retro yet futuristic without feeling unnatural or disjointed

my fiancée took her own life in summer of 2020. the first bioshock game was one of her greatest loves, and not only was she wicked skilled at the gam in every way and was a fountain of knowledge about every bit of lore which i found endearing beyond words, but she would sing me to sleep with these very songs. i have my headphones turned up and my eyes closed. it feels like she and i are together in the tunnels of rapture, no longer separated by the veil between life and death. thank you lovely internet stranger who made this video. it is bringing me some much needed peace.

Just imagine Rapture in a new engine in 4K. I'd love for BioShock 4 to go back to it, maybe a prequel and see it before it falls to apart. Imagine just walking through it like a civilian
Love that idea. They tried this in the BioShock 2 Multiplayer.
But I think it would work better as a Singleplayer experience.
This could be such an amazing movie with the right team, as long as Hollywood doesn’t rape it.
I'm the same way with fallout 4
well there is burial at sea part 1, but I understand that is only a DLC
Justin Kulbaba absolutely agreed!
This would be such a great movie if we could get a director with some balls. A nice dark, gloomy, horror movie over 2:30-3 hours would be so welcome if it was done well.
If the last of us TV series is a hit with HBO they should defintely do bioshock
@@BurgiliciousDef There has always been talks of a bioshock movie but it's been cancelled and revived too many times to count. Just wish there would be a time where they would just make it already. Considering the new bioshock game will be coming out in the next 2-3 years releasing the movie with the new game could be a good idea for them.

I wish rapture was real.. I'd do anything to walk through the tunnels and look out at the lights, The couple's slow dancing in the windows, the big daddies fixing up rapture and the echos of the music. I love it.
Wife material
As much as living in that place as it was in the game would be a nightmare, the concept of it- the music, the scenery, the design- is honestly mesmerizing.
Rapture... please.. start existing... i'm crying for you.. won't you please come home?
I'm here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? 'No!' says the man in Washington, 'It belongs to the poor.' 'No!' says the man in the Vatican, 'It belongs to God.' 'No!' says the man in Moscow, 'It belongs to everyone.' I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose... Aww man I appreciate the comment!! I can't take any credit for the announcement thing though, there's a youtuber called Mk who made the original sounds of this video:
ua-cam.com/video/RShxYQmFIaY/v-deo.html
I loved how they added the announcements in and everything, that's why I was like "This is perfect! But it needs some tuning up" (only based on my personal preferences) so I only added a few more subtle ambient sounds in the background while his video was the foundation. You should go check him out!
I really enjoy that part of this is just fallout new vegas radio being played in rapture. I have listened to fallout radio for years, finding these rapture themed radios has been a dope addition to addition to the mix 🙌
My two favorite games ever are Bioshock (the first one) and Fallout 3. To hear the music from fallout in the eerie atmosphere of rapture is one of the best sensory overloads I’ve had in a while.
